Blair was aware that the wolves had detected her scent the moment she shifted herself to her wolf form. She could also perceive that the pack wasn’t that close yet. If ever she would shift back to her human form, there was still a chance that they could not detect her anymore.
However, even though Lucien attempted to get off Blair's back, and he even wanted her to stop saving him just to save herself from being caught by Dante’s pack, she couldn’t do that.
If there were a moment that she had to sacrifice something, she would rather sacrifice that freedom than lose Lucien to the hands of death.
She wanted him alive. Losing him was comparable to losing her own happiness.
So, before Lucien could slide himself off of Blair, she took another leap of fate. It might hurt Lucien a bit and might worsen his condition but she had to move faster. Nevertheless, it was a far better choice than not taking him to Maev.
