Blair stood straight with head high.
"I am ready," she said, full of confidence.
"If you say so, let's see..." Lucien poured another vodka into the small glass and handed it to Blair.
"You have to drink it slowly. This drink can make you get intoxicated easily," Lucien whispered. Blair could feel the air rippling through her ear. The goosebumps gave her tingles through her neck.
Since she was already aware of how the drink tasted, she took it slower this time and let the tanginess slide meticulously through her throat. She had survived. However, it only took her a second to feel the changes in her body.
The numbing and the heaviness on her shoulders came quickly, and even her vision changed. Blair then realized that the liquid that burned inside her throat didn't only limit itself to that. She began to feel her body burning too.
