Chapter 6 - She Could Be An Idol

After Chloe's figure was far away, Jake strolled over the pathway to the class because it would start in a few minutes.

The Arcadia Academy was so wonderful. From the gate to the main building, there was the main pathway surrounded by gardens and greenfields on both sides. There was a fountain right in the middle of the pathways, forming a letter 8-shaped route.

The buildings were made of limestone painted in vermillion red, looked very solid with the characteristic Arcadian colors. Three buildings served as classes and facilities for students, labs, offices, and dormitories for some students from lower-class families who are accepted through scholarships. There was also an indoor gymnasium on the very east of the second building.

The Classes were classified according to the student's entrance exam. Although anyone could be part of the Academy with enough money, The officials had to do screening and ranking, so the students with the highest potentials could be gathered and be more focused on. The rankings were from the lowest class E to the highest class A.

Unfortunately, Jake was accepted in class E, in contrast to Chloe wherein class A. The disparity was like heaven and earth, too big. Jake was undoubtedly not dumb. However, because he got used to depending on Chloe since middle school, he became a lazy ass person, and study only when exams were nearing.

Not long after Jake came to class E, the bell of the class rang out. He sat down in his favorite place, the back corner of the room.

"Have you done your homework?"

When he was about to lay his head on the table with his right hand as a cushion, a student sitting in front of him threw a question.

Jake lifted his vision to the girl who looked friendly with a gorgeous look, shook his head before ignoring the student named Miria, and rested his head again.

Seeing Jake acting a little weird, Mirie took out a book from her bag and put it on Jake's desk.

"Did you have another nightmare? I hope you are okay. Here, you can copy mine." she said warmly.

Jake sighed softly. He dived into his memory and knew a fact that the girl before him had been Jake's closest friend in class. Every time they got homework, Miria offered her work. Of course, The Jake nerd took that help for granted.

As the two looked at each other, Jake could tell that Miria had feelings for him from the way she looked at him. However, the former Jake thought that the girl was only kind.

Considering her character and look, Miria was pretty lovely. If She was born in South Korea, Jake was certain that she had the quality to become a popular idol. Even though Miria came from a middle-class family and entered Arcadia Academy through a scholarship, she was a kind and friendly person to everyone.

Recalling the shared moments between both of them, Jake felt bad that he had neglected her, ignoring her. All this time, Miria had been his savior angel since he and Chloe had separated from class. Jake straightened his back, leaned it comfortably against the chair.

"Thank you, Miria," Jake replied curtly as he took Miria's notebook and put it in the desk drawer.

'Could it be that Miria like me because we come from a non-high class family?' Jake pondered, catching a faint blush on Miria's cheeks after he thanked her before Miria immediately look away.

Jake smiled inwardly, judging Jake's fate was quite lucky. No, he's not jealous. In his high school, Jake was also very popular with girls, but he was quite firm in dealing with them. The study was more important for him.

Unfortunately, he couldn't do that to Miria because they had known each other for quite a while. Inevitably he has to do it slowly, so Jake decided to do his homework starting tomorrow. As one of the smartest students in his old high school, Jake believed it would be an easy job because the science topics were the same as what he had studied on Earth.

A minute later the teacher came, and the class started.

'When recess comes, I need to copy her homework because the subject was in right after the recess.' Jake pondered.

Therefore, Jake decided to work on it in the library. It was possible that Miria would accompany him when he copied the task, same as usual. Of course, Jake would feel very awkward if that happened.

Three hours later, the bell rang out, noticing the recess hour had come.

"Where are you going?" Miria asked as Jake got up from his chair.

"I'm going to the library, I have a book to borrow and of course, doing my homework," Jake replied and then walked away.

In Arcadia Academy, there were two main libraries, one in the main high school building and the other in the junior high school main building. That was right, Arcadia Academy had two levels of education. It was quite close, even though they were separated by an outdoor sports park.

If a student wanted to attend the junior high school class, from the main gate, he would take the left pathway instead of the straight one. The pathway would lead him to a beautiful fish pond as a staircase was straight ahead.

Arriving at the library which is located on the right side of the main building, Jake approached the students who were standing behind the circulation desk. "Good morning. Can you help me find a book?" said Jake politely.

Mabella, the student's name, stopped her work, lifted his head, and returned Jake's greeting while adjusting his glasses. "Good morning, Jake Windfield. Sure, I can help you." Mabella looked serious then gave a small smile while Jake looked confused.

Whos not? Jake didn't know who that student was, he didn't even remember meeting her.

'How does she know her name? Did she have a Psychomagic related to memory power?' He guessed.
