Getting off the couch slowly, Jake put the vase on the coffee table.
His lips were trembling as he tried to hold the surging emotion inside him. It felt unreal for him to finally see his father. In his entire life, Jake only saw his father's image from the photo he kept. Yet, her mother had left her memories with his father in their old house which left uninhabited until today.
"You are my father...?" Jake asked in a whisper tone.
Ray nodded, looking at Jake with a proud look. "How do you do, my son?" Ray smiled and walked with arms opened, ready to hug his only child.
"Wait, stay there!" Jake retorted, extending his left arm with palm open and facing forward.
"My father was supposed to be dead. I knew you were a fake one! Look where are we? Only a few people knew this house, and it means this is not real... This must be in my Somnia!" Jake snapped as he grabbed the vase from the coffee table and threw it toward Ray.
However, with a swaying of his arm, Ray managed to catch the vase without breaking it. Looking at the vase, Ray reminisced about the time he got it from his uncle as a wedding gift.
"This vase cost a lot, you shouldn't toss it like that, Jake." Gazing at Jake, Ray reminded his son.
"Cut the crap! I have to go and submit my homework! You better get me out of here without killing me!"
Hearing those words from the son, Ray couldn't contain his laughter. After a moment, Ray regained his composure cause Jake didn't seem to be joking around. Unbeknownst to Ray Windfield, Jake had noticed an odd when he landed his gaze upon the golden-black wall clock. The hands of the wall clock were slowed down.
"Okay, it seems that we cannot have a proper talk without me explaining the situation." Jake took his steps and moved towards a couch in front of Jake.
"Take a seat." With a polite gesture, Ray asked. He put the vase back to the coffee table and sat himself down.
"First of all, I like how you analyze the situation first, and your deduction was quite impressive actually."
"Like I said...."
Before Jake could finish his words, Ray raised his right hand with his palm facing forward.
"Can you stop whining when your dad talks? You said you want me to send you out of here, didn't you?"
Gulping his anger, Jake took a deep breath and sat down. "Fine. Take your time, but you had to keep your word!"
"I'm the man of my word, Son." Ray nodded with a trace of approval on his curled lips.
Seeing his son wasn't impressed, Ray cleared his throat and made a look of seriousness in his eyes.
"You are correct, we are indeed in your dream world. However, I'm not your enemy or manifestation of Phobeon as your thought." Ray spoke.
"Phobeon, what was that?"
As a person who hadn't identified as Magian, it was normal for Jake to not know what Phobeon was.
The Dreamworld or Somnia consisted of three things according to the Book of Origin. There were namely Morpheon that appeared in human form, Phobeon in the form of beast, demon, or monster, and Phantheon that appeared in the form of inanimate objects such as roads or buildings.
The Book of Origin was a must-have book for a Magian like Jake. Sadly, he didn't think that he would need it soon because he had been worried that he was not destined to be a Magian before. And now, as the transmigration occurred, Jake didn't remember it at all.
Hearing the response from his son, Ray frowned in disbelief. "You didn't know it? It was one of three elements that build your Somnia!"
Jake let out a soft sigh and then tried to look back at his father's eyes which filled with a vague disappointment. "Look... I have awoken my power last night, so basically I'm no different than a newborn. How am I supposed to know about those things?"
"What are you blabbering about?! Do you think I am joking, Jake Windfield?!"
Jake was stunned after hearing Ray's exclamation. He didn't have a clue where was his mistake. To be honest, Jake hadn't trusted his father in front of him fully. However, even when his mind had a doubt, his heart told him otherwise. He could sense the pure feeling of affection from Ray.
"No, not at all, but I said the truth! I couldn't even tell what kind of power I had!" Feeling misjudged, Jake retorted while hoping his father would understand.
"Seriously? Wait a minute, something was off." Ray muttered.
Straightening his back, Ray touched his chin with two fingers as he pondered. "If you awoke your Psychomagic last night, then how did you enter this place?"
"What do you mean, this is my dream world, right? Of course, it was because I lost my consciousness." Jake replied with a serious tone, looking confused.
"No, you don't understand. Somnia was built according to someone's most special environment, or the most memorable one. As for you, it was around Scania sports park, right?"
"So that was... yeah, you are correct. But, what is the correlation between the park and this house?"
"Somnia was consisted of nine levels, from the center spread out toward the outer region. This place was an artificial world that I had created. I placed it in the same spot of our home because it was in the same level I wanted which is level 5. So, how did manage to get in here?"
"What about your guess?" Interrupted Jake.
Ray shook his head while he curled his mouth downward, indicating have no answer.
"Hold on! It is just an assumption, but probably it was because you have an Irregular brain! Yeah, that is the most rational explanation."
About this one, Jake knew exactly because having a special brain related to entering Somnia. After he got the same nightmares looping in his dream, Jake was told about it by Chloe. However, he didn't know the detail about the excess of having an Irregular brain.
In this world, every Magian had a special brain that produced a certain chemical named genytocin and the amount was dependent on the bloodline rank. A small percentage of the Magians had a superior brain called The Irregular Brain which gave the person advanced mind-related ability.
"Can you tell me more detail about what is special about it?"
Ray switched his gaze toward his son when Jake's voice sounded in his ear.
Ray sighed, looking at Jake with an ambiguous face. "Don't tell me you have not read the Book of Origin yet?" Ray furrowed his eyebrows, anticipating Jake's answer.
