Lily didn't move where she stood. She suddenly felt indecisive when she had to walk up to Matthew, standing not far from her. They stared at each other, but neither of them dared to approach. Both Lily and Matthew were silent where they stood.
When Lily was about to approach Matthew, Pascal suddenly came to Matthew and whispered to him. Lily saw Matthew nod slowly at Pascal. After that, Matthew glanced at Lily briefly and turned to follow Pascal. Lily could only swallow her saliva after Matthew had just walked away from her.
Lily finally turned around and looked for Alona. She sat beside Alona with a long sigh when she found Alona seated among the guests who came to the Williams residence.
"Have you spoken to him?" asked Alona.
Lily shook her head. "I haven't had a chance to talk to Matthew yet."
Alona frowned. "Why haven't you spoken to him yet? Aren't you two just a few steps away?"
