Chereads / Descendant Of LUCIFER / Chapter 3 - The Veil.

Chapter 3 - The Veil.

'what the hell is happening to me?'

After meditating for a while, Tony suddenly found himself in a strange place, a very strange place. The floor was a kind of jet black, like a dark lake reflecting nothing but darkness. And the sky was solid white, too bright to even glance at.

"Welcome to the veil" two voices said from behind.

Tony slowly turned around.

"Uhh...Hi?" he replied, looking at the awkward duo in front of him.

Both were wearing tattered coats, and a hood that completely covered their faces, and their bony hands each held a weird looking halberd. The only difference between the two was that one was the color of the ground and another was the same color of the sky.

"I am Charon. Where do u want to go?" They both said at the same time.

"Where would I look - Wait! There are some things I need to get straight. Where am I? And how did I get here?"

Both Charons sighed. This was obviously something that happened always.

"You are no longer existing" the white Charon said.

"Unfortunately for us this is where you found yourself" black Charon said.

"And this is?"

"The Veil" they both replied.

"The only connection between the celestial realm....." white said.

"And the underworld" black Charon concluded.

"Ohh....you mean heaven and hell?"

"What? No!" White screamed.

"That was just a big lie woven by those who had been here, probably to make the world do good" Black said.

"But its still the same thing if the good guys go to celestial realm and the bad guys go to the underworld, right?"

"No!" They both said, shaking their heads, slowly.

"The celestial realm doesn't accept dead people. It only accepts those that transcend, those with power, or wealth." Black Charon said.

Tony had decided to call them Black and White, respectively.

"How do I get out of here?" Tony asked. This was all to weird for his liking.

"You can't. Because you're dead." both of them said together.

This was like a bomb shell on Tony and a migraine instantly began to form.

"Dead?! NO! No!! NOO!!" Tony started panicking.

'this can't be happening I'm not dead! No'

"I was just sitting down, meditating and I found myself here.

Both Charons looked at each other. Then back at Tony.

'Impossible!' they both thought.

"So you still have an anchor in the real world?" Black asked.

"A what?"

"A body" White clarified.

" Of course I do!"

" Its been a while since someone has been able to reach the veil while having an anchor in the Real world." White said.

"How do I get back?"

"You don't know?" Both Charons asked, their voice oozing bewilderment.

"This is my first time, okay? It wasn't even on purpose"

"Both Charons kept looking at Him. If their expressions were visible, he was sure they'd be shocked.

"I promise I want to talk some more, but I have to go back. I promise if I can I'll come back"

"Really?" they both asked in enthusiasm.

"Yes!" his impatience was growing.

"Its not that hard" Black said.

"Just visualize your body....." White began.

"Focus and feel the connection between your soul and your body and pull" Black concluded.

Tony did as he was told.

"I'll try my best to come back. There's a lot I wanna know." those were his last words before he faded in front of their eyes.

"You know he's not coming back, right?" Black said.

"Try to see the bright side of things you idiot!"

"Dick!"

Immediately Tony felt that he was inside his body, he opened his eyes and took in a lot of oxygen.

"Tony? Are you okay?" Doctor Iris asked.

"I'm a hundred percent fine. Doc! You wouldn't believe what just happened.

Immediately he stood up, he knew something wasn't right. All the scientists kept looking at him like he was some kind of disease, like a leprosy patient. But Doctor Iris and another cute female scientist looked at him like he was a rare artifact. They both had admiration in their eyes. He shoved that aside and began walking towards the door.

"I....." he began, but stopped immediately.

' my heart'

It was as if his heart was being squeezed.

He groaned softly.

"Tony?! What's wrong?" Doctor Iris Asked. Her usual joyfulness was now replaced by panic.

Tony wanted to talk, but instead, he fell to the ground with the grace of a boulder.

'what's happening to me?'

His vision was fading.

Doctor Iris, not minding anyone rushed inside, and knelt beside Tony, and placed his head on her lap, more precisely in the tiny gap in between her legs.

"Tony? What's happening? How're you feeling? Talk to me!"

Tony tried to talk, but no words came out. His complexion was becoming sickly and pale. She could clearly see the pain written all over his face.

"No! Tony! Stay with me!" tears were streaming down her beautiful face. She had come to love this boy, like a son or a brother. Hell maybe she even had a crush on him. Seeing him on the verge of death was just breaking her heart.

"Tony..." she whispered as he breathed his last.
