Adrian's POV
Actually, I want to fill her in on every detail. But I am very afraid if she gets it wrong, is upset with me, or even decides to send me back to the dungeon. I won't talk too much because of this. It's best to talk about things that aren't harmful because if I don't, she might interpret that as disobedience.
Back to Present Moment
'In all honesty, I'm not sure what I think of this place. We chatted about topics like that as Adenos and I sought to get to know one another, our likes and dislikes, and what we have in common.' He said in a low voice without establishing eye contact, "It was actually a good week for us to get acquainted to one other.'
Aida's POV
Before Adrian could speak, he clasped his hands together. It is impossible not to see him squeezing his fingers to make a decision. What decision will he make now? Will he obey and speak, or not? He did decide to speak. I watched him as he talked. He never turned to look at me during this time. He obviously has a great fear of me. He has no faith in me at all. Distrust is seeping out of all of Adrian's pores.
Is this not normal? I first said him that he would stay with us, than I send him to dungeon, then I ordered liquid silver to be injected into him , than now he is here. He probably won't say anything else.
Present Moment
'Is that all, you only talked about each other?; Her conversation was interrupted when Adenos entered the living room with a coffee mug in his hand.
'We naturally talked about our mum. Adrian, isn't that correct?' Turning to Adrian, Adenos questioned. Adrian's unease was only heightened by this question.
'Well, yes we talked about her too.' And he rolled his eyes at Adenos. For the first time since Aida entered, Adrian had diverted his eyes from his hands to Adenos.
Aida's POV
'Ahh yes, he doesn't trust me. Another proof of it, but he still trusts Adenos, it's extremely intriguing.' Aida pondered.
The thought of Adrian trusting Adenos and not trusting her made her feel jealous. Realizing that she was jealous of Adenos, Aida was ashamed and shook her head to get rid of that thought. However, she could not suppress a low growl rising from her throat. Adenos also sense the difference in Aida's thoughts but first he could not make sense of it.
Adenos, who has known Aida since they were young children, couldn't help but smile when he heard that low snarl.
When Aida saw that Adenos was grinning, she sternly told him, "Don't say anything!"
Adrian observed them with confusion, unable to make sense of what was happening. However, he was relieved when he realized that they both agreed on a point.
'What? What, to whom shall I not tell?' He was smiling during this entire conversation and started moving around as if he were going to attack Aida.
'This will not end well, Adenos, I say stop!' warned Aida.
However, Adenos playfully waved a paw at Aida. Aida took a defensive position as well, and she too began circling him.
'Isn't this place too small for this fight, Adenos, stop now or the whole cottage will fall apart. If you continue I cannot be responsible.'
'Okay, okay!' said Adenos and raised his hands to show that he gave up.
'It's good to joke around like in the old days. You still get serious when it comes to fighting as usual, Aida. Just relax, I was just kidding. Besides, I like the fact that you're still jealous of me. Just like in the old days.' he said, laughing.
Adrian stood still, observing everything. He cherished the closeness that existed between Aida and Adenos. Could he have such a close relationship with them? Would they share common secrets?
He felt the need to share the closeness he saw in Adenos and Aida's eyes. Unwittingly, he smiled at their laughter.
He desperately yearned to be accepted by someone or anything. His notion that he could laugh at something and be joyful had disappeared because he had been abandoned so much over the previous two years. However, the realization that he was currently among his siblings made him feel warm inside and strengthened his faith that his life will eventually change for the better.
He thought that Adenos liked him. After spending a week together, he was convinced that this feeling was genuine. Adenos wanted to make him happy by preparing his favorite meals because he liked him. They had shared a lot of laughs this week. They talked about their early memories. It was incredible. Now Aida arrived. He had the impression that she had been a serious, tough young woman. But now he could see that she was also full of joy. As Adenos had done for him, he wished for her to accept him as well. He had no clue, though, how he would win her approval.
