When I woke up, my body was stiff from the changes coursing through me. I stretched looking around, the bed I fell asleep in was a California king set in an old-fashioned canopy bed. It was donned with scarlet red bedding and black curtain drapes for the canopy.
The room itself had been painted forest green, with white trimming. There were several chairs in the room all lined in black, matching the style of the bed. This definitely should have been the master bedroom and not meant to be a spare room. But with a vampire's sensitivity to light, they prefer to have basement bedrooms.
As I got out of the bed to stretch my legs, I noticed that Kiah wasn't in the room with me. I got up checking the bathroom, he wasn't there either. As I was in the bathroom I started up the shower and studied the room closer.
The shower was made of thick glass, and it was at least 10x10. It had two shower heads on each side, on the ceiling, and it had a rainfall showerhead. It had ledges on the back wall for all your showered goods. Next to it sat a deep-set Jacuzzi soaking tub, and next to the tub was a huge old-fashioned vanity.
As I hopped into the shower I heard someone come into the bedroom.
"Yelena, is it you in here?" She asked making her way into the bathroom.
"Yup, I'm in the shower silly, you had to have heard the water running," I replied. "I forgot to grab some towels, though, and I noticed there weren't any hanging up. Can I ask you to grab me one, please?" I asked as nicely as possible.
"Yeah, I'll be right back with one." She replied as she closed the door to the bathroom.
I needed a hot shower; I could feel my muscles relax with the hot water running down my body. I noticed copper tint to the water that was draining. I had forgotten all about the werewolf incident.
"It was exhilarating to watch him squirm," My wolf stated. I nodded in agreement
I heard the bathroom door open again, popping my head out of the shower to say thank you, and noticed it wasn't Ella that brought me my towel, it was Kiah.
"Thank you, Kiah, for bringing me the towel, I appreciate it greatly," I said shyly, hoping my voice didn't give my embarrassment away.
"You're very welcome, Yelena; let me know if you need anything else." He closed the bathroom door behind him.
I began slowly washing my thick long blond hair, kneading my head softly as I thought about the last 24 hours.
I smiled as I thought about how my dad always told me I looked like my mother. For so long, I always thought that was the reason why it was so easy for him to stow me away. I never thought that it really hurt him to tell everyone he met that I wasn't his child.
My father and my brother look so much alike, while I look nothing like them. I felt that it was easier for him to say he only had one child, and that I was a friend of the family.
It hurt my feelings when he would say stuff like that. I guess I resented my father growing up because he never told me why he said the things he said to strangers. Sometimes it made me feel like he didn't want me, and that's why it was easy for me to let him go when he left me to live with Kiah's family.
I understand better now why he said those things, and love him more, I know that he was protecting me against the people back then who wanted to kill me.
As I got out of the shower and dried off, I looked into the vanity mirror and gasped. I studied my face closely realizing my face looked more sculpted. My cheekbones were higher, and my eyes were a lighter blue. I looked different than I had before. My muscles looked toned, and my training scars had healed overnight. My body looked rejuvenated.
I noticed my brush and all my make-up were on the vanity, Kiah had brought more than a towel.
"I'll have to thank him when I get out of the bathroom." I thought to myself and started to do my make-up.
As I was finishing up in the bathroom, I noticed that he had set some clothes on the steps that lead into the tub. I dressed and stepped all 5'2 of my clean body out into the master bedroom smiled.
Kiah was sitting on the bed with breakfast and a dozen red tulips, waiting for me. I blushed and walked over to him and gave him a hug and a kiss.
"Thank you for putting everything in the bathroom for me, even though all I asked for was a towel," I said quietly as I sat down to eat.
"I figured you wouldn't want me to see you naked again, so I was just trying to consider your feelings and didn't want to put you out of your comfort zone." He replied, smirking a little, and I knew it was to the thought of me naked, so I slugged him on the shoulder.
"Thank you for being considerate, I appreciate it, but don't smirk at my being naked, it's not funny," I replied as I cut up some waffles and forked them into my mouth.
He moved to sit behind me and started massaging my shoulders while I ate.
"Has anyone ever told you that you have magic hands?" I asked as I leaned back into him.
He laughed, "no one has ever told me that specifically, but you have a sick mind, little lady." He moved his hands from my neck to my shoulders.
I continued to stuff waffles in my mouth in reply as I thought about the connotation of my dry humor. He finally wrapped his arms around me hugging me, while I felt a light kiss on the back of my head.
