Chapter 16 - The Criuxs

/Oklahoma. USA/

The vans trailed after each other through the city lit by colorful sky scrapers, that looked jam-packed and emitted a kind of orange bright hue that filled everywhere.

In the back of the third van sat Grey and five others, she kept loading and cocking her gun, and false firing it to check out the efficiency. She tapped her comm when Hott's voice came in asking about their faring.

"We are good sire, we just arrived at Oklahoma, Corover's home can't be that far anymore. The others have left for Anthony's gala party." She replied, and then nodded before saying this aloud to the driver, "How many more minutes?"

"Ten at the latest." The driver replied while concentrating on the road. Grey looked back at her gun and faced the others in the van.

Scott's Lamborghini stopped in front of a large colorful suite hotel, he stepped down from his car in a black tuxedo and black shade. The other vans following him had parked in a small alley behind this very building and would be here with him in no time.

He jerked his suit and walked past the two bouncers into the French door. He smiled as he had successfully entered the building, surprisingly without no one having to get hurt.

Inside was exactly how he predicted it. Brightening, gold, red, large and a whole lots of successful assholes.

"Looks like Criux wanted quite the crowd." Scott said slowly, before strolling past several influent people. He looked up and could see some of the officials disguised in matching suits, each one looking rather serious and trying to find their target. Scott looked back down and calmly walked to the small drinks counter.

He took his seat and looked back when a voice came in.

"What would you like?"

He turned, expecting the attender, but to his surprise it was a woman in a quite fancy gown that got marvelously hung to her skin. It didn't take him much time to know that she was the daughter of his target... Stella Criux.

"I... Um, aren't you Stella?" He asked.

The woman smiled, "That was a bit fast to figure out, most men start with the flirting part before figuring who I am."

Scott nodded, "Well I am not most men."

"Yeah. Anyways, the bartender went on a short break; mind if I stand in?" She said, leaning on the table.

"I don't get it, if you are Stella, what are you doing here?" He asked.

"This might have been hosted in my name, but it isn't for me. My dad there is the one with the spotlight, not me." She said, pouring a drink into the glass.

Scott turned back to see the same man on Jacob's screen, dancing slowly with some women; using the eyeglass to scan his identity which turned out positive, "Anthony Criux..." He said.

"Yeah right, he is a popular philanthropist, everyone should know him. Except my dad is nothing like you could know." She said not facing him, but the glass.

"Tell me something I don't know." Scott said, before turning back to her, "So this your dad, is there by any chance you could get me to see him?"

She stopped pouring and faced him, "And why's that?"

Scott looked around to see if it was safe, before leaning towards her, "His life is in danger right about now, and if you don't help me get him to safety. Things could go wrong for you."

"How do you know that? You some cop or something?"

"Something." He answered, "Please, I have no much time to explain."

She chuckled, "You think I care? He is better dead to me than alive, his life worth would be transferred to me his daughter. So please... Spare yourself the facade." She said before handing him the glass.

Scott nodded and raised the glass at her, before standing from the seat with the glass and passing the people that danced formally with their friend's wife or probably with their co worker.

He tapped his comm, "Earth to Talia, Earth to Talia."

*Are you really that annoying?* Talia said from the comm disgustingly as the latter snickered.

"We are gonna need plan B on this one." He said, placing the glass of wine that Stella had given him, on the stainless tray held by the butler.

Anthony Criux was busy dancing slowly with the old woman, when a lady walked beside her and spoke.

"May I have the honor?" She asked.

On a normal occasion, he would have said no; but he couldn't say that to this dyed brown hair beautiful young woman. Instead he let go of the older woman and took her hands; placing it on his shoulder and his own at her waist. They danced slowly to the solemn song.

"You have no idea what it means Mr Criux, to finally meet you." She said as they danced towards their right.

The bald old man grinned, "I get that myself, being a rich politician can be stressful sometimes."

"Yes, it can be." She said, not moving her gaze from his face.

"So, what's a beautiful lady like you doing in a old men lounge." He said as they danced slowly.

"Nothing much, like you, I'm also a businesswoman." She replied.

"Oh, interesting. It's of late since young persons like yourself as shown dedication to this line of work." He said.

"I will be damned." She said, before slowly hitting her palm side to his neck concussion, the effect knocking him out. She held him before he could collapse and tapped her comm, "I have Criux."

*Good, bring him in* Scott's voice replied.

Grey pulled her hand from the comm, holding up the unconscious man, she wrapped her hands round his neck and walked them out of the building quickly, to avoid questions. She had just got to the back of the building when two huge men appeared.

"Mr Criux? Are you okay?" One of them asked.

"He is fine, just taking a nap for the meantime." She replied, still supporting his heavy weight.

"He doesn't look fine to me, hands in the air now." The other one said, he reached for his gun but a dart found his way to his neck first; the second one turned and the same fate awaited him too.

Talia watched the two men fall to the ground heavily, as she looked behind her to see some of the disguised agents coming towards her with their 'Dart Shooter'.

"Get this man to the van." She instructed one of them, who gripped him and guided his body to one of the opened van, throwing him into it.

"I never thought F.O.R.C.E could go rouge, mean abduction?" Scott walked from behind her, grinning.

Talia turned to him, "Well, there is always a first time for everything. I just hope this works out well."

"Yeah, just hoping our counterparts her doing fine as we are."

The vans pulled over in front of a large gate, that had a mansion afar off, which resembled a grand sanctuary, except larger.

Moments later, when it seemed like there was no movement. The door of two of the vans swung open and out came Agents with guns and rifles pointing towards the tall gate.

Grey led them stealthily towards the gate, she raised her hand as an agent came with a bazooka like gun and blasted down the gate, atleast part of it. You'd probably expect a thundering noise, but no; not even the slightest squeak was created.

The soldiers moved in with their guns slowly.
