Chapter 43 - Tired

Putri was silent in her car for nearly fifteen minutes, looking at Andi's office. She was about to wait for the man to come first. Andi didn't reply to her message, so she decided to come to Andi's office. The anticipated one arrived. The man's car just came and parked right beside Putri's car. Without lingering, the woman walked up to Andi, who had just gotten out of his car to the office.

"Hai!" exclaimed Putri, patting Andi on the shoulder.

"Putri?! What are you doing here?" asked Andi with bulging eyes.

"I told you yesterday that I'll come here," said Putri.

"I don't even reply to your message yet!"

The woman just smiled. For some reason, she has always behaved like this in the face of the man she loves. The title of a doctor is not his own if you look at it like this. Andi kept walking regardless of Putri, who kept trailing her.

"You don't work? Why are you still here? We've already met. If there are many patients in your hospital, how about it?" asked Andi irritably.

"Thanks, Ndi."

Princess's unclear answer made Andi even more annoyed and astonished. Finally, he stopped his steps and turned the body at the woman.

"Thanks?! What do you mean? Listen, I have to work. This is my room," Andi grumbled, pointing his forefinger at the room on the right.

"I want to say thank you for being considerate of me. Ask me about my work, and I'm talking about patients. That means something to me. No one has ever been asked me about that." Putri's words seemed to mean deep enough to make Andi silent and unable to comment on anything. Even so, he was still upset at the young woman who was a doctor.

"I didn't pay attention to you. I'm talking about it because I also want to work and don't want to be disturbed by anyone including you," explained Andi.

"yes, I know. How come you can't possibly be that careful with me. But that was indeed my hope. If so, I'll work first, huh? Thanks for the time, bye." she hasn't had time to answer. Putri has already passed and left Andi with a smile on her face.

"What is wrong with her?" Andi mumbling.

Andi entered his room to take a few important files. Next, he went directly to the location of his family's latest business. His family opened a typical Sundanese restaurant in the city of Bandung. At present, the building is already in the finishing process stage.

Arriving at the hospital, she felt something strange about Jodi. As Andi passed her in the hallway, the man did not greet her as usual. Either because he was unaware of Putri's arrival or there was something else that made him so.

A message came to Putri's mobile phone that broke her reverie while remembering Jodi's strange attitude.

'Put, you work, right? Mama's hospital now.'

She hasn't seen her mom for a long time. So she doesn't know what she had to tell her mom about the disgusting incident with her father that day.

"Put, I want to talk with you," said Putris's mom.

"What's the matter, Ma? Anyway, it's the first time you have come here, making me curious."

"My head is dizzy again. Your stepfather has been sick for almost two weeks. So household needs are increasing. I need money, Put," said the mom.

Putri snorted softly when she heard the purpose of her coming. Indeed, before, the mother was used to asking her for money. However, it was only this time that she came directly to see her. So, Putri didn't think in that direction at all. Instead, she thought that there was something else her mother would say. For example, I want to live together with Putri or something. It was her deep desire since her parents divorced.

"How much does it take?" Putri asked.

"Not much, only twenty million, Put," said the mother.

Both of Putri's eyes widened and deflected their eyes to the face of the woman who had just asked for the money.

"Twenty million?! What kind of money do you want to use for, Ma?! Where did Putri get that much money?!!!" concluded Putri.

"You're already established. Moreover, the profession of a doctor has a big salary, right? I need that money for my daily life, Put. You don't know if mom sometimes struggles."

Putri lifted her body on a chair and walked back and forth in front of her mom with almost unbearable emotions.

"Twenty million is not a little bit, Mom?! Besides, do you know what my daily life is? You're not even asking!! Isn't it enough monthly money that I always give to you?!" asked Putri.

"Your life is already guaranteed with your father! The monthly money you give is also only enough for up to half a month!"

"Guaranteed? You don't know anything about my life! The person you call 'father' is a monster! Every day I see him doing disgusting things with different foreign women, you don't know, right?!"

Embarrassed, Putri's mom fell silent. The nature of her ex-husband is not strange to hear because that is what caused her and her husband to divorce when Putri was five years old. However, she did not expect that his bad habits continue today.

Putri is also not wrong when telling her mother about the monthly money. Every month she sends money to her mother, around five or six million rupiahs regularly, as a form of love mother. It was done since Putri officially assumed the status of a doctor.

"I'm sorry, Put. Mama doesn't know who else she wants to ask for help," said the mother softly.

Princess sighed heavily. Behind her annoyance, she still holds pity for her mom, whom she cares so much. "Alright, I'll transfer. But it can't be now, maybe the day after tomorrow. I should go to the bank first."

"Thankfully, Put. Thanks a lot. You're a daughter who's devoted to parents." The smile expands in Putri's mom's mouth.

"Hmm," Putri responded.

"There's one more thing I want to ask, Put."

Putri turned her gaze to her mom as if hinting at asking what else her mama would ask.

"The money just now doesn't include mom's monthly ration next month, right, Put?"

Knock

"Come in," Putri moaned.

Jodi walked into Putri's room with a warm, sweet tea. Again he came without being told to. Upon entering Putri's room, she was surprised that the young doctor was already flooded with tears by leaning her head sideways on her workbench.

"Putri?! What happened?" he said in shock.

"Nothing, Joe. This is for me?" Putri asked, pointing to the drink Jodi had brought.

"Y-yes, Ma'am." The hospital janitor handed the teacup he brought to Putri.

Without waiting, she immediately drank it slowly.

"Why the hell you always come in time? When I was cut off yesterday, now it's when I feel squeezed out by my mother," said Putri.

"I don't know why I always wanted to bring drinks to you."

"I'm tired. It feels like just wanting to die."

"Don't be so, ma'am."

Putri told Jodi all her grievances. This man was surprised when the incident happened at that time. Putri did not think about the fate of her car that was stolen at all. Putri said, "Maybe they need that car more than me. Leave it alone. God gave me more fortune to be able to buy one or two more cars, but not with them." A sentence that made Jodi fall in love with the young doctor. He had tried to forget the number of times he couldn't. How could he not? He and the Princess would always meet in the same environment, making it even more difficult for him to forget Putri.

"I want to tell you something if I don't work here tomorrow anymore."

"What do you mean?" asked the Princess, frowning her forehead.

"I received work elsewhere, Put. The salary difference is not too big. But, the location is closer to home. So it's more cost-effective,"

"Jod, you're kidding me, right? I don't have any friends complaining about it anymore here. If you don't exist, how am I?"
