Chapter 8 - Foodie

Thirty minutes later, they arrived the restaurant. It was a simple restaurant. Bella knew that Gina didn't like extravagant life so she decided to choose a simple restaurant.

"This place is okay right?" Bella asked.

"Mm. It's nice."

"Okay, so this is me technically taking you out on a date so I'll pay the bills." Bella declared.

"You don't have to."

"I insist."

"Okay if that's what you want then we'll pay for each other's foods." Gina said.

"Gosh! You're impossible."

"I'm impossible but I'm still your best friend."

"Duh"

"Okay, so let's get going."

They stepped down from the car and headed towards the restaurant. The door was automatically opened and they went in. As usual, every heads turned towards their direction and Bella smiled inwardly.

Whispers and chatters were heard among the people and Gina was thankful they didn't make any scene.

"Oh my goodness! They're really hot chicks."

"Look at the blonde, she's much more beautiful."

"Nope. I'd rather go for the lady with the black hair. Look at her eyes, are those lenses?"

"I don't think those are lenses. It's really her eyes!"

"These goddesses just brought back my lost appetite."

"I'd rather have gone to a more lowkey restaurant."

"But this is lowkey already. This was what I could come up with."

"Okay fine. Let's take a seat."

They took their seats and a waiter came to take their orders.

"What would you like to take miss?" The waiter asked and Gina turned to Bella.

"What's your order?" Gina asked.

"A bucket of chicken wings and french fries." Bella said and the waiter wrote it down.

"What do you want?" Bella asked Gina.

"Same as yours just that I want pizza and ice cream too." Gina pouted.

"Do you have to eat that much?"

"I'm sorry, I can't help it." She apologized.

"You heard her order." Bella said and the man nodded.

"It would take some time before it gets done so for now, take some appetizers." He said as he pointed at the snack on the table.

They nodded and they indulged in a conversation ignoring the statements that were thrown at them.

"Did you hear the food she ordered?? She's a foodie."

"Yep but her friend didn't order that much."

...

"Sooo....do you like Troye?"

"No." Was her simple reply.

"He's nice and I like him as a person and nothing more." She added.

"Whyyy?!! He's too cute not to be liked."

"Well, I don't like him and there's nothing I can do about it."

"There's something you can do! Why can't you give boys a chance?!...at least him."

"Okay I'll think about it."

"Really?!"

"Yep, so don't worry."

"Alright. How was your talk with Smith?" Gina asked and Bella blushed.

Huh? It's just a talk though! What's all the blushing for??

"It was good and he's nice too." She said.

"It would always be good with you as the lead." She mumbled.

"I heard you!"

"Yeah I know. But I'm right though, you're always acting naughty when you're with boys." She said.

"Look everyone's here! Don't say things out loud."

"I don't care."

"Oh, so you don't care? Don't make a fuss when it's time for payback."

"Whatever..."

The place was silent and some would just take a peek at them. Gina was starting to lose her patience but she knew it would take much time, so she had to wait.

'It's almost twenty minutes I arrived here, and to think that I've not eaten is something not acceptable for me.' She complained in her head.

'I'm hungry!!!' She screamed in her head.

"How's your relationship with your mom?" Bella asked and Gina's thought paused for a minute. Should she tell her?? What's with the sudden questions?? I don't want her to worry much about me when she too has her own problems.

"Err...Uhm...w-w-we are just having some lit -"

"Oh, the food is here!" Gina said, interrupting her own talk. She didn't want her friend to worry much. 'Great timing people!' She said in her head.

Bella knew she was hiding something but didn't press her further. That's just how their friendship was, when they feel you don't want to talk about something, they would either give space to the other person or wait till the person open up.

"Oh right."

"It looks yummy! Can't wait to taste it." Gina said out loud not minding the people surrounding them.

"You might want to lower your voice. People might tag you as a food goddess." Bella teased.

"I don't care. As long as I don't get interrupted while eating."

"What if you do get interrupted?"

"Then I'll punch that person till he gets hospitalized." Gina said and she chuckled.

"Hahaha. Do you have that much power?"

"I'm thinking of starting with you. Your dad is a doctor so it won't be a difficult task for him to heal you." She threatened and Bella zipped her mouth shut.

"Okay okay. I don't want to get beaten by my BFF."

Thus, they ate their food with Bella asking somethings she had wanted to know but didn't get a chance. They only knew each other four months ago. She was the first friend Gina had since they moved to this city and they had shared a lot of things together but they knew they both had secrets which they haven't told each other but they didn't bother asking. Just like before, they would wait till one person finally opens up.

"So do you still think your mom is not your real mother?" Bella asked.

"Parents can be annoying sometimes so I understand why you feel that way." She added.

"It's not that. It's just that I don't feel warmth when I'm close to her even if she acts kind sometimes but I've stopped thinking that way though. She's still my mom no matter how she acts cold towards me. It's not something I can change." Gina said and Bella smirked.

"I'm glad you finally understand. Even when my mother left me and my dad. I had tried so hard to hate her but I couldn't do it. The good times we spent together would always resurface and gladly remove the hate in my heart." Bella said.

"That's enough for now, we came here to relax and not dwell on bitter memories!" Gina reminded when they both seem to have become so emotional.

"Yeah that's right. We should return in good shape. I don't want people saying I made their goddess cry."

"And I don't also want people saying I made their brave beauty emotional." She said and they chuckled.

Gina continued with her food but she noticed Bella's plate was empty so she offered her some of hers.

"No it's alright. You can eat it, I'll just order more." Bella said.

"Strangely, I can't finish these so you'll have to eat with me. I don't want to waste the food." Gina explained but Bella knew she was lying. She just wanted to find some reason to eat with her.

Sigh...this girl. You're so sweet. I wonder why your mom is acting strange? Bella thought.

"Fine. I'll take the pizza." Bella said but Gina grabbed it and pushed forward the chicken wings.

"You can eat those. These pizzas are mine." Gina said.

"Fine, fine, fine. I'll take the wings."

They ate their food until the plate was empty. Bella was so exhausted. She had never ate this much in her entire existence. Would she still be able to walk?! How on earth does Gina manage to eat this much and still able to intake more?? This was simply not okay at all!! Is her best friend really a human?!

"Gina...?"

"Mmm."

"Are you human?" She asked and Gina innocently blinked at her and stared at her friend. What the hell is she talking about?

"I mean. Where do you store all of the foods you eat? I can't even sit straight anymore." She complained a d Gina chuckled. 'So that's what all the question's about.'

"Hmmm. I don't know too."

"Let's go..." She added.and stood up to aid her friend.

...
