On the border of Namenia, Matt was lying in the depths of a cave, unconscious from massive blood loss. As he gradually regained consciousness, he became aware of two individuals conversing by his side. Determined to remain unnoticed, he decided to eavesdrop on their conversation.
A woman's voice pierced through the darkness, filled with a mix of frustration and concern.
"I warned you, didn't I? These wolves would never leave us. But you chose not to listen!" Her words carried a sense of urgency as if the situation had escalated beyond their control.
"Now we're left to deal with this wounded wolf, and who knows, maybe even his entire pack."
A man's voice responded, his tone filled with a mix of frustration and contemplation.
"Give me a moment to think, will you?" he exclaimed, his voice echoing through the cave. The urgency in his words hinted at the gravity of the situation they found themselves in.
The woman's voice grew sharper, laced with anger. "You think right now! Did you ever consider the consequences before you plunged that silver blade into the wolf?" Her words dripped with frustration, as if she couldn't fathom the man's lack of foresight.
The atmosphere crackled with tension as Matt listened them intently, his heart pounding with anticipation. The stakes were high, and it was clear that their actions had set off a chain of events.
Matt's POV
They stabbed me with a silver knife, God! I'm not feeling well at all. I can't even form a mind link. Something's blocking my communication. Either I'm far away from civilization or there's some kind of interference. Who are these people and what do they want from me?
Then, slowly but surely, it started to remember when I encountered them. While patrolling the border, all week we have seen some disturbances on the air but never got any chance to catch who they were. I immediately informed the others when I sensed a slight disturbance in the air and started closely monitoring the fluctuations. Suddenly, two individuals appeared out of nowhere right in front of me, causing me to take a few steps back. It was as if they had emerged from the void. Despite their surprise at seeing me, they approached me. The woman reached out her hand, casually asking, "Hey, aren't you Matt?" as if everything was normal.
The woman's long, wavy hair was messily bunned on the top of her head, with a few strands of wavy hair swinging down to her cheek. She was tall, and her big blue eyes looked at Matt with curiosity from behind her long lashes. Her nose was straight, and her lips were shaped like a heart. The man had blue eyes like her, framed by long lashes, and his long blond hair was pulled back at the nape of his neck with a hairpin. His jaw was square, and it was clenched in a way that showed he was stubborn. He was tall, and his body was not muscular. By looking at him, Matt couldn't say that he was a Warrior. Matt felt a surge of irritation and decided to focus his attention on the woman.
"Both of you, who are you and what are you doing on our pack's lands?" he asked angrily, his voice laced with suspicion.
Her voice trembling with uncertainty. "Well, actually, we're not interested in your pack at all. We've been looking for you for a while. To be more specific, ever since we learned that you were on border patrol."
The tension in the air was palpable, and the woman's voice hinted at a secret yet to be revealed. Matt's intense gaze remained fixed on her and the man, a mix of curiosity and annoyance playing across his face. The mysterious circumstances were just the beginning, and it was clear that there was more to this encounter than met the eye.
Indeed, the enigmatic encounter had only just begun, and the mysteries surrounding the two strangers were deepened. As Matt's recollection continued, he remembered more of the conversation:
"What do you want from me?" Matt demanded, his eyes narrowing, sensing that there was something amiss.
