Chapter 1 - Ryvern Ryndelle: The Silver One

July 2003, a dispute amongst the members in Kremlin, Russia, resulted in a deadly confrontation and ended up with a coup d'état. Thus, the New Soviet emerges. Combined with the deadly forces of the eastern country; China, the two Communist Alliance marched their way to conquer all of the northern Asia and succeeded, starting World War III.

United Nations gathered their forces to weaken or perhaps defeating the Alliance but to no avail. The Alliance replied by expanding their territory to the Western Europe but only halted in the middle of Germany.

There, rose a soldier named Victor Wilson who had lost his family to the war and desired vengeance. He gathered numbers of outlaws and refugees to fight under one banner; Warband of Peace.

With the weakened UN and the warband, they fought against the Alliance for years to come.

Seven years after the emergence of New Soviet, in New England, United States of America, a hovering gateway appeared. It appeared to be a portal to somewhere that is not on Earth which made the Church of Vatican made their move and secured the portal from the USA.

This made the government extremely suspicious and angered which caused the dispute between the Church and America. The Church, unable to contain the portal and preventing prophesy of old from happening, was force to leave the continent and hope for the worst not to come.

While the Rainbow Research Division, or RRD in short, was studying the portal, multiple creatures of different sizes and species came out of it, killing those who were unaware of the incoming invasion.

At the same time, simultaneously, humans around the world were granted the ability to use magic, or possessed the strength of multiple people, or even the ability to discern which method to produce an item easier.

This started the Era of Abilities and started the trend of youngsters becoming Hunters and hunting monsters in the portal; which they called as 'Dungeon', and gaining experience in subjugating the otherworldly being. Since then, multiple dungeons appeared all over the world, and the Hunters were tasked to clear each dungeons to prevent another Dungeon Break.

With the appearance of super humans, the Alliance proposed a truce which ended the world war and everyone returned to their daily lives, while some held their grudges and awaits for a more fortunate moment to strike once again.

...

Ten years after the beginning of Era of Abilities, on a casual Monday morning in the spring of Kujo; a state in the country of Shinjikura, or New Japan, one can see a teenage guy with short silver hair, walking side by side with a teenager with a rugged brunette hair.

The two wore the identical Atkinson Academy's uniform while the brunette one has a less tidy one. The brunette wore a rather tired expression on his face while the silver one smirked since the time the two bumped into each other.

"Let me guess, you got rejected again?" asked the silver haired boy.

The brunette rolls his eyes and fastens his pace.

"At least say something, Wilson."

The brunette; Wilson, turns his head to him as he flips him off.

"Screw you, 'Ryndelle'."

Ryndelle chuckles as he matches his pace to the brunette. He slings his arms to Wilson's shoulder as he gives the brunette a light punch to the stomach.

"I'm sorry, bud. I didn't mean to ruin your shitty morning." Ryndelle paused as he smirks again.

"So who was it this time?"

Wilson sighs.

"It's Subaru Toujou…"

Ryndelle nods as he mouthed 'Oh' before turning back to Wilson.

"WAIT!"

He grabs the brunette by his shoulder, halting the two of them from walking.

"You mean the loli?!"

Wilson immediately covers Ryndelle's mouth and puts his head over his arms as he performs the chokehold.

"Why don't you grab a megaphone and tell it to everyone!" Wilson yelled out in embarrassment.

Ryndelle, now free of Wilson's grips bows slightly to him as he apologises.

"My bad. I was just surprised. Never knew you'd like-"

Wilson glares at him and he refrains himself from finishing the sentence. Ryndelle puts his hands up as the two continue to walk to the school. Shortly afterwards, both of them stumbled upon a rather shy brunette lady, wearing the same uniform as them but with a skirt.

"Morning Aika," greeted Wilson half-heartedly.

The brunette girl suddenly flustered.

"Y-yeah… Morning," she replied as she struts away from the two, leaving Ryndelle and Wilson by the sidewalk, as the former has his hand raised halfway through.

"There goes my greetings…" Ryndelle puts his hand back down as he looks back at Wilson. "Well, at least you know she won't rejects you."

Wilson only scoffs as the two finally reach the school. The brunette waves his farewell to the silver hair boy as Ryndelle waves back. As the silver haired boy smiles, a spark of electricity suddenly clicks in his eyes.

...

468 AD...

A man in a medieval style clothing is currently swinging his sword to a wooden dummy in a clearing of a forest. The man is Arthur Pendragon, or known as the bastard son of the head of the Pendragon Family.

The brunette swings his sword to the dummy, marking the torso of the dummy. He swings again, now hitting the arm. It did not slashed through however, which frustrate Arthur.

The brunette drops the sword abrasively as a figure of a male in black hair emerges from the bushes behind Arthur. The man has leather armour on his torso and donning a rather clean white trousers. He also have a single metal sword that was strapped to his waist.

"Giving up?" asked the black haired man.

The brunette turns his back as he raised his fist.

"Who are you?!" demanded Arthur as the newcomer smirks.

"Shouldn't have dropped your sword if you want to fight me," said the man while he approaches the brunette.

Arthur immediately backs away.

"Relax, I'm not here to fight,"

Arthur slowly lowers his fist. He then grabs the sword back up from the ground before sheathing it back to the scabbard on his waist.

"Who are you?" asked Arthur.

"Ryvern," replied the black haired man as he crosses his arms. "And you are Arthur? Or did I assumed wrong?"

Arthur slowly nods in agreement.

"Yes, I'm the baron's bastard son."

Ryvern cracks his neck as he unsheathe his sword.

"Good, I'm here to teach you how to fight."

The black haired man launches himself to Arthur as he swings his sword, while brunette only stands there, horrified.

During the end of the first period, while waiting for the next teacher to come, Ryndelle takes out a notebook. As he opens it, lists of names written on the left side of the paper as the right one stated, 'Dead' or 'Alive' on each of the names. He flips the pages and the writing now are;

'Fallen; Azazel's whereabouts is unknown.

Heaven; unreachable.

Hell; need more information from devils.'

"Damn it… dead end once again," he said as he sighed afterwards.

The silver haired boy scratches his head before closing the book and putting it into his bag. He looks over to the front of the class as a girl with short black hair and a pair of glasses, looking stern as she marches to his desk.

"Ryndelle, help me with those."

She gestures to the stacks of papers on the teacher's desk.

Ryvern only sighs as he gets up from his desk.

"I assume that you're telling me to go by myself?" He asked as the glasses girl huffs and glares at him, sterner than before.

"You're the assistant for a reason, Ryndelle."

She then moves to the teacher's desk with Ryndelle behind her and split the stacks by 20/80. Ryndelle sighs once more and lifts the larger stack.

"Bruvelle, I'm not sure if you're a misandrist or you just hate my gut."

Ryndelle moves ahead of her as the glasses girl pouts behind him.

Evening…

After departing from school and waves his goodbye to Wilson, Ryndelle enters his house after unlocking the front door. There was no one but him in the house. He then proceeds to the shower and change his attire after he was done. He emerges from the house in a jogging attire.

Donning a red tank top, black leggings and a pair of black sneakers, he begins his usual jogging routine around the suburbs of his neighbourhood. He stumbles upon some of his neighbour which he greets politely to each and everyone of them.

As the day has already darkens, Ryndelle goes to his house once more to clean up, have dinner, watch the news before going back outside. Now wearing a black hoodie that matches his black trousers, along with his black kicks.

This time, he is not out for a stroll or jog around the neighbourhood. Ryvern head towards downtown before stopping by the outside of an alleyway between two tall buildings.

In the dark alley, a creature so dark that light cannot reflect itself on it's skin is munching on what seems to be a corpse of a male. The creature had its limbs on all four, resembling a humanoid wolf.

Ryndelle enters the alleyway as underneath his hoodie, the light of pink colour suddenly glows bright. The creature turned its attention to Ryndelle to the silver haired boy and growls; as if to protect its food.

The expression on Ryndelle's face did not change as he approaches the creature.

"Demon..." muttered Ryndelle.

The creature suddenly growls louder and now is backing away from Ryndelle. Ryndelle raises his right fist and aims it to the creature. The creature keeps walking backwards before launching itself to the silver haired boy. Ryndelle's fist glows bright pink as a light with the same colour blasts the creatures apart.

The remains of the creature slumps down on the ground, void of any movement. Ryndelle stares at the deformed corpse of a male that the creature was eating, before turning away to the other end of the alleyway.

As Ryndelle emerges from the alleyway, the corpse of the creature disintegrated into dust.

...

The next day, in Atkinson Academy, a tired Ryndelle is walking to the teacher's office with a stack of papers on his hands. Next to him is a pouting Bruvelle who seems to be angry at him.

"I already said 'I'm sorry', Bruvelle," Ryndelle spoke in a rather worn out tone.

"Shush- I don't want to hear anything from you," Bruvelle harshly replied to him.

Ryndelle could only sighs as the two of them reached the office. He puts the papers down to the teacher's desk as Bruvelle waits for him by the entrance of the office. Once he is out from the office, Bruvelle nudges him with her elbow as the two walk back to their class.

Along the way, murmurs and whispers filled the halls the two walk into. Bruvelle stills pouts next to the tired Ryndelle.

It's been two months since the start of the new year. Ryndelle was only a new kid of Atkinson who transferred from United States of America back then. During the first day of his class, both Bruvelle and him were picked to be the class monitor and the assistant respectively.

After that, the two have grown closer to each other even up to the point that others started a rumour that the two of them were dating; which was not true.

As Ryndelle and Bruvelle still walking to their class, Ryvern suddenly heard something unbelievable from Sona.

"Hehe."

Ryndelle could not believe his ears as he heard she laughed. He then sees Bruvelle gestures him to come nearer. However, she is not wearing the uniform of Atkinson Academy, but a violet dress while she's surrounded by a field of lilacs.

Her short bob cut black hair, her bluish-purple colour eyes, and her beautiful pinkish lips, he could stare at those features of hers as he felt his heart grew warm.

"Ryvern..."

She called.

"Ryvern..."

His name was spoken once more.

"Ryvern..."

Ryndelle blinks his eyes open and realised he is back at the school, and is staring at Bruvelle who is looking away as a tint of red can be seen around her ears.

"Did you just called me by my first name-"

"Shut it!" Bruvelle suddenly yelled. "You weren't answering when I called you. That's why I- I-"

Sona clenches her fists as her face gets red. She then storms off, leaving Ryndelle as the other students who were around the hallway to whisper to one another.
