"If you're just moving, where have you been living?" asked Andi starting a conversation.
"I live in my real house with my father," Putri replied.
"Real house?" asked Andi again.
"yes, my childhood home."
Andi only had a long O at the sound of Putri's answer. In his eyes, it was like no interest in Putri's life.
"So, you're here just want to ask that?"
"Can I drink first?" asked Andi again as he picked up the cup of tea that Putri had served.
It's different. He didn't relax as usual. It made Putri amazed. What exactly does he want to do here?
Andi swallowed saliva and snorted with heavy breathing.
"I may ask for help, Put?"
"Ok, what is it?" Putri asked again.
"I can't marry you. I love Siska, my girlfriend. I tried to talk to Mr. Hartono and my parents, but they refused. Only you can help me, Put," and explained.
Putri sighed and stood walking towards the window of her apartment, which showed a beautiful view of the city of Bandung.
"I can't either, Ndi. I love you, and I'm sure slowly you can love me." Putri folded her hands together without looking at Andi.
"You can't do that, Put. But, please, we don't know each other. I already have a partner. Don't you feel sorry for her?" said Andi.
"Pity? So, aren't you sorry for me?! It's been enough for my life to suffer because of my parents! I want to be happy too!" concluded Putri.
"By forcing people who don't love you at all and live together and then you will be happy? Tsk!" asked Andi.
"I can make you love me, Ndi! Believe! I am the perfect woman for you! I will be a good wife, even better than your boyfriend!" Putri said tremblingly. She almost cried and tried her best to hold it back.
Everything she had prepared for Andi's presence did not want her to be damaged by just crying.
"Never do you dare to compare yourself to Siska? You don't know anything about her!" exclaimed Andi.
"Whatever! Either way, I'm not going to cancel this wedding. Instead, I will fight for my happiness," Putri said in a low tone and tried to calm down.
Andi stood up and turned towards the exit of Putri's apartment without speaking.
"Where are you going?!"
"Since childhood, I have always thought that being a doctor is the noblest job in the world. However, I was wrong. As it turns out, not all doctors are like that. So, I'm going. Thanks for everything."
Andi left Putri's residence by closing the door a little tricky. Seeing the incident, Putri burst into tears and slumped to her knees.
"Why is it always me, God?!!! Am I not entitled to be happy?!" she cried with tears.
Andi went home empty-handed. He didn't know what to do anymore.
The heavy rain fell as if to signal that God had made everything like this.
A few days passed, and Putri and Andi lived as usual. At this time, Siska was on her way to Putri's apartment because her doctor invited Siska to her apartment for a small celebration.
"Where are you going , anyway?" asked Maria.
"To my doctor's apartment, Mar. She is a very cool person, slang and also friendly. If I checked with her again, we're having fun chatting. Anyway, it's exciting for the person. Incidentally, she just moved in and invited us to watch a movie together in her apartment," Siska explained.
"Sounds cool. If you match her, she's likely to match me too," Maria retorted.
When she arrived, Putri opened the door and was not surprised to see Maria. But, unlike Maria, she had sculpted it when she saw the face of Putri, who opened the door.
"Mar, this is the doctor I told you about earlier. Doctor Putri. Put, this is Maria, my best friend," she introduced the two without knowing they had met.
"Hey, could you not call me a doctor? Just call it, Putri."
"N-nice to meet you. I'm Maria."
"Please, come in!" said Putri inviting the two to enter.
Maria spread her gaze throughout the room. Putri checked Siska's health first to make sure her health had indeed improved. Maria was quite amazed by how Putri worked as a doctor. According to her, Putri she sees today is like a different person from Putri she met that time when she was on the phone. She looks very, very professional.
After making sure everything is good. The three continued the activity by watching a movie together.
"Wait, I want to pee. I went to the toilet first, huh? Please, pause," Siska said, who seemed unable to stand the urge to urinate anymore.
Siska went for a while to the toilet, leaving Maria and Putri both. The daughter looked relaxed and did not care about what happened.
"What else are you planning?" asked Maria to Putri in a harsh tone.
"What do you mean?" Putri asked back.
"All this. You know, right, that Siska is Andi's boyfriend and I'm her best friend. You want to tell Siska everything, huh?!" said Maria.
"I know that. But I don't know if the patient is Siska. I don't have any plans. I invited her here because she was already my friend. I was comfortable being friends with her," Putri explained.
"She's a good girl, and you're going to hurt her later, right?" asked Maria again.
"Whatever you say, I did all this because I considered Siska my friend. There is no other meaning," explained Putri again.
Suddenly Siska came, and Maria was forced to stop her words.
"Come on, let's continue watching it again."
For almost two hours, the three watched the movie Fantastic Beasts. All the time, Maria didn't pay much attention to movies. What she did was pay attention to Putri's attitude. In her opinion, what Putri said just now seemed genuine. So in making friends, she does look sincere and honest. So far, there is nothing suspicious about her.
'This girl may be like other humans, or it may be like me too. Yesterday, maybe she was in her dark mode. And right now, she's showing another side of her real self,' Maria said silently as she watched Putri.
"Put, I was wondering. Beautiful doctor, young, smart, rich, how come you are still single? I can't believe it, there must be a lot of people chasing you, right?" asked Siska, who is now familiar with Putri.
"yes, a lot. A lot of people are chasing my treasures, haha. I've been matched by my parents, Sis. But, I happen to like him too. So, I'm happy to be matched," said Putri.
"Wow, it's really rare to be able to like the person who is matched. Which guy is that guy, Put?" asked Siska curiously.
Siska's question made Maria palpitate. Then, with her head, she faced Putri and glared at her as she shook her head lightly as if to signal not to tell about Andi.
The time came to seven o'clock in the evening. So, Maria and Siska decide to go home so that it won't be too late when they get home because their house with Putri's apartment is quite far away.
"How's you going, Sisi?" asked Maria on the way.
"Ok, Mar. Andi said his parents would come next week. He had said, if he's going to introduce me to them, it's cool, isn't it?" said Siska.
"O-oh, thank goodness then," Maria responded. Her remark sounded motivating, but the expression on her face couldn't lie. On the contrary, she seemed to be gloomy.
"Why the hell are you, Mar?" asked Siska in surprise.
"Why what?" asked Maria back.
"From our time at Putri's house, you are not too excited about our activities. And I also noticed you don't focus on movies. So what's the matter?"
Shocked to be asked that way, Maria was anxious. She was afraid that Siska was suspicious of her attitude. She thought her best friend didn't pay much attention to her attitude while in the apartment earlier. But, instead of being afraid, she was just worried about Siska's condition if she knew the truth one day. She is still waiting for Andi's news about what she will do to solve this problem.
"Nothing, Siska. I like your doctor. She was a great woman, beautiful and educated."
Maria felt like Siska was interrogating her. But, all of Siska's questions are casual. It is wishful thinking. How about Siska knew all this? It was sure that Siska would be disappointed in her.
'Damn! Why should Andi involve me in this?! I've gone awry this way!' said Maria silently.
"Mar, you're staying at my house, huh?"
"Today you can't, Sis. I have something to do first," Maria refused.
Siska felt strange about her best friend's attitude today. She won't know what, but she thought it was because of her unusual attitude.
"Oh, ok. Uh, I'll want to talk to Andi and Putri later. Just so he knows, I have a new friend who makes me comfortable like you, Mar."
