Chapter 12 - Kick

Zero looked back at the girl who had fallen when he destroyed the needles blocking his way out. 'This should be the last time I see you. Thanks again for the souls.' Zero moved towards the rooms door, picking items up as he did. Zero waited on the side of the doorway until he heard faint foot steps that were coming closer. Zero reached down and picked up two items from the pile at his feet before tossing one out the door and waiting.

The foot steps paused before they started becoming faster. Once Zero could hear them as if they right around the corner, he threw the second item into the room as well. The footsteps abruptly stopped just outside the room, before Zero heard it charging towards the door. Zero turned so he was in a stance to deliver a side kick to anything that stepped through the door.

Timing it to the sound of the steps, Zero struck out. Zero's leg whipped around while aiming at waist level. Zero felt relieved as the Goblins green figure appeared through the door before his kick connected with the upper side of its head. 'Still aimed to low, good to know. I'm glad I took that martial arts class, even if it was for a week.'

The Goblin was sent back through the door. Zero quickly turned and stepped out and into the hallway before racing towards the dazed Goblin before finishing it off with multiple kicks to the face before taking the single soul that left its body. Zero then made his way down to the second floor, were he quietly moved into the floor.

Zero wasn't taking any chances as he had never been to this floor, so he had his left pinky raised while the tipped piece of wood in the other. Zero walked down the hallway, peaking into each room only briefly before moving on. Once he found a large open area, he started getting ready. Zero pulled his back back around, grabbing the random items he had grabbed and put in there. Zero then cried out loud enough for it to echo through the hall. "NO, GOD, HELP PLEASE!"

Zero dropped a couple of the items on the floor, making sure to slam them down to create enough noise before running and hiding in the room directly across from the larger area. Zero was waiting for less then a minute before five Goblins came running into the room, all of them holding there own version of a weapon. "Gleguk?!" "Gleguk!" Zero watched as they started to look around the area. Zero was planning on simply ambushing the Goblin that appeared, however he was thinking he might have to use a finger to take care of the situation.

'Window, do I have an ability that is an area of affect?'

-Notice-

Currently showing Host has not received an ability. Host is able to acquire an ability through the shop.

Zero was confused as he most definitely had an ability. 'Didn't a window even say I inherited an ability?' Although he was confused, he wasn't going to keep questioning it as he didn't know if the window had made a mistake and could take away his ability and especially his ultimate. Zero sighed as he peaked around the corner, finding that non of them had anything worse then a knife taped to a broom handle.

'They haven't seemed smart enough to create something up to this point?' Zero threw that aside as the closed Goblin to Zero came within jumping distance to the door. Zero turned and jumped towards the Goblin before slamming his foot into its face, Spartan style. The beast went flying backwards, teeth flying everywhere. As the Goblin slammed into the floor before sliding three feet and hitting the wall, the other four all turned to stair at him.

Zero smiled at the four as they staired at him. "Morning." Zero took off running down the hall towards the stairs. He could hear them chasing after him, however that was what he had been hoping for. Zero turned on his heal to find three of the goblins in a very loose single file line while the fourth was off to the side. 'It will do.' Zero crouched and raised his left pointer finger before firing a Death Beam at the three.

The beam slammed through the firsts chest and instantly killing it while the other two had an arm cut off and the third had an eye and an ear blown off. Without pause, Zero rapidly pulled his arm to the left towards the fourth. The foot thick beam condensed by two inches before slashing towards the fourth. The whip slashed through the three's bodies, effectively killing them before slapping the fourth into the wall.

Zero didn't wait for the whip to disappear before he was sprinting towards the fourth. He knew it wouldn't kill it as it hadn't even cut through the thirds and seconds head. Zero glanced at the three laying on the ground, finding they were indeed dead before arriving next to the Goblin who was standing from his position.

The Goblin recovered before Zero could make it to him, however he had lost his weapon on impact. The Goblin saw Zero racing towards him and forgone looking for a weapon and instead bared its teeth and claws at him. Zero pulled his arm back, the stake with a point in his hand. As they made contact, it became apparent what there strengths were instantly. Zero's body was stronger and bigger, which also made him slower. The Goblin's body was smaller and weaker, but it also made it faster and more allusive.

Zero struck out with the spiked wood, only for the Goblin to jump out of the way. The attack caused Zero to be off balance, something the Goblin took full advantage of. Without fail, the creature bit into Zero's lifted left arm before ripping a chunk out. Zero groaned in pain before swiping his left arm out as he fell forward. The blow threw the Goblin off, sending it slamming into the wall. Zero quickly regained his balance and looked at the Goblin.

'I can't use another finger for a single Goblin...' Zero decided that he would have to improvise. He turned tail and took off running once more. At first Zero couldn't hear any pursuing foot steps, however after a moment there was a single pare of them chasing him. Zero couldn't help but grin as he threw himself into a random room. He raced behind the bed before reaching into his bag and throwing one of the items into the bathroom.

Zero heard the Goblin come into the room before the item hit the ground and it followed it into the bathroom. Zero took this moment to sprint out the rooms door, only to round the corner and stop. Once more Zero timed his kick to the Goblins rapid footsteps. Just as before, when he heard the Goblin was about to go through the door, he kicked out.
