"Sir Gandolf!"
"Hang in there!"
At this moment, the knights had rescued the lead knight who was now wearing a broken armor. They looked at the wall that was also shattered and made a crater from the impact.
With faces that still cannot believe what just happened, the knights watched Si Gandolf weakly lifted himself up and looked at them fiercely.
"Re—request help from the headquarters immediately! This matter is not a mundane matter anymore!" Sir Gandolf said.
Just then, all of a sudden, there was a large commotion! The sound of the crowd watching them started to approach them.
Leading the protests were the business stall owners, they started to be seen and heard berating the knights.
"We are paying taxes to be safe here. I almost died from that wizard. The capital is really not the same as the old days!"
"The Human Council should have never let these monsters of chaos be this free! The king should have put enough restrictions to stop this from happening."
"This is why these guilds should have never been allowed to create their bases in the capital. The capital used to be a secured place for us. Guilds ruined it, and guild wizards on top of all of that!"
At the present, the general outlook on wizards was good. Content on magic were regularly aired on television. After all, the luxury of being a wizard possessed many benefits for the future.
However, the same could not be said for some wizards specifically those who came from a low background and had decided to join guilds.
"We miss the Holy Knights!"
"The holy knights were better!"
About 15 years ago, it was fair to say that the idea of guilds sheltering wizards and non-magic adventurers were overlooked and frowned upon.
Wizards used to be viewed as no more than creatures of chaos based on the public perception.
Anent to this, most criminals back then and up to this day were criminals! The most wanted criminals were criminals! The most powerful terrorist organizations were evil wizards!
However, at some point in time, the world government started to suggest the creation of guilds!
Guilds became shelters for wizards. In exchange for their service using their powers to complete quests from the struggling citizens, wizards became protectors of territories around the world.
The existence of guilds became the trend and they were welcomed by the system.
However, many continued to show their dissent on guilds and believed they have shown complacent attitude towards wizards of their kind! They believed that many guild wizards were originally homeless bastards and peasants. That was the same for evil wizards. They labeled them as money hungry bastards that continued to drain the people's money in order to supply their own interests!
Guild wizards rightfully earn their own money from quests and adventures. However, it was an agreement that in exchange of a guild's protection upon a certain place, the people needed to pay higher taxes in order for guilds around them to secure a high budget.
The more powerful, the higher!
It was a lot like guild wars.
Guilds ultimately became the powerful allies of the government.
Thus, the more powerful or the more guilds a kingdom has on its call, it meant more firepower!
However, a considerable amount of the population find that naturally displeasing.
Back in the past, guilds were mere background actors working behind the scenes. Instead, the Order of Holy Knights ruled kingdoms!
The Holy Knights were the highest order of knights. They were very rare to see now as they had moved to the higher world, protecting royals and higher class nobles. They also became kind of exclusive to the church and the pope.
The members of the Order of the Holy Knights were mostly wizards as well. However, most of them were high class citizens and elites. But more importantly, the Order of the Holy Knights were soldiers who had taken an oath of loyalty in the royal families of the lower world which was under the World Government.
However times have changed and the guilds has become the star of everything!
In this new age where joining guilds were the pinnacle, the Order of the Holy Knights became the number two.
Compared to them, guild wizards were vicious and free willful beings!
Thus, whenever a wizard on the street who had seemingly came from a poor and low background started to cause trouble, people couldn't help but be reminded that guild wizards were mostly from the same background!
Sir Gandolf and his subordinate knights looked at the crowd and frowned. This attitude from the people had been the same over and over again.
Just then, the crowd suddenly started to move seemingly providing path for a few people to come in from the back.
As the crowd move, three people dressed in tunic leather armors arrived.
Everyone went silent, as they looked at the three people, knowing full well who they belonged to!
The three people all had earrings pierced on their ears and had weapons on their waists and just then, as the business owners around looked at who had arrived; they saw that on their shoulders was the tattoo mark of a black jaguar baring its fangs!
These people were from the guild responsible for the South side of the Capital! The Black Jaguar!
"Gandolf? Are you okay? This is quite the spectacle." the man in the middle of the party dispassionately said, as his head was turning around to look at the aftermath of the incident.
"The wall was destroyed by the leader of the knights who came to capture one kid. But he was instead clobbered and broken to bits."
"James?" Gandolf slowly frowned as he lifted himself up ignoring the help of his subordinates.
Guilds in the Capital were not just a place where wizards gather. Guilds were like a cancelling factor to hostile wandering wizards and mad wizards. Thus, if they received a report about a criminal or a wizard on the loose it was kind of their responsibility to take care of the matter.
It was natural to assume they had received a report about this matter!
This area was the Black Jaguar's territory!
It was just at the end of their territory bordered with the other guild which was responsible for the South part of the Capital.
Thus, it was natural for the Black Jaguar to come.
"So you wizards are finally here. What are you going to do about this?" asked the business owners furiously. He knew that the people were paying taxes, so he had the right to complain.
James sighed, and smiled.
He looked at the streets with his green eyes, and rolled his eyes inside his head. He naturally knew what part of the town they were in. It was the end of their territory. If the culprits of this incident escaped to the South side of the town, it was out of their hands!
'Sigh, this is going to fall to the Black Jaguar's failure again.' He thought.
But there was going to be no harm in pretending to at least care on the outside.
"I heard it was someone young. Probably just awakened his powers last month. Can you tell me the description of the culprit first? And also his powers." James said.
Gandolf started to explain.
"It was two kids. The first kid was a regular beggar around these streets. He was still young, so it wasn't possible for him to awaken his powers. But the important thing on this one is the older one. I've never seen this one. It was highly probable he had awakened powers already."
"I told you he got me paralyzed." The barbecue stall owner shouted.
Gandolf rolled his eyes inside his head and ignored him.
"You could have just been so scared of him." He said.
James still took note of the information though.
"Anyways, this kid is a bonafide martial artist. He had the strength of a bull and the speed of a panther. He shattered my armor with just one punch as you can see."
"Huh?" James said intrigued, as he glanced to his two comrades.
"So you crossed path with someone interesting." The other guild wizard said.
"I know. Seems like it. It's better to report this to the guild master."
Gandolf nodded.
At this time, James asked one more thing.
"Did you see his face though?"
"Not a glimpse. His hair was long and it covered his face. The only thing I noticed was that he is tall, around 6 feet, and had gold hair."
"I see." James said. After pondering for a while, he faced the barbecue stall owner and the other business owners.
"We're sorry for this matter!" he apologized loudly. "The Order of the Knights is going to take care of all the collateral damages!"
