Chapter 18 - 'Seek It Out'

The bull slapped its left hoof after Zero spoke, confusing Zero. "Can you understand me?" The bull once more slapped its left hoof on the ground as it nodded its head and huffed. "Have you been killing everything to acquire there souls?" The bull's image rippled, and Zero instantly jumped to the side. "I take that as a yes." Zero was about to grab the gun at his thigh when he remembered he was currently not trying to attract any attention.

'Looks like I'm using anther finger.' Zero looked at the bull who had charge completely through what looked like a bar. "Do you want to work together?" The bull huffed before appearing once more, its image blurring for a moment. Zero jumped backwards once more, only this time the bull didn't appear right away. as soon as Zero's feet were off the ground, the bull appeared right Infront of were he was about to land.

Zero dropped his left middle finger and willed a whip to materialize before swiping out at the bull. The Whip appeared and slammed into the bulls side. Zero slid to a stop and watched as a green layer rippled around the bull's figure were it was hit before fading. The whip had effectively shoved the bull, but only around five feet to the right. 'Window, how does this Host have two abilities?! And also, how is it so smart?!'

Zero and the bull each started to circle each other as they had both just witnessed a variable they hadn't expected from the other.

-Notice-

All specially picked Host's intelligence have been forcefully risen to match that of the planets smartest species, to allow them an equal chance in survival. Those that collect more then <400> souls will have there intelligence risen to half of the smartest planets species.

-Notice-

Abilities are given to a Host at random. Due to this, curtain lucky Hosts will be given more then one ability.

Zero felt that that was rather unfair, however he didn't have the luxury to be so lost in thought as the bull took that time to charge at him. This time, the bull didn't ripple, but instead it simply charged. Zero side stepped rather easily, before he realized the bull rippled as it passed him. Zero lifted his right hands pointer finger and waited for it to appear Infront of him.

Zero cried out as he was hit from the back, causing him to slide seven feet forward, were he slammed through the bottom portion of the glass from earlier. Zero stood from the ground, his face contorted in anger. "Alright heifer come here!" The bull seemed to understand what Zero called him, because it let out a loud snort before charging him.

Zero raised his hand before the bull could even take a step. 'Death Beam.' The beam shot out of his right pointer finger, the beam seeming different from before. Zero was thinking three words over and over. 'Seek it out.' The beam was small, only two inches from Zero's estimation. However that wasn't what was impressive about the beam. What was impressive about the beam was that it was moving faster then even the original Death Beam did, and every time the bull would make even the slightest movement, the beam would adjust itself mid flight.

The beam slammed into the chest of the bull, completely stopping its forward charge. Zero watched as in a matter of two seconds, the bull had been pushed twenty feet and was now in the street. The green layer surrounding the bull went from a liquidly look to that of solid see through green, reminding Zero of glass. Zero couldn't help the vicious smile that formed on his face as a spider web of cracks formed were the beam was hitting.

The bull huffed in rage before its figure blurred. Zero instantly willed the beam to disappear before he half lifted his middle finger so it was pointing to his left. Zero took a breath in before willing the seeking beam to fire from his middle finger. 'Seek it out.' Zero's smile became even bigger as the beam took a 90 degree turn and went flying behind Zero's back before he heard a loud pained roar.

Zero turned around, finding the beam had shattered the barrier protecting the bull and had continuously left and reentered the bulls body. Zero noticed that the beam had pushed the bull back against the concrete wall and had gone through it multiple times before going through the concrete before coming back and repeating the process.

'The beam sowed it to the concrete wall.' Zero watched the life fade from the bulls eyes, and he could honestly say he felt more like laughing then remorseful. Zero willed the beam to disappear once more, and he watched as the beam acted like a yo-yo, its whole traveled pattern reversed in a matter of seconds. Zero watched the souls burst out of the bull before they condensed to create a Shade. Zero absent mindedly reached out and touched the Shade with his left semi limp hand as he staired at his right hand in thought.

'The two fingers that fired that beam aren't even that hot. If anything, I would say they are around a third of the way broken...' Zero couldn't help but think this ability was the most overpowered one out of his current ones besides his ultimate. The thought of his ultimate reminded him to check how many souls he had. He willed the number to appear, before his mouth dropped open in shock.

Floating in the corner of his vision were 4 floating 3D numbers. 1,190
