Chapter 10 - Revelations

Somewhere in Shanghai. F.O.R.C.E temporal Hideout

The car turned into a deserted street, and finally drove into a warehouse where some of the F.O.R.C.E agents had transformed to their remote of operation for the meantime.

The car parked just inside while the gigantic door to the warehouse closed behind it.

Scott alighted from the car, followed vastly by Grey. He could see several computers that had been transported here via the airplane, several agents walking about.

And the plane on a far end of the wide warehouse.

"What did I say about keeping it stealth? " Hott asked, walking towards them.

"You never said anything about a third party Hott, a sniper for that matter." Scott replied.

"And how does that concerns you lifting him out of the window for everyone to see? People are getting suspicious now, several stations are talking about an inside war." Hott said, on reaching him.

"All this wouldn't have happened if he had let go of his pride and allowed me to work as well." Grey said angrily.

Scott said nothing, he opened the car's passenger door and pulled up the seat, and under this seat was a bottle of three protected wines. He took one and pushed down the seat.

"We have no clue to follow, our team have tried to get something on the place, but it's all blank." Talia said, appearing from behind.

Scott walked to a small bench located just behind his car, he sat on it and used his teeth to pluck out the cover. "Relax, I put a tracker on him."

He pulled out a small device and threw it at Hott, who in turn caught it in midair.

"Tracker? Where did you get a tracker?"

Hott asked, scanning the small device.

"I'm a spy remember?" Scott reminded, watching as he gave the device to a summoned agent, instructing him to go give Jacob.

Grey folded her arms, "No one would have died if I had followed you."

Scott raised his head, "And why's that, because you are a soldier?" He asked, while she stared at him angrily. He then turned to Hott, "I told you guys before, I work alone. I don't do well with partners." He stood up from the bench.

"You will have to put your personal issues aside. This is the lives of children, if we don't act soon, they could die and the blood would be on our hands." Talia said.

Hott nodded, "Hawk has a point. You would have to work with yourselves, can you do that Steel?"

Scott wobbled his head sideways, drinking from the wine and then walking away.

Grey walked sideways.

"This is going to be harder than I thought." Hott heaved and faced Talia, "Do tell Jacob to notify me when he's tracked down the killer."

Talia nodded.

She sat in the vacant plane, her right leg on the seat in front of her. She held a small locket that showed; a picture of her and a man. She sniffed slowly, forcing back a tear.

A thud came from the entrance of the plane, she quickly returned the locket to her trouser and looked up to see Scott, smiling, a wine surely with him.

"How long have you been there?" She asked, putting up a confident look.

"Long enough to see you sniffing and sobbing." He grinned, walking towards her and settling on the seat opposite her.

She looked away, "I wasn't sobbing."

Scott smiled and rested his back on the seat, "I don't say this a lot but maybe you are right. Maybe I got carried away by my ego, and took it a bit too far this time and someone had to die. And I uh, want to apologize for making you feel that way, you know, feel like you could have saved him."

She looked at him in depression, "Is this some kind of joke to you?"

"No it isn't, this is me being sincere."

She stared at him for sometime, "Are you here to apologize."

"Nah I don't do that, that's the best I could give. But I could make it up to you." He said, she looked at him with a thought in her mind.

"How about telling me about yourself."

'This is the part where I realize I have talked too much to people, and somehow went too far. I call it the being-stupid-Scott mode.'

Scott sighed and nodded, "I've never said this to anyone before but might as well."

He paused and continued, "I am a spy, atleast was. A formed initiative of skilled members that have been in development since the Soviet times. I lost my partners during a call off mission and ever since, I've being doing the job solo. Being Scott Steel, the greatest spy to have lived, the last of the Spies.

I haven't been a good guy lately, but I hope secretly that one day I will have a chance to be the good guy I once was." He stopped, looking at her and expecting her to say something.

"Wait, that's it?" She asked in surprise.

"Yeah, what were you expecting, a character's biography?" He grinned.

She chuckled slowly, "You are a maniac, and you know it."

He smiled truthfully, "It's just that somethings are better off un-said. I'm sure you get that."

She nodded slowly, "Yeah."

Scott looked out of the plane for sometime, at the activity that went downstairs, "So, who's in the locket?"

"What?" She asked, not willing to let down her guard yet.

"I have been staring at you for a while, I saw you staring at a locket of some sort."

She knew he had caught her, lying was only going to end up in futility. Grey took out the locket she had hid inside her pocket, and opened it for him to see. Scott took it to see her and a man.

"We were soldiers in the same elite force, and also had a thing going on. We promised to move this to a new level and drop the millitary. Get married, make kids. Our marriage would have been happening a week from now." She sniffles, "We had a retrieval mission, we promised ourselves it would be the last task we did. The Terrors hideout was a trap and err... Flius was part of those who moved in."

Scott nodded and returned the locket, "It's okay. Very soon, we will find this son of a bitch who staged it, and bring him down."

"I don't want to bring him down, I wanna kill him."

Scott faced her red eyes, "And you will, I promise you. We will get the sniper, retrieve his name, track him and kill him."

"And save the girls." She said, trying not to smile.

"And save the girls." Scott smiled at her.

An agent came into the plane as they both faced him.

"We have found the sniper. Director Hott requests that you come now."

Scott turned to her, as she nodded.
