Chapter 2 - We don't know

It was already midnight when she woke up. She had this strange dream of swimming inside water. Wait, why would she even be swimming in her dreams. Could it be....

She couldn't finish her thoughts because she had finally returned to planet earth. It was then it registered in her brain that she was being sprinkled water. 'That's no wonder she dreamt of swimming inside a pool.' She thought.

Who would dare do this kind of thing to her if not for her mother. It would have been understandable and utterly fun if the person doing this was little Karen but she knew little Karen wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night just to play with her! So her only best and possible explanation was her mother. Her mother would be the only adult ridiculous enough to wake someone this way.

When she was finally awake, she pulled away to to stop the water from touching her. The water was cold and she has this kind of allergy to cold things. She would get a rash or fever when she touched something cold, her mother knew this and yet, she still did this??! Now she was starting to wonder, was this woman really her mother??

"Please stop it, mother!" She said.

"Ohh, you seem to be dreaming about mother now huh?" The voice echoed and it was then, Gina realized it was her big sister.

Totally ignoring her statement, she pushed her way forward and stepped into the bathroom.

Few seconds later, she came out looking relieved. And then she started to plunge her big sis with questions.

"What are you doing here? Can't I at least have a peaceful sleep? And couldn't you wake me up like every normal human does? You know fully well about my allergies and you still used cold water on me. Please just say whatever it is you want to say, as you came in and saw, I was fast asleep, so don't waste the little time I have left to sleep and go straight to the point. If not, you can use the door." She coldly said. She used to look up to this big sis of hers but ever since the shares were given to them. Her behavior towards her made a 360° change. She never smiled with her like before and she now became cold towards her. At first, Gina thought that something was bothering her but months passed by and she still remained the same, causing Gina to also change her behavior towards her.

"Are you done? If you are, you can follow me downstairs. But if you still feel like ranting, you might as well sit here." Ella said causing Gina to crease her brows.

"What do you want?"

"You'll know when you go to the living room with me." She said, averting her gaze from her.

"You think I'll fall for your baseless tricks?"

"It's your choice, you don't have to come if you don't want to."

"Since you can't tell me why you need me to go downstairs, just leave my room right this instant. Get out." Gina said pointing towards the door.

"Fine, fine, fine. I'll go, there's no need to be rude to this big sis." She said and for a mile second, an evil grin flashed across her face. Of course, it didn't escape Gina's notice and in an instant, she knew she was up to something. But Gina was unfazed and just lay back on her bed and said the words. "When you're tired of standing there, you can leave and please close the door. Also, don't ever in your magnificent life sprinkle water on me." She said and closed her eyes.

Ella was raging inside but she still managed to keep her cool. There's no need to vent out her anger now, when there's still tomorrow. 'Sleep well lil sis because tomorrow would be the beginning of unending drama in your life.'

After standing there for a short while, she finally moved and got out of the room and as per her 'lil sis' instructions, she closed the door.

.....

"She's not in her room anymore father!" She said. Before she got downstairs where her mother and father were waiting, she had already put in action her acting skills and this was the result.

"What do you mean 'she's not in her room'?" Gina's father, Jack asked.

"Father, didn't I tell you that she's always sneaking out of the house at midnight, I wonder who she's going to meet at that hour of the night. " Ella said, feigning concern.

"Yes honey, she's not always at home during the night times. It has gotten me worried and I wonder where she's always going??" Alice added.

"Why would she do something like that?" Jack asked.

"We don't know. It's like she's planning something behind our backs, we need to do something fast, before she tarnish the image you had tried so hard to build." Alice said.

"I'll talk to her tomorrow." He said.

"It's not about talking to her father, we need to do something to stop her from ruining our image." Ella said.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Let's get her married." Alice said.

Jack's eyes were wide in shock. He didn't expect to hear that from her! Gina's still young and she can't possibly get married. She also has her rights and freedom, they can't force her to get married against her will, but thinking of it, sneaking out of the house at midnight is enough to tarnish the family's image and that is one thing he would never let happen!

He would speak with her tomorrow to clarify things out. This should stop and if it doesn't, then he has no choice but to just get her married.

He cleared his throat and broke free from his thoughts before he spoke. "I'll speak with her tomorrow." He said causing the two ladies to look downhearted. They were expecting him to go with their suggestion, but he just said he'll speak with her?!! They needed to do something about this! They must make him agree.

"Father, not only does she sneaks out of the house at midnight, she also brings men into her room. What if someone sees this, they would start with gossips and the news would spread like wild fire. Father, the only best possible solution is to get her married. That way, she won't be able to tarnish our image." She explained, trying her possible best to make her father agree. Once he agrees to this, her other plan would just be an easy cake.

"We can't let her get married against her will." He said and Ella clenched her fists. What the hell is wrong with this man?!! Can't he just agree with this already?!

She took in a deep breath, trying to recollect herself. She loosened her clenched fists and spoke.

"We're not getting her married against her will father. We'll introduce to her suitors and her job is just to pick the person she likes best." She said.

"Do you prefer letting her tarnish our image to getting her married? Think this through father, it's for the sake of your family." She added and left the living room. She would let him think about this. Her mother would handle the rest.

'Haha Gina. Sleep tight because this would be your last ever peaceful night.' She said to herself with a wide grin.
