Chapter 7 - Yuana’s Disappointed

Bobby and Yuana were on their way to Yuana's house. It was a nice Saturday night. They enjoyed togetherness which was always fun. Yoel was no longer angry with Bobby with Yuana. Yoel was sure that Bobby was a good boy, he was not a brat like he imagined.

Finally, Yuana knew why Yoel was so strict about Yuana so she couldn't go out with just any guy. Yoel once had a girlfriend whose relationship was not good. The girl did anything she wanted. She didn't want to listen Yoel. Eventually, the girl became pregnant out of wedlock. And it made Joel very disappointed.

It was almost eight o'clock at night, Bobby and Yuana arrived home.

"That's my dad, Bob. I think he's leaving. Right now?" Yuana saw her father hugging a young woman. They would get into Prastama's car which was parked in the yard.

"Dad ..." Yuana's mouth spoke softly.

She was stunned by what she saw before her eyes. Bobby held Yuana's hand. Her father and the woman got into the car without realizing that Yuana and Bobby were there. The car left the house. Angrily, Yuana took off her shoes and threw them carelessly. It exploded instantly. "What a bad father!! How uncivilized. He had the heart to do this. Evil!!" Yuana ran into the house. Bobby picked up Yuana's shoes and followed the girl inside. He put the shoes near the door.

"Why does God let it happen? Why doesn't He answer my prayers? I ask for this family to be better, but what is the reality? You've seen my dad! Why did God give me parents who don't care about their family? Why?" Yuana vented all her anger, disappointment, and heartache.

Yuana stood looking at Bobby with tears in her eyes and her face was red with anger. Bobby couldn't say anything, because he was as surprised as Yuana was.

"There's no point in trying to be a good girl. There's no point in trying my best. My prayers, it's all for nothing, Bob. Why?" Yuan's voice was low. But the crying didn't stop.

She beat Bobby many times in his chest, while her crying did not stop. Bobby let Yuana vent all her emotions. Until her girl was finishing her crying. Finally, Yuana was disturbed with her body starting to limp. She sobbed into Bobby's chest. Bobby hugged her painfully. All the time he was trying to make Yuana strong. That day all seemed in vain. Bobby led Yuana to sit on the large living room sofa. He rubbed Yuana's wet eyes.

"I'm disappointed, Bob ... it hurts ..." Yuana was still crying.

"I know. I'm sad about seeing all this too," said Bobby. "But your exploding anger doesn't change anything, Yu."

"What should I do?" Yuana said trying to be calmer. She was still sobbing occasionally.

"Don't blame God. What happened was your father's choice. God certainly doesn't want this situation too. But humans are not robots that God installed a system in their bodies, then He is remote. Humans are given the free will to choose what kind of life. It depends on the person. he chooses the good or the bad," said Bobby.

"I'm tired, Bob . . . How long will this go on?" Yuan's voice grew softer.

"I don't know, but ask for God's strength to face everything, if indeed He allows this to happen." Bobby patted Yuana's shoulder gently.

Both were silent. Yuana made up her mind again. She had to accept the increasingly bitter reality at home. It was not just her mother and father who never got along. In front of her eyes, she saw her father carrying another woman, home.

From the next room, Ira shed tears seeing Yuana. She heard all the words of Bobby and Yuana. She didn't think she could stay last much longer in this house. It was only because of Yuana that she survived. Because she knew, Yuana needed someone who could listen to her complaints. She was relieved that Bobby was by Yuana's side.

The days go by fast. Yuana tried not to bother with the situation at home. However, she couldn't do anything to fix it. As a daughter, she was never considered. It was better to focus on school. So far, the only business with her father and mother was money. She needed their love. She did, but they couldn't see it. Anyway, they were adults, even approaching old people. They had already known better what to do.

Exam season was drawing near. Yuana concentrates on studying. Of course, studying with these two extraordinary friends who cared about her.

"What's the formula for this? I don't understand yet." Bobby looked at Manfred's notebook.

"Let me see!" Manfred explained to Bobby. Yuan watched. The three of them were serious about studying, they didn't want their grades to drop. Going to school every day, paying the school fee, having tired body, mind, and also feelings, if the results were bad, it was a loss.

Suddenly Marieta appeared. That afternoon they did study at Manfred's house.

"Hi, guys ..." she greeted kindly.

"You came home late?" Bobby asked Marieta.

"Yeah, I was so busy today," Marieta replied.

"Alright ..." Bobby said curling his nice lips.

"Rieta!" Manolita came to the room.

"Mom ..." Marieta kissed her mother's cheek.

Yuana looked at the two of them until they entered another room. There was envy in her heart. She was never addressed that way by her mother. Especially hugs and kisses. Ah, would she feel mother's love like that? When?

"Hey, daydreaming! Come on, get on with the homework." Manfred swung his arm in front of Yuana's face.

"Oh ... sorry ..." said Yuana.

"What's wrong with you?" Bobby asked Yuana.

"I envy Marieta. She's very close to her mom. Never mind, it's okay." Yuana smiled.

"I can be your mother," said Manfred.

"Oh, how could that be?!" Yuan laughed.

"Don't you believe me?" Manfred stood up. "Yuan, honey, which homework is difficult. Let me help here."

"Ugh ... Manfred, ah, it's amused you know!" Yuana laughed seeing Manfred imitating a woman's style. Bobby laughed too. In the end, I forgot to study.

A few minutes later they focused again on their respective books.

"Come on, kids, it's almost four o'clock, you need extra nutrition, so your brain can think smoothly." Manolita came with bowls filled with green bean porridge still warm.

"Nice! It makes me even more excited!" said Bobby.

"Thank you, ma'am," said Yuana with a smile.

"Yes, honey. Eat a lot. If you don't have enough, you will add more. Yes?" Manolita rubbed Yuana's head. A beautiful smile appeared on the corners of her lips.

Yuana felt something warm flowing in her heart. Was it the feeling of a mother lovingly treated her? Her heart was really full of emotion.

"Yes, ma'am," said Yuana. She felt she found the mother she longed for in Manolita.

Manolita left the three young people, continued her work. Actually, Manolita heard what Yuana said. The girl wanted to be loved like Marieta. She knew how Yuana was because Manfred told the story. She also knew that her son had fallen in love with the poor girl.

If Manfred could really be with Yuana, he would be overjoyed. Because he wanted to give her the love that Yuana couldn't get in her house. Unfortunately, Manfred knew first that Bobby also fell in love with Yuana. He chose to back off.

"So, are your parents still alive, Fred?" asked Yuana.

"I think so," said Manfred, nodding.

"Your mom was from Aussie. Why did she live with you here? Indonesia. It was a foreign country for her," Bobby said.
