After misguiding a minotaur to kill off his brethren one by one, Blake finished off the 'traitorous' minotaur before he headed to the next floor.
Floor 50
Blake was sitting cross legged in a field of flowers as he was deep in meditation when he suddenly heard a familiar voice calling out to him. 'Blake! Blake! Where are you?'
When he heard this familiar voice, Blake's brows furrowed for a bit before he opened his eyes and proceeded to let out a big laugh. 'Hahaha! Horu! You finally came out!'
Blake has been progressing through the dungeon for several days now since Horu had wandered into the Maze of Grace on floor 16 previously. He initially thought he had to clear 100 floors first before Horu returned, so Horu contacting him now in floor 50 gave Blake a pleasant surprise. Not only that, since Horu was still on floor 16 whereas Blake was on floor 50, Blake could still hear Horu's panic stricken voice. This goes to show that Horu was indeed strong.
Horu was currently a Void King of 1008 Ancestral Void Council, he had Void King cultivation as well as understood the Dao of the Void deeply. He had studied the Void for so long that he had already created several high class techniques involving the Void like [Cosmic Crush] where he utilizes Void elements to grip and crush enemies. Or [Comet Shower Palm], where Horu rains down palms made of Void elements at his enemies.
As for his unique secret technique {Abyssal God Transformation}, after he integrated his understanding of the Dao of the Void into his secret technique, it evolved into {Cosmic Entity Transformation}. In addition, his soul was also very powerful. The fact that Horu was able to send a Spiritual Sense message from floor 16, passed through the multiple layers and barriers of the dungeon before reaching Blake on floor 50 would have stunned many Spiritual Masters under the Heavens.
Floor 16
When he heard Blake's voice and found that his target of protection was okay, Horu sighed a breath of relief.
He had accidentally wandered into the Maze of Grace without knowing anything. He had tried to break the walls and escape but the walls were unbreakable. He had also tried teleporting out of there using [Void Jump] but it seemed that the dungeon's creator, Malkai had undoubtedly thought of a countermeasure for this too. As soon as Horu sliced open Space and entered the Void, the Maze of Grace quaked and rumbled till the Space hole destabilized and collapsed, spitting Horu out in the process.
Seeing that Space was sealed and even Void travel was restricted, Horu had no choice but to exit the maze by foot. It took him 3 days at a time to explore one section of the maze, and there were 5 sections in total! Forcing him to spend 15 days in the Maze of Grace to search for parts of a key before he could get out.
The walls were unbreakable, the Void was restricted, the path he came from had long disappeared and his own Spiritual Sense was restricted to only 100 meter radius of himself, Horu was truly depressed. He was an almighty Void King, Lord of the Abyss realm and a bodyguard sent by the 1008 Ancestral Void Council to guard Blake Chaos, the reincarnate of the legendary antihero, the Angel Executioner. Yet, he was stuck inside a maze made by some Shadow God from some unknown tier Inner Circle Realm.
After trying all kinds of tricks and not succeeding, Horu realized it was impossible to cheat his way out unless he completed the challenges of the maze. The Maze of Grace, although sounded nice, was a horrifying, creepy, dark and gloomy maze. The walls were smeared with blood as the torches hanging on the walls were made of bones, the flames were blue too that would give normal people a chilly vibe. The floors were constantly wet because there was no sunlight here nor did the torches give off any heat. Every step Horu took sank as he peeked through corner to corner before he advanced.
As for the monsters he encountered in the maze, he didn't need to lift a finger. The monsters were just too scared to even look at him, much less lunge at him. Even the lich boss found in the 3rd section of the maze immediately kowtowed before Horu, begging him to spare his puny, insignificant life.
Horu decided to let him go as the lich even gifted him a legendary item, {Band of the Undead God}. Horu looked at it for a moment before he stuffed it away in his space ring. He was planning to give this to Blake to build rapport between him and his target.
In fact, there was actually a side mission requested of him by the council, and it was to recruit Blake into the council to fill the Special Void Dragons' captain position. Sadly, Horu didn't have a high enough clearance to know what was this Special Void Dragons else he probably would have prioritized making Blake his close friend.
After collecting all of the required pieces from the sections, Horu infused each piece with his Spiritual Energy. A while later, the pieces vibrated as a buzzing sound rang out. Horu then placed the pieces together on the pedestal as per instructions given by the lich previously. When placed next to each other, the pieces vibrated even stronger and the buzzing sound became even louder until Horu had to cut the pieces off from the current layer and into the Void.
He breathed a sigh of relief for his ears before he noticed that the vibrating pieces were actually transforming and combining into a black cube. Seeing that the buzzing noises had stopped, Horu plucked the black cube out before placing it on the pedestal again.
Staring at the black cube, Horu thought that the black cube seemed mysterious. It was a solid black cube with golden runes and foreign markings engraved splashed about the surfaces of the black cube. As a Void King, Horu's specialty wasn't that he's strong, but that he had pretty deep knowledge about runes and markings and was able to decipher most riddles and messages found in runes. But as of now, Horu had never seen these symbols, so he was at a loss on how to continue from here.
Horu then spent another 4 days recalling symbols he had seen from memory before he finally found it.
"So these symbols are part of the Mythonian language...Interesting! This Malkai person must have been a Mythonian himself, otherwise how else could he have known this ancient race's language??" Horu didn't ponder for too long though, as he was worried about his target's wellbeing. After a while, Horu finally showed a look of enlightenment. "So, if I pour Spiritual Energy into the cube to a certain degree, will I be able to get out? Eh, seems easy enough."
Closing his eyes, Horu began to madly pour Spiritual Energy into the cube while thinking of Blake. Not in a romantic way, but in a protective friend kind of way. Horu suddenly thought back to the time he accidentally walked in on Blake showering and immediately blushed. Okay nevermind, he's gay. But Blake was 100% straight. It was also at this exact moment where the black cube exploded into dust as Horu was teleported out of the Maze of Grace.
It took Horu a minute to return to his senses, his face however was still as red as a tomato. He was a 2000 year old married Void King with no children. It's fine to see Blake as his child but not as a romantic interest....
A) They were 2 millennia apart in age.
B) Blake only liked girls.
C) His current wife would never agree to him having a harem.
As Blake made his way up from the 50th floor, Horu was trying hard to quell his mixed emotions.
