She stood there speechless the man from her dreams was standing in front of her in her father's study. She didn't know what to do so she just ran out and made her way outside for the first time in about three weeks.
She took in a deep breath of fresh air. How was it possible the man from her dreams was in the castle? It had to be a dream but he spoke to her and he smiled at her and she hadn't woken up? She pinched herself hard in the arm and yelped. She was in fact not dreaming maybe she was hallucinating?
"My lady are you alright!"
That voice belonged to the hooded man? He was here! She turned around and was met with beautiful green eyes instead. They were so close she was sure he could hear her beating heart pounding against her chest.
"Are you afraid of me?" He suddenly became sad.
"N-no No of course not, I'm just a bit confused is all?"
"My lady do you not know who I am? Has it really been that long that you've even forgotten my voice?"
Suddenly memories of the hooded man had filled her thoughts. He had told her she had seen him plenty of times but, not knowing how? She would recognize him immediately?
"Since you seem confused at the moment maybe I could give you a hint?" The man gave her a sweet smile. "The day you would find out I'd give-"
"You're going to give me your name. I've finally seen your face and I'm going to get your name isn't that right young sir?" She now understood? The hooded man was the same man that has been in her dreams since she turned sixteen?
But that also meant that what she told the hooded man about the man in her dreams she had told him what she thought about him? He was real, the man who she had fallen in love with was real?!
That also meant that the man in her dreams was a werewolf? She looked up at him in sudden surprise. "You killed an innocent woman last night?" She whispered so that no one would hear.
He looked at her in guilt taking a step back. "My lady I didn't mean to harm a human life I'm unable to control it the beast was starved and it was angry just as I was. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to tell his majesty about what I am?"
"No, I would never do that I won't let father or anyone else know about what you are." She told him.
"Thank you my, lady... since you wonder my n-"
"Abigail! Abigail your outside had father finally let, you free?" Tina asked with a bit of excitement, then noticed the presence of a man who stood beside her. "Who might this be?"
"He is the one I've told you about the man under the hood who saved my life from that witch?"
"Oh, I hadn't recognized you without your cloak, you are more handsome than I imagined?"
She looked over at him he didn't say a word only gave a polite smile. Her face flushed red his smile in her dreams always made her feel some sort of way. His smile held gentleness and made her feel comfortable and safe?
She yet didn't know his name but two of her wishes came true she got to hear what his voice sounds like he had a sexy masculine voice and he was standing right beside her in the real world. But she wondered as well since he was here would she continue to see him in her dreams?
"Sir what is your name?" Tina asked the man.
"I'm sorry my lady but I prefer not to say lady Abigail yet doesn't know my name and I'd like for her to be the first to find out."
"Ohh Abigail, I think someone secretly admires you?" Tina teased whispering against her ear. "Okay then once you tell her make sure my father knows your name then you can come to me and share it with me." Tina held her head high with a smile full of confidence.
Tina may have been fourteen but she was very smart but could be immature for her age. And she would never believe that the man beside her admired her there was nothing good about her that could be admired the only way she would believe it was if he told her.
Tina then walked away after being called by a maidservant their father wanted to speak with her about some sort.
She watched her sister walk off in the distance then she stiffened up in place when the man from her dreams leaned over her shoulder the feeling of his hot breath against her ear tickled the skin of her neck. "Young sir?" Was all that could leave her lips.
Her heartfelt, like it, was going to leap out of her chest at any moment what was she supposed to do in this kind of situation. She couldn't just walk away her mother taught her to obey men's wishes?
"It's Kane."
"What? What did you say?" She asked confused.
"My name is Kane, my lady." He repeated breathing in her sent.
"Like from the story of Cain and Abel?"
"No my lady." He let out a small laugh. "Kane as in K-A-N-E and I think we have something to talk about it may not be that important but It has to do with your past?" He told.
He knew something about her past even though they hadn't known each other for long? "Okay, what is it?" She nervously walked off and sat down on a bench in the garden he soon sat down beside her in silence.
"Do you remember the time when you told me about the dreams you had ever since you turned sixteen?" She nodded in response waiting patiently for what he had to say. "Well I may sound like a fool to you but I have visions of your dreams only after a few minutes when you awake. That is why on the day I said goodbye to you I didn't speak or move. That was until you-"
He suddenly went quiet she wanted to hear more but didn't want to push him to speak about it. But she felt a bit embarrassed he knew all of her dreams and knew how she felt.
She continued to watch him sit in silence when he looked up at her in the eyes he looked pained.
"I am a beast I can not love?"
She felt concerned and heartbroken she hadn't and wouldn't confess to him it was unnatural for a lady to confess her love first though she felt rejected but what was she going to expect there were many beautiful women in the kingdom who he could choose from?
"I understand?" She wanted to cry but held herself back she can't cry in front of him it would make him feel bad. "I should go?"
***
He watched her stand up and walk away with her head hanging low. He had upset her he didn't want that to happen? "Abigail wait please..." He had stood up and by grabbing her wrist he twirled her around. "Please don't go?" He spoke more in a whisper than he planned to. He knew he messed up by calling her Abigail instead of my lady but he didn't care he only wanted her to stay by his side.
When she left him for only a few seconds he missed her sweet scent and her voice. He felt like a fool he couldn't love but wanted to be loved he wanted Abigail's love and only hers. But why did he want her why did he have these unknown feelings and urges in his chest?
"What are you doing to me?" He told tilting her head back against his shoulder their lips just inches apart. "Why do I want to kiss you?" He could hear her racing heart and his eyes flashed with want.
He smiled when she calmed down and her focus was on his eyes. He picked her up off her feet and disappeared from anyone's sight, he laid her down on the grass behind a few shrubs. Their focus was set on each other's eyes. Though he wanted to press his lips against hers he needed to wait a bit longer till he knew she felt ready.
Her touch over his face was gentle he couldn't resist shutting his eyes and letting her trace her fingertips over his eyes nose and lips. She was like a drug that you couldn't quit.
By the time he reopened his eyes he had forgotten how close he was to her face and closed the distance between them.
"That's enough!" The king spoke behind them in a demanding voice.
He sat up straight then standing up he held out his hand to help Abigail get back on her feet. He felt annoyed the king had stopped him from kissing her. Why hadn't he heard his footsteps or smell his scent?
"Father what are you doing here?!" Abigail asked in a rush.
"A maidservant spotted him taking you away and notified me quickly about it. What do you two think you were doing behind this shrub alone?"
"Nothing!"
"Nothing? Abigail that was, not just nothing!" He turned his cold gaze toward him. "You try that again I'll make sure you have the worst punishment of your life." The king warned.
"Father!"
"I'm already walking through hell on a daily because of your people along with this disease I have to fight through this agony of pain through the night your majesty." He told with a tone that could cost his life.
"Kane, don't speak like that you'll get yourself in much more trouble than you already are?" The worry in her voice was like water burning out his burning flames. She was right he shouldn't have said those things in that way he just felt annoyed because of what he couldn't have. And he had to be sure not to put his life in danger. He finally felt like he had a purpose to live? He would live for Abigail nothing more and nothing less.
"I'm sorry your majesty I didn't mean to offend you? You see when I took lady Abigail away from others, line of sight it only felt right to share that moment in private but it seemed to only offend your majesty?"
The king's gaze softened but his words were hard. "I'd appreciate it if you would leave and never return until you show me the heart of a werewolf."
"Yes, your majesty." He had to go on a hunt for some sort of animal the king wanted his heart but he needed it to survive. There was no other beast than himself in the kingdom unless one appeared.
Before leaving he took one last look at the beauty before him. He shouldn't have done that it only made him want to stay and keep her close and tight in his arms while breathing in her sweet scent along with other things that he had in mind.
He knew if the king knew his thoughts he would lose his head. Abigail was an innocent lady she has never been touched by a man so it was only natural for the king to overreact about his daughter almost being kissed by a man he knew nothing about?
Though it still bothered him that the king had gone and interrupted his chance of tasting her lips on his own he still had plenty more chances and he won't give up until he does. He's not one to easily give up and not planning to any time soon.
He was afraid to love he always had been ever since the day he killed his parents. The day he first transformed into a beast it was unstoppable and unable to control just as it was today. But after he killed his human parents it was the first and last time his beast touched another human until yesterday evening.
That was the reason he couldn't love Abigail everyone he loved was killed by his beast. He didn't want that to happen to her as well. But his heart and mind couldn't get enough of her even how hard he tried to forget it was impossible.
The feelings he felt towards her seemed to be unbreakable?
