After the wedding, Bobby and Lisa went home to Lisa's parents' house. Bobby's father and mother still stay with Amara with Widyo at the hospital.
Bobby called Manfred. He told all that he went through. Manfred was back and forth in shock and breathed in disbelief. Manfred's heart broke when he heard Bobby's story. Manfred knew Bobby was in a lot of pain with all he had been through.
Knock knock!!
There was a knock on the bedroom door.
"Just come in, Lis," said Bobby. He put his phone on the table.
Lisa opened the door. "Sorry, your lunch, Bob. It's past mealtime too," said Lisa.
"I'll be there in a minute," Bobby said. Lisa closed the door again.
Bobby continued texting Manfred. He asked for Manfred's prayers to keep him strong. Then he went to the dining room. It turned out that Berto and Dewita had come from the hospital. They had lunch together.
It turned out that Lisa was good at cooking. She made several menus and plated them very well. Bobby smiled. The food was also quite delicious.
"You are good at cooking, Lis. I'm not worried about leaving Bobby here. He likes to eat. Just cook anything, he will eat voraciously," said Dewita.
Lisa smiled at the corners of her lips. At least the information still made Lisa a little relieved. Bobby was not a spoiled child.
"Yes, your cooking is delicious. I'm sure I'll feel at home here," said Bobby.
Berto and Dewita gave some advice to Bobby. They would return to Malang soon. Bobby's needs for college and his life with Lisa would continue to be supported during his study. Dewita also advised Lisa to pay more attention to her father. The man was still not relieved to accept the fact that his wife was seriously ill and on the verge of death.
Lisa nodded at all of Bobby's mother and father's advice.
*****
After Berto and Dewita came home, soon Lisa's father came. She looked lethargic and uninspired.
"Dad, you need to take a rest first. I will take care of mommy tonight. You can go back to the hospital tomorrow," said Lisa.
"Okay," Widyo answered simply. Lisa left her father in his room.
Lisa also cleaned the house and prepared dinner. Bobby helped her. Bobby was quite happy because Lisa was a diligent woman. She knew how to take care of the house. It must be because of difficult family conditions, there was no helper, so Lisa could do anything by herself.
Then Bobby got ready to take Lisa to the hospital to take care of her mother.
"Lisa ..." Bobby called out to Lisa.
"At daddy's room, Bob!" Lisa answered. Bobby went to his father-in-law's room. When he entered, he was surprised to see Widyo curled up on the bed, while Lisa was squatting to pick up the medicine that was scattered on the floor and mattress.
"What happened, Lisa?" Bobby approached Lisa.
"He almost drank all the contents of this medicine." Lisa showed Booby the medicine bottle in her hand. It was a sedative. Bobby was flabbergasted at that.
"I called him for dinner. He was almost taking these medicines. He had taken two pills. Luckily, I saw it, otherwise ..." Lisa rubbed her eyes.
On the bed, Lisa's father was still in the same position, curled up, with a blank stare.
"Get some food and drink. Let him eat at his room," said Bobby.
"Okay." Lisa brought the medicines and kept them. Then she took food and drink for her father.
Lisa approached her father. Bobby helped Widyo sit down, then Lisa fed her father.
"Lis, why isn't your mother well? I can't see her like that ..." said Widyo sadly.
"Dad, if you live this way, how will mommy get healthy? She is sad to see you like this. You must be strong. Now we have Bobby with us. What does he think about you now?" Lisa persuaded her father. She fed her father patiently.
"Please, forgive me," said Widyo in a hoarse and sad voice.
After helping her father eat, Lisa let her father sleep. She left the room and headed to the dining room.
Bobby was there waiting to have dinner together.
"I don't know what to do for daddy," said Lisa. "Daddy really depends on Mommy. Mommy was the hero of his life. When he was young, daddy was a street boy who didn't care about life. When he met mommy, he fell in love, he wanted to change the way he lived. It was mommy who helped him to become a good man. Turns out, he was fragile again seeing mommy is sick. "
Bobby held Lisa's hand. He wanted to strengthen the girl. Slowly, Bobby began to open his heart to accept Lisa in his life. Her mother and father were right, Lisa needed him.
"I'm sorry, Bob. Maybe I can't be a good wife to you. I don't know what to do yet. Even the thought of having a boyfriend scares me, but now I, I'm a wife. I ... I'm scared..." Lisa rubbed her wet eyes.
"I'm afraid too, Lisa. I also never thought at this age, I am not eighteen yet, I am getting married. Becoming a husband. It is so weird, right? We will learn together through this," said Bobby. "How we keep the promise to love and be faithful to each other, right? Even though our marriage doesn't seem like a true marriage, everything is still serious. It's not a joke. We also have to take it seriously."
"What did your girlfriend say?" Lisa looked at Bobby guiltily.
"Yuan?" It hurt when Bobby mentioned that name. He missed Yuana so much. He missed her smile, her smug, and her cute face when she was angry.
"I haven't said anything about us yet. It's very hard for her if she finds out. Yuana is more or less like you. She is easy to cry. It is just, she's more stubborn. It's hard to leave her because she's also fragile."
"So, you guys are still dating?" Saying this, an uncomfortable feeling came through Lisa's mind.
"Of course not. I broke our relationship by sending her a letter. I asked our best friend to calm her down. When I'm ready, and she is too, I'll tell her everything." Bobby explained his and Yuana's situation.
Lisa kept asking about Yuana, it made Bobby feel sore in his heart. Bobby tried to dodge when Lisa asked again by turning to ask why Lisa wanted to know about Yuana.
"I know you still love her and ..."
"Lisa, no matter how much I love her, I have to leave her behind. I live with you now. You are my wife, you are my future." Bobby didn't like to say this, but it was the truth.
Lisa was quite surprised by Bobby's slightly raised voice. Lisa began to understand, Bobby was uncomfortable when she asked him about that.
"Sorry, Bob," Lisa said quietly.
"No, it doesn't matter." Bobby again continued to feed the food in front of him which was almost finished.
At the end of the dinner, Bobby told Lisa that they should be friends, in the sense of not thinking they were husband and wife. Maybe that way they wouldn't be awkward with each other. Lisa nodded. She just agreed with what Bobby said. Maybe it was better for them.
They didn't know what would happen in the future, Bobby and Lisa couldn't imagine. The fact, they lived together because of their parents' request, for the sake of Amara's happiness. Even though Bobby was starting to realize that Lisa needed a friend in this difficult situation, still, if possible, what he just passed through was all just a dream and he quickly woke up back to his true life.
