As I walk on the road I decide to put the idea of the hundred swords on hold as I decide to name my guns. I already have the topic to be gemstones but actually naming something takes time, but for now I'll stick with Onyx and Opal.
As we keep walking I toss Angelica an energy pill while we walk and I take one myself as I can see a massive wall in the distance. We keep walking until we enter an open gate to the inside of the city. I look around while pretending to not notice the guard following me.
After another ten minutes I find that the guy Isn't leaving and I'm honestly sick of him.
"Hey Angelica, you must be hungry from the travel, why don't you get something to eat?" She just looks at me for a second before walking off into the crowd and I start walking again.
I keep walking until I get near an alleyway to find myself pulled inside the alleyway. I find myself then being pulled by my other arm away from the alleyway. I quickly shadow step out of their grips and hold them both at knifepoint inside the alley.
Nobody moves for a few seconds before one of them speaks up.
"We can talk about this..." I keep silent before they continue.
"I can give you everything I have if you just let me g-"
"Sir, she was probably going to auction you." The guard interjects with this while the other one pales slightly. I had already figured this, but since she was independent I decapitate her and absorb the body inside my shadow.
I can hear her gulp before she takes a deep breath and continues.
"The Count would like to meet you."
"No" I then take the knives back and I walk away to Angelica, using the some Qi needles I attached to find her. I walk over to an alleyway to find walking out and when I look in I find a few bodies burning with a dark fire.
I pretend to not notice as I walk alongside Angelica and she hands me a donut. I'm surprised but I decide to not question it and enjoy it. After walking inside an inn Angelica gets us to stay at night while I start messing with spells again.
I keep trying to make what Angelica made until I finally make a small ball of dark fire but I could only use it on my string. If it left the string it turned back to normal fire, guess I'll have to keep this up for awhile.
We then enter the inn and I sit on my bed while Angelica sits on one next to me. I find Angelica making all her spells but they all now have the black flames on them and I decide to stop trying to replicate it.
I decide to stop trying to replicate it and I just watch her fire for awhile until she had made a small ball of purple fire circle around the bed until it suddenly pierces through it and lights it on fire. The fire quickly goes out, but the bed wasn't spared.
I get off my bed and I pull out a chair while I remove the remnants from the bed while I pull out a plastic lawn chair I bought a few years back. I set the chair down and sit on it as Angelica just lies down the bed while I keep trying to get more out of superpower.
I keep messing around with my spells until I open my status to find a information window for the power.
I open the window as I read the note I left for myself.
[Light's Bane]
[Light based attacks are rendered ineffective if they don't pass a certain power threshold. While not actually having much to do with darkness the weakness of light will be removed and instead flip it so light has a weakness to darkness. Allows the user to swallow light like oxygen to create shadows or for sustenance, though the latter isn't recommended]
[Light Is The Absence Of Darkness]
Aside from the detailed description of the power, the phrase at the end seems to definitely be important, maybe the power came from statements like this? Where powers just realizing the truth of the universe?
I keep thinking about that until the sun starts to shine and I find that a bunch of clanking armor is approaching the inn, waking Angelica up. She looks at me before I toss her an energy pill while removing any evidence we stayed in the room.
It takes a minute but we then start walking outside while we both release the dark mist while walking away from the guards. When they reach the mist a bunch of screaming can be heard and we simply walk towards the nearest mine.
We didn't kill anyone, but waking up to a fog of darkness would be pretty horrifying, so I keep practicing some basic wind and lighting magic until I accidentally fuse the two into a massive drill of wind crackling with lighting.
I quickly shrink it down to the size of a finger and I send it to a nearby tree to find having a massive hole in it while also being fried. I keep walking until we reach the area of the map that was supposed to have the mine.
When we reach there though, we were greeted by a bunch of armored goblins and a few red ones along with the average fodder ones you'd expect.
I always did wonder what color goblin blood was.
