"What? In there?!" Iris almost screamed, her face as red as a tomato.
Four of them were in front of the male restroom. After having their breakfast, Iris had just followed them. The thought of using her ability after god knows how long was thrilling to her. But right now she was regretting her actions.
"According to Natasha, restrooms are the best place to open portals because of the abundant mirrors" Felix explained.
"Or....you want to us to go to the ladies' room?" Drake asked.
Iris just gave him a dull stare.
"Natasha doesn't mind" he added.
The said girl just nodded.
Iris sighed helplessly. "Let's go"
To Iris's surprise, Natasha entered first.
"C'mon! Ladies first!" Felix said, grinning.
Iris's left eye twitched.
"Fine..."Drake said, and both of them entered.
Iris sighed and entered. What she saw made her stomach churn even more.
A young man was in front of Natasha, ogling her and licking his lips. "Now what is a pretty girl like this doing in the men's room?" he licked his lips and rubbed his palms.
"Fuck off! Or I'll fucking kill you" Natasha coldly replied.
"Hmn? That guy has a death wish." Felix whispered.
The said guy was so focused on Natasha that he didn't notice the three onlookers behind him.
Natasha set her sights on the biggest mirror in the room, which was at the other end of the room. She began making her way there.
"What're you talking about?"Drake asked. "As long as he doesn't touch her ass he'd be fine"
Those words were definitely jinxed.
"Hey I'm talking to you, girl!" the young man said. Then he reached out, aiming to grab her arm, but missed. Instead, he grabbed her backside.
For a few moments, time froze.
Iris, Felix and Drake held their breaths.
Natasha stopped moving.
The young man seemed frozen in place as he gulped. ' what have I done?'
Like in a horror movie, Natasha slowly turned. But what they all saw was no longer Natasha. Her eyes were now red slits, and plastered on her face was a creepy grin that reached her ears. Her beauty and pale skin made her even looked more creepy. In short, she was now a creepy, messed up demon doll.
The young man gulped harder as her aura descended on him.
"I'm so sorry. It was a mis-"
PA!
Nobody saw her hand move as she backhanded the young man, and he went flying towards the mirror she wanted to use earlier. At the same exact moment, the alarm went off.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Iris asked. The blaring sirens and blinking red lights were unsettling.
Natasha frowned. This wasn't the first time she was beating somebody up. ' did they upgrade their system?' she wondered.
"Did they upgrade the system?" Drake asked.
"No....I'm not really sure what happened but..." Felix said, as he analyzed the countless holograms surrounding him. ".....the system is not quite intact and- " he paused.
Everyone paused.
They could all feel it. They all took in deep breaths and admired their hands.
" You can feel it?" Drake asked, trembling with excitement.
Everyone nodded.
Felix took in a sharp cold breath. "The array is destroyed!"
"What?"
"Why?"
While everyone was speculating and asking questions, Natasha closed her eyes and spread her senses. Before, due to the array, she could only read one mind at a time. But now that it was broken, she no longer had any restraints.
What she received mildly surprised her. Everyone was in battle. Some were afraid, while some were excited, but one thing was certain: they were all engaged in battle. "We're under attack" Natasha said calmly as she retracted her senses.
"Wha...?"
"Yes it seems we are" Felix said, his eyes never left his holograms. "I'm detecting multiple breaches in the facility." With the array down now, he was now like a god in the world of computers.
"What? No way in hell! This is MHF guys, its impossible to--"
ROAR!!
An ear splitting wall sounded from behind Drake, and the wall crumbled revealing a large bearlike creature. It was too big to be a bear. Its fur was fiery red, and its razor sharp claws could easily rip normal people to shreds. It was the size of a small hall.
"Its a freaking beast" Felix whispered.
It leaned back and roared, as if to affirm Felix's words.
Drake slowly turned his head as the beast set its sights on him.
"Holy Sh-" Drake couldn't complete his words.
The beast backhanded him, and he went crashing into a wall which immediately collapsed on him. The blow was too fast for him to dodge, but he was fast enough to cover his whole body with his impenetrable steel armor.
Iris immediately opened her dimensional storage amulet, and a stream of water seemingly flowed out of nowhere. Her storage dimension contained only one thing: Water. Water equivalent to the size of a small Lake. She separated the stream and formed two whips of water. She swung her arm and the water whip slashed across the backside of the bear, just above the tail. The beast howled in anger and pain. It finally set its sight on Iris.
'oh crap!'
She swung her arm again, and the corresponding whip slashed across the bear's face. The enraged bear roared and began to charge, on its hind legs. Iris would've found it funny under normal circumstances, bit not now. She swung both arms and the whips wrapped around the bear's hind legs. It didn't fall and crash as she expected, but instead, it fell and finally began using its four limbs to charge towards her.
Iris was a genius when it came to using the water and ice element. Bit when it came to close quarters combat, she was a complete failure. She could only watch and wait as the enraged bear charged toward her. Any of her most effective spells would take a lot of time to cast. And if she didn't finish her casting, it would only be a waste of energy. 'what do I do?'
Luckily, Felix came to her rescue. The beast was only a few feet from her when a blue laser blast hit the bear on the right rib, throwing it off course. It slid across the ground and faced Felix. Then it rose to its full height, reminding Felix who was taller.
Felix gulped. "You're a big fella aren't you?"
The bear roared in response and closed the distance between them.
But Iris finally found her opening. Water flowed out of her storage amulet and formed a ring around her.
"I don't know what you're doing, but HURRY UP!" Felix screamed as he dodged another claw.
Iris balled both of her fists and brought them together.
"ICE COFFIN!" The ring of water around her suddenly flew towards the bear,like iron fillings to a magnet. When it came close enough, it began to solidify. The temperature around the bear began to drop drastically. Soon, the beast was nothing but magnificent ice sculpture. Iris sighed in relief.
"Where the hell Is Nata-?"
He couldn't complete his question because the bear in the ice sculpture was now shining bright red, like infrared. Soon, the ice began to melt. A split second later, the ice broke, revealing a furious bear, with steam rising from its body.
"Its a freaking magical beast!" Felix exclaimed.
In the present world, there are three types of creatures: the animals, the beasts and the magical beasts. The animals are the normal ones, divided into two categories: tame and wild. The beasts are evolved versions of animals. They are faster, stronger and more intelligent. In fact, they are at least twenty times better than the normal animals, depending on the tier they belong to. Beasts are divided into three tiers: basic, intermediate and king. Magical beasts are evolved versions of beasts and are at least a hundred times better than beasts. Depending on the type,magical beasts could be more intelligent or have an affinity with one or two elements. They are further divided into five tiers: Emperor, Legendary, Supreme, Mythical and God tier. Magical beasts at the Mythical tier are very hard to find as the gap between Supreme tier and Mythical tier is very wide, making evolution impossible.
"According to my calculations, this is At Emperor tier!!" Felix announced with his heart beating like a drum.
'oh...crap' Iris thought. "I'm not good at close combat, cover me!" Iris screamed as she retreated.
"Wai-!! Of course, Felix is everyone's favorite punching bag" he sighed helplessly.
The beast roared, and the temperature in the room began to rise drastically.
"So you were holding back you son of a bitch!" he said with narrowed eyes.
The bear raised its giant paw and brought it down.
Felix jumped out of the way and raised his left arm which was now a laser canon. He aimed, then fired. The blue laser hit the bear square in the chest. But a second later, the small bruise that was created healed up like nothing happened.
' fire element and regeneration? Today's my lucky day' Felix was well known for using sarcasm instead of screaming in frustration or running away in fear.
The bear roared, releasing a circular wave of fire. Felix jumped back. But a second later, water rained down from nowhere, extinguishing the flames immediately.
Felix glanced back and saw Iris making hand signs and surrounded by water. ' oh I get it'
"All right let's end this you fat hoe!"
His right arm also morphed into a laser cannon. Then he shot two lasers out at the same time. One hit the bear's solar plexus, while the bear blocked the other one with is fire coated paw. It immediately swung its other paw, and Felix moved back. But suddenly, fire sprouted out from beneath him, like a geyser. But he was quick enough to turn his legs into thrusters and he shot upwards. Iris, in turn, directed water towards the fire geyser.
Felix suddenly had an idea.
"Iris! Freeze it!"
"What?" she screamed back. Meanwhile she had already started the spell.
"FREEZE IT!" Felix repeated.
"But it didn't work last time..." she blocked another fire geyser. Thankfully this beast wasn't that intelligent when it came to using the fire element.
"Just fucking do it!" Felix was constantly dodging, escaping Death multiple times. ' after this, I'll pray to all the gods in the universe' he thought.
"ICE COFFIN!" she made this one stronger than the first one. Again, the temperature began to drop drastically, and the bear became an ice sculpture in an instant. But this time, Felix charged both his laser arm canons and fired at the ice sculpture. The thing shattered to tiny pieces and chunks of different sizes. Only half of both legs remained frozen to the ground.
Felix landed, sighing in relief.
Iris sat down. She knew that there was nothing really special in the fight, bit it still took a toll on her.
"Where the hell is Natasha?!" Felix was furious.
Both of them turned their heads to see Natasha, levitating above some rubble,and the bodies of two giant snakes. Felix stretched out his hand and a laser scanner scanned the bodies of the giant snakes.
Felix gulped. ' E-emperor tier'
He and Iris suffered to finish just one Emperor tier beast, and Natasha had finished off two! ' I'm still WEAK' he cursed at himself.
"Uh...." Iris swallowed too. " Where's Drake?"
As if on cue, Drake came flying out of where he crashed earlier. But he was now completely covered in a beautiful medieval steel armor, plus an amazing helmet. He was like a knight in shining armor.
He skidded across the ground like a rock. He landed at their feet but got up immediately.
Before anything could be said, a creature Bursted out from where Drake came from. It was a ram type magical beast. It was ten times bigger than the largest cow, it had four horns, and a comically long goatee that reached the ground, and balls the size of bowling balls.
"Good Lord!" Iris silently exclaimed as she saw the balls.
Drake kicked the ground and flew toward the giant ram, throwing a punch. The ram, in turn, lowered its head and began to charge. A moment later, fist and skull met together, generating a shockwave that rendered the on lookers unbalanced. The result? Drake and the giant ram were equal in strength.
Felix scanned the magical beast.
Another Emperor tier.
' So Drake's strength is equal to that of an Emperor tier beast, and Natasha is probably equivalent to a Legendary tier beast.' he silently analyzed. He shook his head and smiled wryly at Iris. "We have to get stronger those two are insanely strong.
Iris just nodded silently. ' speak for yourself ' she said in her heart. She was an expert at holding back.
The ram, mildly surprised that a human was equal to its strength, gave a weird sound. It was like a bleat and a roar at the same time. Then the skin became oily black as it began to absorb Earth energy.
' hmm...a fusion type elemental beast? Its only fitting I do the same ' he thought.
Fusion type beasts could not control any element, but they could absorb the energy of their respective elements and use it to enhance their body. Now, the ram's sturdiness would be equal to that of a big boulder. Drake smirked.
"Come!"
He raised both of his hands, and every metal in the vicinity got attracted to his arms. Pipes, drains, taps, every single metal flew towards his arms, and got attached, making it look like a toddlers drawing of a giant arm.
The ram seemed to raise an eyebrow as it examined Drake's new arms. "Its not perfect, but its enough to kick your ass!"
The ram snorted as if to say: we'll see about that...
Both of them charged again. Fist and skull met once more, creating a more powerful shock wave, none of the fighters moving.
' still equal? ' Natasha was impressed.
One second, both of them were there, unmoving, and the next moment, the ram was squirming, trying to get away from Drake, but it seemed to be stuck.
After a few seconds of squirming, the ram finally collapsed, unmoving, dead.
"What just happened?" Iris asked.
"I have no idea." Felix replied.
Drake answered their question by withdrawing his hand. But it was no longer a normal hand. It had transformed into an unbelievably long sword which was lodged deeply in the ram's head.
"Woah...." Iris whispered in shock.
Drake's armor receded back to his skin, and all the excesses fell off.
' so he can elongate his armor too? ' Felix notice .
"Impressive" he said out loud.
Drake had a very unsettling a mug look on his face.
"That was awesome..." he said.
"Uhh....guys? Motion sensors are going off crazy fast!" Felix said, looking at a hologram in front of his face. The motion sensors in the rooms around them were going off incredibly fast. It was as if an army of speed ability users were approaching them.
' they must have smelt blood. If thats the case, then these ate man-eaters. ' that didn't sound good at all.
True to his suspicion, a baboon twice the size of Drake emerged from the rubble.
Drake's suit of armor immediately covered him up.
"We gotta get outta here!!" Felix screamed. He scanned the beast. "Its another Emperor tier!"
The panic was evident on his face. Only Natasha understood his fear.
"what's wrong with fighting an Emperor tier beast?" Drake asked, glaring back at the beast glaring at him.
" Facing an army of Emperor tier beast!" Iris exclaimed finally realizing what Felix was afraid of.
Suddenly, more of the same type of beast appeared behind the first, in their hundreds. Drake's armor receded back into his skin, and he seemed to shrink as his earlier confidence vanished.
"LET'S GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!!" he screamed, with his voice several octaves higher, like an opera singer.
"Natasha" Felix called out.
The said girl nodded and began to chant.
"Let's move" Felix said, pointing to a small mirror that had begun to light up. Runes began to appear around the mirror while Natasha chanted.
"NOW!" Natasha shouted. And without warning, she flew towards the mirror. To Iris's surprise, she went directly into it. Felix didn't wait for a single moment. His legs became thrusters and he too disappeared into the mirror. Without wasting any time, she too blasted towards the mirror like a water jet.
"Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit!!!" Drake cursed. According to battle power, he was the strongest in the group. But when it came to speed he was equivalent to a turtle.
"I'm screwed!!" he screamed.
' don't look back. Don't look back. Don't look back!! '
But he ignored his own advice and looked back.
"AHHHH!" He screamed as he saw a baboon's jaw inches away from his butt.
He dove head first into the mirror, and so did the baboon. But it smashed head first into the mirror as Natasha closed the portal.
