Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

"What's happening to her, Kyle?" Ella asked frantically. "If I had known that this was going to happen, I wouldn't have done it."

Kyle looked towards me on the couch, passed out from the pain, and sighed. "He warned us that it would hurt, I'm just curious as to what it did."

"I'm sure she's going to need something to eat when she wakes up, so I'm going to start cooking something for her, you can go out and hunt, and call Kiah, tell him what happened," Ella replied as she walked into the kitchen. "Don't worry about us, we'll be fine, and you know it."

Kyle walked after her and pulled her into a hug and kissed her, "I love you, Ella, and I'll be home soon enough." He walked back to the front door and left.

Ella watched him leave, and with a smile on her face, she headed to the kitchen and started cooking for me.

"What should I prepare for her?" Ella thought to herself, "if I remember correctly, she loves pasta, and that's easy enough to cook, even for a vampire."

As Ella started pulling pans for the pasta and the sauce she heard the front door open, she smiled to herself and said loud enough that you could hear from the kitchen to the living room, "you just can't stay away from me for too long can you love?" She just barely finished her sentence when she smelled that it wasn't Kyle, but a werewolf that she didn't know.

She ran into the living room and saw me sitting on top of him with a silver knife to his throat.

"Who sent you?" I asked defensively. "If you lie to me, I'll kill you slowly." I pressed the knife harder to his throat.

He shuttered and looked to Ella for help. She giggled at him, "You honestly think I am going to help you, when you broke into my boyfriend's house, attacked my best friend, and she's kicking your ass. I don't think so, buddy, sorry."

"You might want to answer her question, though, before she gets too impatient." She pointed to me as I pressed the knife harder to his throat so that the blood flowed freely down his neck.

"I don't know who sent me!" He frantically screamed, "Honestly I don't know, please don't kill me, I was in the neighborhood when my pack leader told me that there was a hit out on you and all the pack's who knew about it would be after you!" Trying his hardest not to cry, he continued his story. "I'm so low in the pack they wouldn't listen to me when I told them I had found you, I had heard your scream, and I knew it wasn't a human scream. I'm sorry, please let me go, and I'll leave you alone, I won't tell anyone I promise; please don't kill me, please." He finished sobbing.

"What do you mean it wasn't a human scream, does she look like a vampire or a werewolf to you?" Ella asked, hoping he didn't know that portal walkers existed.

"No I know she's neither, but I know she's not human, I can smell supernatural all over her, I'm surprised you can't smell it, vampire." He practically spat the words out at her.

"But you'll be lucky to get out of town alive," He looked from me to Ella.

The front door started to open, Ella ran behind it before anyone would see her, when the door opened all the way, Kiah stepped in, surprise all over his face as he stared at me then at the werewolf on the floor. Ella stepped out from behind the door and shut it Kiah.

"You're late," Ella said, slightly annoyed as she walked back towards the kitchen.

"I'm going to finish cooking Yelena dinner, next time, don't take so long with your pack Kiah, I know you're Alpha, and I know they love Yelena. But next time, she might not be alive for them to protect." She walked into the kitchen closing the door behind her.

"Yelena, I can take it from here, you need to rest," Kiah said as he looked me over, "I promise he won't hurt you." He said as he took my hand that held the knife and replaced it with his and softly pushed me to the side, "Lie down on the couch, listen if you want to but please sleep if you can."

I nodded laying myself back on the couch falling asleep instantly, following a path to a strange dream. In this dream I was three different supernatural beings; a vampire, a werewolf, then there was me, just as I am, one of the last portal walkers roaming the world. We merged into one being, As fast as it started, it ended just as quickly, and I woke up in a cold sweat.
