"Honestly, I'm missing out on if you don't work here anymore. Why the hell did you have to change jobs? Suddenly, again, "Putri said, expressing her sadness.
The longer Jodi continued her chat with Putri, the more his heart thumped. Moreover, sadness was undeniable in the eyes of the beautiful Doctor as he recounted his resignation from the hospital. Of course, not only because his new place is closer to his home, but he also doesn't want to get too late in his love for Putri. He feared that the more he met, the more his passion became, and his sincerity was gone.
Lunchtime has been completed. Jodi had to get back to work soon in her last days. He also said goodbye to Putri because usually, when they came home, they rarely met.
Jodi smiled and thrust her hand, "Tthank you for everything. See you next time."
"I should have said thanks, Jod. You're the only friend I have and you're the best friend."
The position of the hand between the two left emotions. The friendship between the Doctor and the cleaning service is extraordinary.
Today is a day that is enough to make Putri sad. The sudden arrival of her mom and Jodi's departure seemed to add a hefty burden to her head.
Putri returned to her room with a lean face. But it didn't stop there. Just opening the door, Mr. Hartono, aka his father, was already in his room and sat on the sofa.
'Gosh, what else is this?!' she squealed inwardly.
Seeing that his daughter had just arrived, Hartono stood up and spoke stammeringly while occasionally holding his brown suit.
"P-Put …."
"Why come here?!" concluded Putri turning her eyes away.
"I wants to apologize, Put," he said softly.
"Tsk! Apologize for what? I don't need your apology!"
"I was wrong. I want to fix everything." Hartono tried to grab his daughter's hand.
"Don't touch me! You want to fix this? Better dream! Leave me alone. I'm an adult and can afford to stay alone. During this time, I only value you as my father."
"But, how about your marriage with Andi? You must need me as your father."
"I don't care. Tell Andi to propose to me as soon as possible. I need someone who can protect me, and I love him too. The rest, let me take care of it. I beg with all due respect that you must leave this room," Putri.
"If that's what you want, I will do whatever it takes to get rid of my faults. Please, forgive me."
Not wanting the atmosphere to worsen, Hartono left according to Putri's request. He couldn't and didn't want to defend himself anymore because he was aware of his mistakes. He immediately called Mr. Soni, Daffa's father, to prepare the proposal for his two children.
"Dad!! What the hell, anyway? Please don't be like this! You knows that Andi doesn't love Putri?!"
"Andi! Please don't be such a kid! Papa has promised Mr. Hartono and you know that!"
"This is my life, not yours! You the only one who threat me like a kid!" protested Andi.
Debate is no longer inevitable, even over the phone. Andi was emotional to hear the news that her father would come to Indonesia next week to propose to Putri.
"Andi, kid...." there was a soft voice of a woman he recognized very well.
"Mom."
"Listen to your Dad. I also really wants to see you get married before I leave this world," said Andi's mom, who occasionally coughed.
"Mom, please. Who side are you on?"
"Therefore, follow your Dad's orders, son?! Please, do it for me. I'm sure, the woman your Dad chose must be a good woman."
What's so good about it? It was precisely the man's disgust with Putri's habit, which was significantly inversely proportional to Siska.
Sad, upset, and disappointed. Andi will be very weak when he deals with the parents he loves. But, he also couldn't help but think about what his father had done. His father seemed to use his mother's pain as a weapon so that Andi would follow his orders.
"Aaargh!" he shouted irritably.
Andi rubbed his face so violently that it felt like he could no longer think clearly. Only four days were left until next week, and his parents would come. He doesn't know what he should do. He didn't want to disappoint Siska at all.
Feeling stuck, none other than he contacted Maria. Only she was the only person who knew about her arranged marriage at the moment. So the two decided to meet at a café in the city center.
Maria came over and had a bad feeling when she saw Andi's chaotic face sitting waiting for her at the number three table.
"Hi, Ndi. How are you?" greeted Maria.
"Mar, help me. My parents will come next week to propose marriage to Putri. What should I do?!" complained Andi.
"Huh, how come it's that fast? You've talked to your Dad and explain everything? I think he couldn't do anything if you agains him about this marriage. Did he?" asked Maria.
Sure enough, Siska's best friend was. She finally heard the news of not wearing. However, she knew this arranged marriage was a time bomb for Siska and Andi.
"It's just, i can't see my mom's sadness. My mom was sick again, and she jumped on the bandwagon to tell me to do this. In my entire life, I've never opposed my mother. Especially now that her condition is sick," said Andi, uneasy.
"What's wrong with your mom?" asked Maria again.
"I didn't dare to refuse Mama's orders. Moreover, she always supported me in any situation. So, I don't think I have any reason to make her let down," Andi explained.
"Be patient, and we must calm down to think about it. Then, just like this, take your mother to chat one-on-one about this when your parents come home. But, try to talk to her when she is in a good mood and her health improves. Maybe it will help. Hopefully, she can understand," Maria said, giving a solution.
Still, by covering his face because his head seemed to be about to break, Andi planned to do what Maria suggested.
"If your mom's afraid, I'll help talk to Siska. I know it's hard for her, and I can't bear to see her sad. But, I also understand that this is not your will. I understand that it's about parents, let alone a mother. And I'm sure Siska must have understood too. She will get her best mate later," Maria explained.
"Please, Mar. I won't to fight for her. I want Siska the last one for me. Siska was the lantern of my life when I was down." said Andi.
"Romantic, anyway. But cringe, hahaha. Yes, it's proofin, right! I'm not pushy, but I hope you prove that Siska does mean something to you and she deserves to be fought for." concluded Maria.
Andi's hunch was that his mother was forced to do this because she could not resist her father's hardship. Usually, if his father has started to order something that Andi doesn't like, his mother will persuade and defend Andi. But not this time. Andi also noticed it because of his mother's health condition.
Meanwhile, Siska, enjoying a cup of tea in the back garden of her house, is waiting for the Doctor who will check her in. Previously, the nurse told her that the Doctor who used to examine her was replaced with another doctor.
"Sis, the Doctor has come. She was waiting in the living room," said Mrs. Arni walking up to Siska.
"Oh, ok, Ma." Siska retorted.
Siska then went to the living room with a cup of tea to be served to the Doctor. Siska's health has begun to improve recently. It's just that she still needs further examinations to see the development of her health because Siska has a body prone to getting sick.
"Hi, Doc. Greetings, I am Siska."
Putri was shocked by what she saw. She knows that this girl is Andi's girlfriend. She remembers once she met when she was in the hospital. But tried to be as calm as possible and pretended not to know.
'So this is her home?' she said to herself.
"Hi, Siska. I'm Putri. Your schedule is checked, right, three more times, huh? In the future, I will be the one who will control you. Doctor Adam, who used to check you, is unable to do so," explained Putri trying to be professional.
"Doc, just call me Siska," Siska interrupted.
"Ok, Siska. Check the blood pressure first, huh?"
"Ok, Doc."
While Putri was performing her duties, Siska secretly noticed the face of the Doctor who examined her. She frowned like she was guessing something.
"Doc, it feels like the Doctor's face is familiar. Have we met before?"
