The quaint town of Rhoda was not adequately prepared for the severe winter that hit it, and as a result, it suffered greatly. The locals had not anticipated such a severe winter and hence had not taken the required precautions to get themselves ready for it. It became increasingly difficult for the community to maintain its existence as the snow continued to fall and the temperature continued to fall.
The thick snowfall was the first thing that the people who lived in Rhoda observed when they arrived home. The snowflakes were large and heavy as they fell from the sky, and they swiftly covered the roads and walkways. As a result, individuals had a tough time getting around because the roads were rapidly becoming impassable. As a result of the heavy snowfall, the majority of the town's inhabitants were confined to their homes and unable to leave.
