It's a new month and a new cursed night. Each time his beast would appear it felt unbearable like he was standing in a pit of flames it wasn't something he could ever get used to. How could he? He was a disgusting monster who killed and feasted on living flesh?
His beast will be hungrier than any other night he could feel it. And it didn't help when he, his human side was feeling raged over what the king had done. Abigail was now unable to meet him out by the wall. The king had been keeping an eye on her where ever she went so that she may not step out in the garden on the castle grounds.
He could so easily kill the king right inside his bed where he slept but he can't have such ideas when he didn't want Abigail to hate him. She could even kill him for how angry she would feel toward him. And he would let her do so it would be better off if the world didn't have him in it. No one would have to fear a full moon any longer when he was the only werewolf who lived in the kingdom.
He's even heard from the maidservants who loved to gossip and share news from the castle Abigail was no longer able to help her sister Lillian with the preparation for the wedding on the king's orders.
He supported and respected the king but he felt like he was going too far with Abigail. He's already ordered for him and her to not see each other after he had saved his daughter's life from a wicked witch.
But she was now trapped inside the castle unable to step out into the garden and he felt that it was partly his fault since he was the one who had gone to the castle that day because of his curiosity and he kept going back. He should have just let her go and not tried to stop her from breaking the spell? It would have been best if she never meet him?
Everyone would be best without him. He was a man who couldn't control his beast at night anyway?
He had finally stepped foot into the open field where his home awaited him for just a short while. He had let his horse that yet needed a name run free. The burning and scratching began and it was as he predicted his beast was hungrier than ever and once again he felt afraid he thought the conversation with the king would be the last time he would feel that way but he was wrong. He was now afraid because of what he was becoming.
The thoughts of Abigail flooded his mind. How would she react if she saw him like this? Would she be frightened of him and not want to see him again even if he showed his face to her?
A pain struck his head he had fallen to the ground crying out in agony. Why couldn't it just end? He hadn't chosen to be this creature?
He held his head as if it would help the pain vanish from his body. Though it was no use there was nothing that could stop the beast.
His enlarged nails dug into his scalp and his body grew larger tearing the cloth of his clothes in half. His screams echoed around the open field until it had all become silent he stood up from off the ground and quickly made his way through the forest. Dodging every tree insight he roamed inside the village in the search of his feast.
He was angry and hungry for the taste of human flesh after so many years. Maybe if he killed one or a few of the king's people he'll use his smart head of his and know it as a warning to not hide Abigail from him! He roared loudly from being full of rage and a loud scream across from him escaped from a middle-aged woman.
She ran but she was too slow for him he lunged at her and pinned her to the ground. The woman's screams caught many's attention lanterns lit up in the windows of homes in the village. He muffled the disgusting woman's cry's with his hand digging his long sharp claws into her face.
When she became silent and no more air went through her lungs he had his feast after he dragged her into the forest to not be seen by the awoken humans.
He couldn't risk being killed when he was doing all this for the king, he needed to know who could protect and who couldn't protect the princess from all wickedness.
But he was dangerous he was a beast who could lure Abigail in, his trap and, devour her heart for his own selfishness. But the non-beast side of him cared for that girl though he denies to himself every day that he didn't love her because of what he was.
He was just as much of a fool as the humans that roamed the earth. He was a fool to think of possibilities with that woman if she ever found out what he truly looked like she would turn her back on him and never return.
When he was done with the woman he decided to leave a gift for the king at his gate. It would be an awful surprise to hear.
He ran through the forest until he made it into the field where the home awaited his return.
Kane awoke he had laid on the floor this time instead of his somewhat comfortable bed. He stood up with a groan and sat on his mattress. Though he had other things to do like find his unnamed horse his thoughts could only go back to last night. It felt too strange like he may have had a memory of what had happened?
He's never had memories in his werewolf form so why now was it happening? But to get the right answers he needed to go to the castle he really couldn't have done that could he? It wouldn't be right, he never liked the taste of human blood. He shouldn't have thought of such ideas about killing a human when his beast was starved and angry.
What would Abigail think about this if she found out? She knew what he was would she tell her father? Would she hate him or look at him in disgust knowing he had left a woman's corpse at the castle gate?
Before he could get any more ideas there was a sudden knock on his door but how would that be possible who knew about his home? Wasn't good when he was sitting on his bed naked as well. He set aside the thoughts of his aching body and went to the chest and got dressed.
He opened the door to three knights who showed no signs of gentleness upon their faces only if he knew what they were thinking?
"Can I help you with anything?" He asked.
"Come with us his majesty wants to speak with you."
"Without causing trouble with us."
"You are going to come with us nice and easy." The three men told in demanding, voices.
"Your kidding right? His, majesty told me to never return to the castle but he, now what's me to go and speak with him... about what exactly?"
"You'll find out when we get there."
What was the king up to why had he changed his mind? He couldn't know so it had to do with something else? "Alright let's go then, shall we?" He passed the men through the door, he'll just have to wait a bit longer to go and find his horse. Though he could beat the three knights with his fist his curiosity got the best of him once again and the horse hunt had to wait.
There was a carriage waiting for him in the forest he sat inside looking through the window. He was going to the castle anyway but didn't expect to go this soon? He wanted to only see if the memories from his werewolf were, true. He didn't expect the king to want to speak with him after what he strictly told him a few weeks ago?
When the carriage came to a stop the door opened and he stepped out while he came to a realization. He wasn't wearing his cloak Abigail was there in the castle and his face was exposed for her to possibly see and king Eliot hadn't seen who he was when he saved her life but he somehow knew? Did he recognize his voice from their first meeting down in the village but didn't say anything?
What was happening and what was he going to do if Abigail sees who he really is! She didn't know who really was under the hood but surely she would remember his voice?
He followed the men inside keeping his senses open just in case Abigail was near. He was led into the study where he had talked with the king before but it did seem a bit different?
"You may sit down... Kane"
He knew his name how was that possible? He not only knew where he lived but knew his name. What else did the king know about him?
"I see you're not wearing a cloak to hide your face any longer?" the king raised a brow.
"It seems so your majesty I was too wrapped up in my thoughts wondering why your majesty decided it was fine for me to return?"
"Right?" He said as if just remembering why he wanted to speak with him. "You can kill a witch but can you kill a werewolf, Kane?" The king asked.
He felt a sudden chill go down his spine it was clear that he in fact killed an innocent woman? And the king wanted him to kill the beast but he was the beast he couldn't kill his own beast unless someone would end up killing him on a full moon?
"I don't know your majesty I've never dealt with one myself but I've heard story's that they are quite fast and ten times the strength of a man."
"Do you fear death?" The king asked with a grin.
"No, your majesty I don't keep the thought that I may die in a fight that could risk my life but this woman I care about floods my mind instead."
"Ah, that woman wouldn't happen to be Abigail would it?"
"Your majesty why would you think that?" He asked in a nervous whisper. His heart suddenly leaped in his chest from hearing her name. What would the king think if he confessed that he was one hundred percent right that, he was in fact speaking of Abigail who was flooding his mind? "Your majesty I-"
"That young lady will not stop speaking of you even how hard I keep her from leaving the castle she only speaks of you the hooded man? And I want you to try and fix it because I can't allow you two to be together until you show your loyalty to me so I can be sure to trust you? The last thing I want to find out is you, being one of those creatures."
"Of course your majesty what would you like me to do for you to show my loyalty to you?" He gave a nervous smile. He could not let him find out he was a beast he would be slaughtered or worse be slowly but painfully tortured to death.
The king was a nice man most of the time but he could be very brutal to those who deceived him. And being caught about his identity was on the top of the last from surviving the world. "Wait did you say I and lady Abigail couldn't be together until your sure you can trust me? Your majesty, surely you don't mean-"
"Father! Father are you- let me through!" The voice of Abigail on the other side of the door cut off his words.
He suddenly froze in his seat Abigail was going to walk through that door and his face wasn't hidden she would see his face and immediately know who he was?
He looked up at the king in front of him who had a smile on his face. What was he planning?
The door was pushed open and Abigail stepped inside. "Finally father, please allow me to go out in the garden it's so stuffy being stuck inside of this castle?"
"Alright but take this young man with you?" The king told her. "Stand up boy and show respect to the princess."
He could hear the sound of his rapidly beating heart through his ears. He was confused and nervous to see her beautiful face after a few weeks what was she going to think of him when she sees his face?
Keeping his head low he stood up to face her then slowly tilted his gaze up at her with a smile that he knew she liked. "Greetings Lady Abigail it's an honor to officially meet you eye to eye."
