Ether, the heiress of the Viscount, was a determined and ambitious young woman. She had grown up on the vast orchards of her family's estate, and she had always been fascinated by the way the trees seemed to come to life in the spring and summer, bearing bountiful harvests of apples, pears, and other fruits. But as she grew older, she began to realize that there was a major problem with the orchards. They were only productive for a few months out of the year, and the rest of the time they lay fallow and unproductive.
Ether knew that something had to be done to change this. She had heard stories of mages and elves who possessed ancient knowledge of how to make crops grow in even the harshest of winters. And so, she made up her mind to find a way to harness this knowledge and put it to use in her own orchards.
