Chapter 13 - The Chase : Part 2

*75%*

Grey stared at it in anxiety, watching as the numbers counted; she kept beating her feet continually on the ground in a pacing manner.

A crash came from outside the room as she quickly grabbed her gun and walked to the door, both hands gripping it like her life depended on it.

She moved to the door, she was about stepping out of the room when a scream nearly shattered her eardrums and a bullet whizzed past her face.

She panted and closed the door in shock, but a powerful kick sent it to the ground; and in came a man in a black suit with a gun.

He heard it from behind before he saw, two bullet crashed into his skull as he fell down dead.

She ran over him to the table, to look at the countdown which was just five digits till complete.

She said to the comm, "I have company guys, I just had to kill a hostile, God knows how many are already in this building."

'Get the chip here Grey, and stay on full alert.' Hott's voice replied.

She heard a clank just outside the door; another man in a black suit was passing her room, looking around for her.

She fired at his leg then his neck.

She took the chip when the download was complete and held it in her hands, cautiously walking out of the room.

She looked downstairs to see a man pointing an Ak47 at her, he fired on seeing the target; Grey moved away as the noise of bullets being felled whelmed the building; she crouched and ran as the bullets followed her on the wall over her. Shattering walls, paints and ceilings.

She saw a free room and opened the door to walk in, locking the door behind while bullets splattered on the surface of the door. The assault stopped, and then she could hear footsteps closing in.

'Grey, agent Grey are you there?' A voice said through her comm, she bent low while reloading the gun.

"Yeah I am. It is a warfront in here, they are all after me."

'No, they are after the chip. And killing you makes the job a whole lot easier for them.' Hott said through the comm.

"Ouch?"

She looked up the small hole that was embedded in the door, and placed her gun in it; fortunately the mouth fitted as she waited for the man to come. As soon as he was standing behind the door, she bent the gun downward and targeted his zip area, and shot.

The man screamed before falling to the ground, taking his gun in defense.

"Well, guess I will just have to fight my way through."

*Vrooom!!!*

The cars sped through the road, police cars on hot pursuit. Scott kept chasing the car in front of him, not minding the danger on his tail.

The Helicopter above kept after them.

One of the police moved his head out of the window and brought out a rifle, shooting both Scott car and Vlades'.

Vlades moved his head downward to protect himself as the rear window shattered upon the bullets, sending sharp glasses everywhere.

Scott felt nothing, as the bullets barely made a scratch on his car.

But all the same, these cops were making his work harder and more annoying.

He increased his speed as a police car sped after him; he studied the speed of the police car and when it seemed like the speed was efficient enough.

He smashed his brakes, as the police car crashed on his car, wrecking it's wing; another police car that was oblivious of what was happening, smashed on the previously wrecked car and somersaulted in the air, crashing on an innocent car that quickly pressed in.

Vlades looked back after hearing what just boomed, and saw two cars already down; more coming in fleets.

Scott started the car once more and moved after Vlades' who had stolen the moment to lengthen the distance between them.

He tapped another button that boosted the car's acceleration.

"Ah ah, suckers!" He yelled and drive danced behind his wheel, he was busy looking back that he didn't see the police truck that came out of a street nearby and bashed the side of his car; the car tumbled freely on the road before finally balancing upside down.

Vlades eyes were gradually shutting until he heard footsteps coming towards his car; he was hanging upside down in his car, blood dripping out from a part of his face.

He quickly drove his hand into his pocket, struggling to bring out the pistol through the pain.

He could already hear the footsteps behind his door already.

The two police pointed their gun at the car, before slowly dragging the door open; the door opened and two bullets followed; finding their way to the same position in their heads.

Vlades crawled out slowly and took their guns, before jumping into their car and driving off.

Scott smiled as he saw what the latter just did, he could still see several cars pursuing him, bullets hitting the surface of the car. He tapped the accelerator, and in no time he was driving beside Vlades' stolen car, after studying the plate's number.

Vlades turned to see the black Lamborghini, and then to see the driver screen roll downwards and the face of his nightmare smiling.

Scott turned back to his car and spoke,

"Connect with vehicle plate ******."

The car boomed and then replied,

"Connected, you may now..."

"Ehy bro, listen."

Vlades was clearly shocked as to how his voice was speaking through the vehicle's radio.

"I know we are kinda umm... In a complex situation here and err, you are running, I'm chasing. But we are both being trailed by cops who will eventually get you if I don't intervene, and that's bad for us both."

Vlades half concentrated on the speech and the police behind him who seemed not to be after him at all, but soon enough they'll see who was behind their men's wheel.

"So we will need to work together to get rid of these amateurs and then return to our little game of run and seek. What'd you say?" Scott asked.

Vlades could barely answer before a police car was driving beside his, saying words that were meant to be said to one of their own. He took his gun and fired repeatedly at their petrol's filler cap.

The car caught on fire, exploding loudly as it tumbled in the air.

He then turned to Scott and then nodded unsure; Scott nodded back and the side screen moved upwards.

He then drove his car to the front of Vlades', "Okay scumbag, when I count to three, you take left I take right." He said, driving slowly behind a small Sienna XL.

"Now!" He said as Vlades rolled the steering to his left, before moving it to the opposite direction and punching his leg on the accelerator.

Scott reeled his wheel clockwise, as his car rolled a circle behind the Sienna; creating a fog of exhaust release that distracted the incoming cars.

"Sorry boys, but this is most definitely gonna leave a scar." When he had successfully filled the air with smoke, he moved sideways and drove past.

Foolishly, a police car ran into the edge of the car; rolling sideways before crashing on another police car that had managed to follow Vlades.

Another swiftly sped into the fog and rammed on the car; the accident causing a vast fire.

Grey broke his head, before firing at another that fell to the ground.

She took his Ak47 and loaded it before standing.

No one was there again, no shooter, no hostile, no killer. She quickly jogged down the stairs, but was caught unaware by a kick from an opened window in the building that sent her crashing down the stairs and loosing the chip in the process.

She grunted as she managed to stand, she looked up to see the chip laying on the ground; she was about picking it up when a shoe came and slammed on it.

She reached for her other gun and made to shoot the defenseless teenager.

"Ehy, you shoot me and I will grind this chip. Plus you wouldn't want to shoot a kid right?" The boy said.

Grey sighed before shooting a bullet that narrowly sliced through the skin of the boy's leg that he used to step on the chip, as the boy moaned in pain.

She took the chip from underneath his shoe.

"Don't you have assignments to do boy?" She said, as she grabbed his arm. She looked upwards to see a bullet coming for the boy, she pushed him aside but was too late to save herself as the bullet soared through her left arm.

She managed to toss the gun to her right arm and shoot the shooter in his head, causing him to fall from the rail and come crashing almost three storey tall.

The boy faced her now horrified, "Thank you."

"Get the fuck from me." She struggled to stand, as she failed and fell to his hands.

"You can't make it out this way, there are more coming and they will not fail to kill you and obtain the chip." The boy said.

Grey grunted, before standing up thanks to his help and following him out of the apartment.

The boy had place his coat on her head, disguising her as a scared old woman as several other Terrors came dubbing in, none of them knowing about their target passing them.

When they were safely outside, Grey spoke, "Get me to that car."

The boy obeyed and guided her to the car that had a man in it, when they had reached him; Grey secretly pointed the gun at him.

"Get out." She commanded.

The man out of fear, got out as they both entered.

When they were inside, the boy took the wheel and drove off, after which the man knew he would protest and swear after them.

"Where to?" The boy asked, his eyes on the road.

The cars had now decreased in number, booming sounds and explosions whelming and shaking the entire road.

But still, the yet stubborn police were still following them. Scott could still see them following him and a whole new player.

An helicopter unit!

The copter kept firing missed shots at both of them.

He looked through the side mirror to see the police still approaching.

"Dude, we are going to try something sweet yet blight. You sure you are ready for this?" Scott asked.

"I don't fucking know Steel."

Scott nodded directly at his rear mirror, "That's a yes." He then added, "Just move along with the music. "

He took a gun from his glove compartment, and abruptly, he drifted the car towards the fleets of cars at an impressive speed; opening the door quickly and leaning downwards outside the car, his left hand on the wheel.

He half shut his eyes as he raised the gun at the hovering copter; in slow motion, three bullets were released.

One of the bullets found it's way to the pilot's skull, splattering brain gums around and the last two went for the blade.

The dead pilot fell on the copter's wheel, as it went sailing towards the hordes of cars and Scott's.

Immediately seeing it, he quickly moved back into the car and swiftly roved to his front and sped after the fleeing Vlades.

The copter exploded, sending it's blade swinging in the air, before crashing in the midst of the police cars.

A brutal explosion taking place.

Scott had earlier connected with Vlades car and could easily identity his location through the GPS section of the car.

He could see that Vlades was near now, as he kept his leg on the accelerator

After several turns, he could now see Vlades car in front of him; as the man quickly turned sideways when he saw his pursuer meeting up with him.

Scott didn't follow him, he wanted to stop this thing soon enough. He only watched the driver turn forward again.

He smiled before speeding.

But there was one problem; Scott wasn't following him, neither was he driving towards a road.

As it seemed, he was speeding at a mall that stood in the middle of this blank street.

People ran on seeing the car heading for them, as Scott crashed through the glass made door of the mall and speeding through everyone in the mall.

He looked left through the transparent glass of a wall and clearly saw Vlades turning just behind the mall.

He sped through as screams electrified his ear, he crashed through shelves; heading straight for the other side of the building just in time to intercept Vlades.

Vlades drove behind the mall, smiling to himself until a screeching noise came from inside the mall.

He turned, and through the transparent wall he thought he saw a car heading for him.

He didn't get enough time to assume his theory as the car broke through the building and crashed on his car; shifting his own car to the opposite direction.

Scott got down from the car with a long rod and walked to the wrecked car of Vlades. He tore open the door and made to smash his head but was stopped by Vlades pleading scream.

"Anthony Criux!! Anthony Criux is his name. He was the one who sent me!"

Scott faced him angrily and even at this, he still hit the rod on his head.
