It wasn't supposed to be like this.
Valerie had no idea why she was so nervous in front of Zion. How could her heart flutter for another man? And why did she think it was so wrong for her to do so?
"Why are suddenly so stiff?" asked Zion as he poked Valerie's cheeks with his index finger. "Why are your cheeks so red?"
Valerie took a step backward as she let go of Zion's hand and put both of her palms on her cheeks. She could feel the heat coming off of them.
"Is there something wrong with me?" she asked, more to herself than to Zion.
Zion chuckled as he looked at Valerie's face, with a hint of teasing her. "Look at your cheeks, they're red. So I'm sharing with you some valuable information about my past and you're blushing?" He took a step backward and crossed his arms, "Don't you think you're being weird here?"
