The knights started to move out of the building.
The knights of the capital were very cooperative to the citizens' complaints about wizards during the aftermath of the Month of Fate. After all, it was this period of time where a lot of new wizards—mostly those who were not from a higher class—started to have a big head.
A few of them also have a high tendency to go berserk with some of them turning insane.
The kingdom was particularly wary of these kind of situations. After all, some newly awakened wizards might possess a very dangerous and lethal magic.
At this moment, Chap was watching Lock as he hid behind the crates located in the alley with a smile on his face.
At first, he followed Lock because he seemed like a nasty person. Maybe he would steal once again, and he could join him was what he originally thought. But he did not.
He was quite irritated he waited for so long without the guarantee of something good happening for him.
In the end, he can only beg him because he was too hungry.
Based on common knowledge, most wizards had a lot of ego. If you could beg him like you were some sort of animal, a lot of them would think of them as very important. Thus, he tried to do that.
However, for some reason, it actually worked in the end.
"Hahaha." He mumbled laughing.
Wizards were scary existences to the public. Along with the authority and other dangerous looking individuals, wizards were one of those existences feared by many.
Thus, Lock was perfect for getting free food!
Lock grabbed the barbecues he needed and pivoted, turning around.
As he did though, the man from the other stall had his eyes bulged and his jaws dropped. He started looking around, searching for any knights.
Where did the knights with the barbecue stall owner earlier?!
It was at this moment!
Several people suddenly appeared behind Chap on the alley quickly surrounding him!
"I knew you two are going to come back again! You thieves!" the stall owner with the butcher knife grinned evily as he shouted fiercely.
Behind him were knights in iron armors and swords!
"Get them!"
The knights swiftly approached Chap who was cornered in the crates.
Chap's face instantly become scared as hell. His body frozen as he found his back retreating to the opposite wall. There was no way out!
Trying to sneak, he then stepped forward, but the knights stepped closer. There were so intimidating that it looked like they were going to decapitate him instantly as soon as he comes in their reach. H gulped as he couldn't help but step back, putting him against the wall.
"Hahaha! I knew you two are going to come back so we stayed here to watch so you would let your guard down." The barbeque stall owner was so happy.
"You thieves are ruining the Capital's reputation! But don't worry, you are no wizard, so you could get away by giving us an arm or a leg." A knight said, and unsheathed his sword.
"Ahhh!" Chap cried and screamed, gathering everyone's attention in the street to him.
At the same time, in the middle of the street, people started to back away, moving out of the way, as five knights also cornered Lock.
"Halt!" The knights raised their voice to Lock.
"Shwing!"
The sound of swords being unsheathed from their scabbards sounding consecutively echoed.
With his suffocating hair, Lock's eyes glinted expressionlessly as he stared at the knights as he halted. He saw Chap cornered as well and wondered what was happening.
He expressionlessly intoned, "Huh?"
In the side of Chap, the knight at the very front swung his sword at the air to scare the 14 year old who was like a cornered rat in the crates.
"I decided. I'm going to cut those two hands off so you could not steal again!" he said, pointing the edge of the sword to Chap's head.
"No, the legs might be better." The knight turned the edge of his sword to Chap's legs.
"We're going to do the same thing to you, older brother." The knights on Lock's side said, standing like bosses.
"Ahhh! Help!" Chap started yelling.
Seeing that, Lock tightly grabbed the barbeques in his hand, and suddenly leapt!
"Thud!"
"Shwing!"
He was much faster than everyone expected, so they were momentary startled!
The knights saw that, and instantly reacted readying themselves.
"Beware of him!" The barbeque owner then said.
"Our knights! That boy's a wizard!" the stall owner on the other side shouted.
All the knights laughed as they unsheathed their swords.
"Wizard, you say?"
"That's why you are so arrogant!"
"Hmph, I'm going to show you today that wizards ain't all that!"
The night was a great night. The streets bloomed with splendor, and people walked past the stalls like they were on tours. But right now, it was like there was a grandiose play performed in the streets of the capital!
The moon was crescent and it shone its light on the blades and armors of the knights.
But more importantly, it casted a glow at a certain beggar's face with suffocating gold hair likes it changed his expression to a different person! A dangerous person!
For a moment, Lock's golden eyes flashed, as he sized everything around in one long yet short look.
"Knights," he mumbled and smiled weakly as he started to land from the air, "Ready yourself!"
As soon as he landed to the ground, his head rose, as he put power to his legs and dashed! He went past the knights surrounding him in an instant, destroying their formation with his mere strength, and even leaving dents on their iron armors as if a hammer had hit them!
He arrived right in front of Chap and used his gold eyes to size the five knights in an instant!
With a flash of his golden eyes, he readied his fist and pulled it with great force, scaring his enemies with a simple yet seemingly powerful movement!
"Bastard!" The lead knight was angry.
He seriously swung his six meter sword aiming at Lock's neck.
But Lock grinned and sent a roundhouse kick against the blunt side of the sword, sending it clanging to the opposite wall.
"Clang!"
"What?"
The lead knight was stunned, as he instantly felt the shockwave travelled to his arms like something just punched him!
With his eyes widened from surprise, he looked at Lock like he was a ghost of the past!
The other knights looked at him.
"What's wrong, Captain?" a knight asked. The idea that the sword of the strongest knight amongst them were sent away like that with just one attack was ridiculous!
But the lead knight's face was in pain!
The other knights instantly realized. "Don't tell me?"
But before they could react, Lock had suddenly closed the distance between them with that kick!
With the barbecues on his left hand, he sent his right fist to the knight's abdomen, sending the lead knight crashing to the wall! At the same time, all of his iron armors were ultimately shattered to pieces!
Everyone was stunned at such quick developments!
The eyeballs of the barbecue stall owner almost popped out from his face, as his head followed the lead knight being thrown to the wall with only one attack with all of his armors shattered as well!
Who could have known the boy was an expert in martial arts!
Before anyone could react, Lock swiftly turned around!
"Ahhh!" the barbecue stall owner screamed and cried. Everyone instantly backed out from him!
But Lock was not going to attack them. He was going to paralyze them momentarily for them to escape but it seemed to be unnecessary.
Lock grinned and quickly carried Chap away with his right hand. Using the space they gave him because they were scared of him, they escaped to the narrow alley. On his left hand were the barbeques of the barbecue stall owner, angering the owner as he saw it.
"Thud. Thud. Thud."
Sporting his golden mane, Lock was fast, as he galloped to the alley, carrying Chap like a mere bag with one hand!
"Thud!"
When he was away, he started to accelerate even more, running to wherever he could go safely, while carrying Chap.
He was not just fast, but was also extremely strong. Thus, he could carry Chap easily.
"You're going to pay for this! Once I see you here again, I'm going to cut your hands you thieves!"
The knights were all stunned, as they looked at their lead knight sent to the opposite wall with a couple of attacks only! He was slammed and there was a crater that had formed on the wall he had crashed into.
