Chapter 6 - 1500 years

"1500 years! 1500 years! The f****** demon avatar of perversion, failed to clear the 1st floor of this f****** dungeon for, 1500 years!" Chris couldn't believe it.

{Would you like to view your rewards?}

'What on earth was he going to get from clearing a dungeon after 1500 years?' He clicked on the screen in front of him.

{You are rewarded with, 1 Cold Widow grass, and 10 beast slots.}

"What?" Chris was confused.

'The hell!' Chris thought, 'what the hell am I supposed to do with this?'

"I cleared a dungeon after 1000 years, and that's all I get?" Chris felt like he was in a nightmare, he wanted to wake up, he couldn't imagine how shitty the rest of the dungeon would be. He guessed that it would be infinitely embarrassing, he had to get out of here or else he would suffer.

{Clear conditions - Kill one incarnation of evil?}

{Result: 11 of 12 incarnations and 1 clone.}

{Bonus rewards: 5 coins}

'Damn, again? 5 coins, what the f*** am I supposed to do with 5 coins, and there was a clone, the hell,'

Chris's mind wandered, 'he didn't know the girls. One of them had been a clone, but the dungeon had closed. Where was she? Will she survive? If he had cleared the 1st door, then had she ceased to exist? He didn't know what would happen, so he decided to give up on wondering.

{You are in possession of one demon soul, would you like to tame it?}

The system voice came up again.

{Current time until soul disintegration is 10 seconds. }

"What should I do with this?" Chris said to himself, staring at the system interface.

"Since I barely have anything, I might as well use it," Chris sighed as he clicked on the interface.

{Legendary Attribute – Demonic Beast tamer acquired.

Title Engaged. }

"Nice!" Chris exclaimed. All he did was accept to tame the soul of a demon, and now he had become a demon beast tamer. Chris enjoyed this unexpected windfall.

{Beast Soul binding successful, beginning conversion into demonic beast.}

{Please select your preference; this will decide your tamed beast species, and cannot be re-set, from now on you will only be able to turn all beast souls you collect into said specie}

"What the hell? A dog? Not a wolf or a Werewolf?" Chris was starting to get skeptical.

Meanwhile,

Mephistelle floated around in a cage, she was engulfed in darkness, and could only hear the eerie creaks and cracks from the space she was confined in.

"Where did it go wrong?" She had escaped death by making a clone of herself; June.

Her clone hadn't joined in the ambush, thanks to that she was able to survive.

Mephistelle was tired.

She wanted to rest.

She didn't care any more.

"It doesn't matter," both her revenge against the celestial bodies, and her conquest of evil meant nothing to her any more. She had given up and accepted her confinement. She had finally found rest.

She laughed at all the trivial things she had done before, "What was it all for?" She remembered Luanns, Pyres, Soloists, Arantis, Manael and the rest whom she greatly envied, "What was it all for?"

They were all dead, and their purpose gone, she had lost to the lowly avatar of Perversion. Not only that, but she had been his play thing for a thousand years, and she couldn't even get her revenge even when it wasn't the real avatar.

Feeling powerless she laughed at herself again, "have I fallen this far?"

She decided to quit while she was ahead, struggling would only result in more losses. She had her life intact, and she didn't want to lose that. Thus she decided that if she ever lived again it would be as the opposite of herself, she despised the celestial bodies, but they were right to trap her, she would have brought about untold destruction to the universe. She hated this, "Why did I choose the wrong side?" She sniffled, "they easily sold me away after they were done with me, and I like a fool, chose to place my anger on the celestials."

She giggled maniacal, "Aright, let's start afresh, if I ever get the chance." As she was lost in thought, she neither felt herself ascend from the cage surrounding her, nor did she see the smiling celestial beside her.

Chris looked at the screen with only 12 seconds left to spare. He had deliberated over it as much as he could, he had finally made his choice, 'I have always wanted to own a pack of dogs, I might as well start one now.'

"It will be great!" he shouted, convincing himself as he grinned form ear to ear.

'If I'm going to be stuck here for the rest of my life, I might as well be stuck with something I'm familiar with.'

He couldn't imagine being stuck with any one of those creatures for the rest of his life, but who could blame Chris, he had never played a single video game. He didn't even understand the subject or the opportunity he had just lost, as we know, Ignorance is bliss, and Chris was about to gain from that.

As Chris chose dogs, a bright light flashed across the screen, and in its place an exquisite Dobermor stood before him.

"Is this real? I finally got a dog! Come here boy!" Chris was excited, he finally got to own his first dog after dying.

'The saying was true, "as long as there was life, there was hope."

"Woof!" barked the dog, who was looking at Chris with a face mixed with fear, and confusion, "What is going on? I'm a dog? Since when?"

The Dobermor fainted from the shock it was experiencing for the first time in it's entire life.
