Zero's leg connected with the goblin and sent him back into the room were he slammed against the window. To Zero's relief, the window heavily cracked but did not shatter. The Goblin dropped from glass to slump below it. As Zero was looking for the souls to appear, he noticed it twitch for a moment. Without a seconds thought, Zero once more slammed his foot into its face before it too was a simple heap of flesh.
Zero once more waited a minute, only to find that a soul didn't float out. 'Seems like the girl was correct, Goblins don't give a soul every time.' Zero walked back out to the open area and grabbed the soul from the one he kicked, which seemed to have died from being stepped on. He then made his way over to the 4 souls floating in the air next to the three other Goblins.
'That makes 14 souls... Window, use the least amount of souls to stabilize my condition.'
-Notice-
<8> souls will be used to stabilize the Host's condition. Please note that the Hosts condition has dropped to an unstable condition.
(Yes) (No)
Zero didn't get the unstable condition message before, which almost confused him as much as why the cost is so large. 'Window, How much to completely heal me and why so much to stabilize the unstable condition.'
-Notice-
<17> souls to completely heal the Host's body.
-Notice-
The Host has been infected from the Goblins saliva and which has caused the unstable condition.
-Notice-
The Host has only been stabilizing their condition. due to this and multiple wounds in rapid succession, the Host has lost more then a quarter of there blood.
Zero sighed before willing the window to use all of his remaining 14 souls to heal himself. 'Window, use as many souls as needed to stabilize my condition and to replenish my blood.
-Notice-
<8> Souls will be used to restore blood to the Host.
-Notice-
<6> Souls will be used to stabilize condition.
Zero confirmed both of them and felt his wounds healing, only this time there was no cooling effect. 'Gonna have to take a chance on the humans not killing a soulless person.' Zero thought about that plan, before scoffing and deciding against it. 'They said there abilities used souls, which would explain the guns. However they also said they were coming to take care of the Ogre, meaning at least some of them should die.'
Zero started formulating a plan as he moved to the window that overlooked the front of the building. To Zero's immediate surprise, He instantly noticed a reflection two buildings away. 'That reminds me of the sniper glints in games...' As Zero thought about it, he instantly ducked bellow the window and started crawling to a different part of the buildings floor.
'I miscalculated! I thought they would fight like I was and use there abilities, but why do that when you have guns. Not to mention that one said he had a map that could see monsters, meaning he probably saw when I killed those five Goblins!' Zero continued to crawl away until he heard the crack of a gun being fired before a loud roar came. 'It looks like they have engaged the Ogre.'
Zero peeked over the window for a moment before ducking his head. In that small window, he saw the Ogre had walked out into the area Infront of his building and was swiping at the air as though something was there. Zero slowly crawled his way towards the stairs, when he saw a posted map of the building next to the door. Zero lade on his back, allowing him to somewhat read the map if just barely.
'Reception, Waiting room, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Guard Post...?! They have a floor dedicated to the guard post... Guard Post also means weapons.' Zero read the map, finding the fifth floor was the Guard Post. He pushed open the door to the stairs with his foot before crawling through. Once the door had closed behind him, he quickly stood and started the ascension to the 5th floor. When he finally made it the fifth floor door, he found it multiple little indents protruding in the metal, not to mention the window was shattered.
'I hope they didn't use all the ammo...' Zero knocked on the door before jumping out of the way of the door. "Is anyone in there! Please, I don't want to die!" There was silence, which he took as both good and bad. Just as he was about to speak again, he heard a mans voice from within the door. "State your business or we will open fire!" Zero was a bit glad someone was in there and not Goblins.
"Please! There were these green monsters that attacked everyone on my floor. They killed my dad, he was only trying to protect me!" Zero had a voice crack as he said dad, something he was positive would help his plea. There was movement from the other side of the door, before someone spoke, this time it was a older mans voice. "Slowly push the door open and stick your hands through first."
Zero did as they told him to, making sure not to make any rapid movements. Zero heard multiple gun shots come from the other side of he door, however he knew simply by how muffled it was that it was the team fighting the Ogre. Zero had his hands sticking through the door for 30 seconds before he heard footsteps approaching him. Just when he thought they were going to tell him he could come through, he felt two metal rings clasp around his wrists.
'Their putting me in handcuffs. That's smart, but not effective if people have an ability.' Zero figured they didn't know about abilities yet, which would explain why they still allowed him through. 'Window, did everyone become a Host? And can everyone see the windows?'
-Notice-
A quarter of the population of planet <4391.43> has become a Host. Once a non Host acquires five souls, they will be classified as a Host and will receive access to the Window.
