"I am not your Master," Chris said with an apologetic look on his face.
"What? How is that possible? What have you done to my Master? Who are you?" she said, getting up from the floor in agitation.
Chris picked up her towel and wrapped her with it.
"I died, and just happened to wake up in your Master's body."
That was as simple as he could word it, "I would like to get along, Is that alright?"
She looked at him suspiciously, but eventually, she nodded in agreement, "OK, what are you planning to do then?"
"I would like to get along with you and the others," he said, extending his hand towards her.
"Let's get along together? Then why won't you sleep with me?" She asked.
"It's because it goes against my principles," Chris replied, close to tears. "What principles are those?" She sounded unconvinced.
"The type that doesn't let me sleep with anyone," Chris wondered where this was going.
"Must be hard," she looked at his with pity.
"Very…" Chris replied, surprised by her unexpected concern.
…
"Alright, I'll talk to the others," Mephistelle said as she walked towards the door.
"Thanks for understanding," Chris said, leading her out of the room.
"Will you be coming to dinner?" She belatedly asked, as she was about to leave.
"No, I'd rather stay here and get used to things," he bade her goodbye and slammed the door.
"OK Master, do as you please," she said, as the corners of her lips curled up in to a devilish grin.
"So, I'm a demon now," he sighed, looking at his horns standing straight above his head.
Anna laid down on the floor of the penthouse, drunk. She couldn't believe she had lost everything in the blink of an eye, she had perfectly orchestrated Chris's life to drive him into the pits of despair. She had hijacked all his job interviews, threatening and paying off anyone who tried to employ him, she had ruined all his businesses and sent various usurers (loan sharks) his way. Not only that, but she had even gone as far as staging his mother's accident and met with his father, telling him various lies about Chris and breaking their already fragile relationship. All for that one night.
She had turned him into a destitute, making his life lonely and unbearable, before reaching out to him. She had even gone as far as spending a lot of money to purchase various enchantment potions, and even after applying the contract three times just to steal his soul, but he still got away. The brotherhood had warned her that he had a strong soul, and that was why she had taken so many precautions, but how could a human being have that strong of a soul. Furthermore, she had to find a way to get his soul before she lost hers, but she couldn't even find him, so what was she supposed to do? "You ungrateful bastard. Where are you? Where in the world could you be?"
Even after hiring various assassins along with numerous skilled trackers and paying for information from the guild, she still couldn't find him, she had already gone through all her savings just to find one imbecile. What was she supposed to do now? She passed out on the floor.
Meanwhile,
Mephistelle had called a meeting,
"What's going on, why are you disturbing us, don't you have anything better to do?" Luanns asked, curious about Mephistelle suddenly asking for their audience, 'why is she suddenly caring about us,' she thought.
"She's right, why isn't Master here, doesn't he attend all the meetings," Ocular said.
"Why don't you go and call him, aren't you one of his favourites?" Yemenia spoke.
"Now we're not here to fight, Mephistelle has important news for us, let's all hear what she has to say," Durham said while calling order to the gathering, she was the calmest one of them after all.
"Hmm? That b**** is probably scheming on how to have our Master all to herself, she keeps acting like we are not even there, and it's starting to tick me off," Gruella huffed angrily, "she just doesn't know when to stop."
"Exactly," Lushen shouted, "why else would Master drive everyone away and let her remain?"
"His being a d***, after getting ignored by her, he always runs back to her like a fool, his completely under her thumb," Arantis raised her voice closing her book.
"If we are going to do so much to prepare a feast for him, and you don't like it, don't come, especially when you're the reason he ended up in that state." Caribal retorted.
Pyres, June and Soloyst remained silent.
"Maggid, why don't you get your ass out of your room for once, and come talk to us," there was no answer, "what is that child doing always locking herself up in her room, when she's always wagging her tail in front of that demon?" Durham asked.
Mephistelle cleared her throat, before starting, "I have important news for you all."
"What could it possibly be?" Luanns asked.
"Probably about her and Master not needing us any more," Pyres replied.
'These fools,' Mephistelle thought.
"Right, I can totally see that happening, she must have finally convinced him, it's about time, ha ha," Soloyst giggled.
"No, that's not why I called everyone here," Mephistelle scoffed.
"Then what is it? Oh, most treasured possession of our Master." Pyres smirked.
Mephistelle sighed, 'they aren't listening.'
"Just listen to me," she yelled. They were starting to get on her nerves. If not for the fact that she needed them, she would have never bothered with them in the first place, "The current Master is not our Master."
"What?" they were all shocked.
"What do you mean by that? Explain yourself properly," Arantis said, standing up from her seat in anger, she had no time for Mephistelle's games.
"I'm saying that the current Master isn't our Master, but simply someone who currently possesses our Master's body. All we have to do is kill him, and we'll be free," She ended with a gleeful smile.
"What load of bull**** are you saying? Have you finally gone mad?" Gruella asked Mephistelle, "Is this another one of your scheme's?"
"Even if it were, why would she tell you?" June replied mockingly.
"How can the current Master not be our Master? How do you know that?" Durham asked unconvinced.
"It's easy, he told me himself, plus I checked, and he doesn't remember anything, neither does he know how to use the powers of a demon."
"So, how do we trust you? This might just be another one of your ploys, are we supposed to go along with it just like that? You won't be coming with us, is that it?" Arantis scoffed.
"No, it's different this time," that damn Arantis always so sharp, "I'll be coming with you, and I'll be at the front." She said with a brilliant smile plastered on her face.
Just then, Manael's door creaked open, "Are you serious? Are you really going to kill him?" she asked expectantly.
"Of course, it's about time we got out of here, this night is our best chance since he will believe that I've convinced you all to be with him, so it will be easy." Mephistelle spoke gleefully.
'What a fool, trusting Mephistelle with such a task,'Luanns thought, "Her thirst for betrayal knows no bounds, especially since she's always hated the Master."
"Well then, it's settled, we will be attacking the imposter this night, and leaving this damn Dungeon behind, who's in?" Mephistelle yelled in an attempt to garner support.
"Well, since Mephistelle is going, I don't see why not," June spoke up first.
"True," Gruella replied.
Even Ariantis and Manael had joined in the plan, and with that meeting came to an end.
Of course Mephistelle was never planning for them to escape together, but for her to escape alone, she would use them and land the killing blow before escaping from here by herself. It wasn't the first time she had killed the Master, but he kept on reviving like a cockroach. She was sure the last time would be the last, but then an unknown soul had taken over his body. She would ensure that this would be the very last, and even if he did revive, the girls could have him, after all, they seemed to care about him very much…
Chris was up late into the night getting used to his new body. He had finally adjusted and had managed to retrieve a few memories from his body, some of which were not all pleasant. As he laid in bed he figured that Mephistelle would be done convincing the others, he could finally speak to them, and ask them some questions, when suddenly he got up.
"This is getting interesting," Chris said with an expectant smile on his face.
