2 years later…
Blake looked around the house one more time before he stepped through the tear in space and entered the Void. Horu was already waiting for him on the other side.
"Are you sure you're not going to miss this place?" Horu glanced at Blake.
"Yeah, I had fun here but nothing makes me more sad than not being at home." Blake confirmed. "Now, wipe that smile off your face and guide me home, Horu."
Horu nodded before his face turned serious. They were currently in the Void, one wrong move and they could die. The Void was a mysterious place, it encompassed the whole multiverse from head to toe.
As the multiverse continues to grow, the Void follows. Since Space was destroyed during a universe level battle millions of years ago, the Void has become the new Space as well as the new foundation of the Magic Martial Multiverse.
To use the Void to travel between realms was extremely dangerous, according to the known factors like Void Storms that occur once every 28 days in 5 billion different intervoid travel locations. Void Storms are storms you can find within the Void and are mostly comprised of chaotic Void elements mixed with Shattered Space Shards swirling together in a tornado.
These Void Storms were considered dangerous after some idiotic God grade Alchemists tried to refine High Void Pills within them. No wait, even before that incident, Void storms already had the capability to shred through Golden Body Body Grandmasters as well as Peak God realm cultivators.
Another factor that made Void travel dangerous was due to the existence of Void Beasts. Ethereal Beasts born from the fusion of elements found within the Void itself. They have the battle prowess of at least a Magic Saint or Martial Angel and have the capability of sensing enemies from 50km away.
In the worst case scenario if a Void Beast detected you and started howling first, you only had two available options.
Either fight it head on while praying that other Void Beasts nearby hadn't heard the Void Beast Summoning Cry or, use your most powerful escaping technique to flee from the initial Void Beast until one of you runs out of strength.
Neither option sounds great but they are your best options if you were either weak or had never dabbled in the Dao of the Void.
"Remember Blake, anything that we encounter in the Void, be it the weakest Void beasts or a band of space pirates, we must proceed with caution. Because even though they are extremely weak in my eyes, they can still kill you with one hit." Horu said solemnly.
Hearing the solemn tone when Horu gave him the warning, Blake indeed felt scared for a moment but it went away as fast as it appeared. He has been preparing for this moment since my awakening on that train 6 years ago.
If he backed out now, Blake didn't know when this opportunity would ever appear again, since he knew Horu would leave if he felt scared and refused. 'I'm a Magic Emperor now, and I have a Void King as my bodyguard....there's nothing to be afraid of!' Hardening his resolve to return home, Blake nodded.
"Alright, let's get going then! The faster we leave, the less of a chance we will meet disaster!" Horu fist bumped the air before he began manipulating the chaotic space principles around them into a bubble. "And, we're off!"
Manipulating the chaotic space principles once more, Horu along with Blake were shoved into the pitch black Void while being protected by the bubble.
1 week later...
In between the High grade Outer realms and Low grade Middle realms, the 1008 Ancestral Void Council has erected borders to prevent people from the Middle realms finding trouble and exploit the resources found in the Lower realms.
For anybody wanting to pass through the border and travel in between the two realm circles, the border guardians, namely Void Saints and a couple of Void Kings stationed there, will ask for your name and reason for travel.
Anybody wanting to travel in between realms solely for the purpose of 'visiting someone' will be executed on the spot since that's usually code word used between human traffickers.
Of course, lying wouldn't work either since the entire border was equipped with the latest high tech lie detectors.
Safely reaching the circle border by bubble, a Void King was dispatched from the border office to welcome the two and to make sure that the child does not get lost within the borders later.
"Junior Void King Rex greets Senior Void King Horu and junior Blake. I was dispatched to welcome you guys after the border office received news about your arrival yesterday. Please follow me closely so as to not get lost within the circle borders. After you've checked in with the border office, you can be on your way."
As Rex led the way, Blake couldn't help but marvel at the scenes he saw. It was his first time as a cultivator to witness weaponized space ships and cultivator airships flying side by side together in the Void.
Looking through the window of a corridor, Blake saw beings of all races interacting with each other without discrimination too. Be it humans, elves, demons or even cyborgs, they were interacting with each other just fine.
Finally reaching a metal door, Rex swiped a card before taking a step back. When the metal doors opened, Blake couldn't help but gasp out loud. "This...Isn't this hyperspace?!"
"Hyperspace Elevators to be exact. Since the Outer realms exist in a lower plane compared to the Middle realms, the Council has installed these elevators every 5 km of the border walls for a fast and easy travel." Rex looked at Horu first before he explained.
"The border office exists in a plane of its own between the two planes of the Outer realms and Middle realms and thus requires us to use the Hyperspace Elevator to travel there. Without the card of an official council member, one can only travel between the 30 planes that exist between this part of the border and the border office."
"I don't understand but I'll just pretend like I do so that we can speed up this process faster! So, if I enter the portal here, I'll appear in front of the border office?" [Blake]
Rex and Horu nodded.
