Chapter 17 - Bobby’s Explanation

"I am sorry, Yuan. I just have my brave to see you." Bobby looked at Yuana. It felt like he wanted to hug Yuana. But he held back. He was not Yuana's boyfriend anymore. He was Lisa's husband.

"Sit down, please ..." Yuana was a little nervous. Wanted Yuana to burst into Bobby's chest like she liked to do. But there was something in her heart holding Yuana back from doing it. Yuana tried to be as calm as possible.

Bobby sat down. He was also confused about where to start. It was really awkward like someone just met Yuana again after a long time.

Yuana couldn't be angry when she saw Bobby. Bobby was thinner. What really happened to him?

"As your request, I will explain everything to you. Thank you to let me in the house." Bobby started the conversation. It would be difficult. Bobby still managed the words what he had to say.

"I'm really sorry, Yuan. I had no choice but to let you go. I know you must be angry, disappointed, and hurt. Letting you go was a very hard thing for me. It hurts so much to have to break up with you."

Yuana looked at Bobby. The pounding in her heart wouldn't let up. Seeing Bobby there was a restlessness that greeted Yuana's heart.

"What the hell happened, Bob?" asked Yuana.

Bobby looked down, he didn't answer right away. He took a deep breath, swallowed hard, and clenched his fists at his sides.

"I've been married, Yu," Bobby said facelessly looking at Yuana. It was so heavy to say.

"What, Bob?" Yuana thought she heard wrong.

Bobby lifted his head, daring to look into those beautiful eyes that used to make him flutter. And the pounding was still there, approaching Bobby's heart.

Yuana couldn't believe what Bobby said. Married? Was that what Bobby just said?

"Yeah. I couldn't believe it myself. But that's what happened." Bobby spoke sadly.

Bobby was married. But why? Did he have a girlfriend behind Yuana? Then was there an extramarital relationship that made Bobby responsible for it?

Yuana's face immediately turned red. The fear was getting stronger. Tears started to collect at the corners of her eyes. As much as possible, Yuana refrained from crying hearing this.

"This is not what I want. I always want to be with you. This is also not what Lisa wants. It turns out that we have been betrothed since childhood. My parents owe so much to Lisa's parents, that when Lisa's parents asked for their good relationship to be strengthened by marrying me and their daughter, Mom and Dad agreed." Bobby started to tell Yuana what had happened.

Bobby explained his parents' plan to introduce Bobby to Lisa by allowing Lisa to stay at Bobby's house because Lisa was going to study in Malang. By staying at Bobby's house, they would get along easily. Unfortunately, a few months before graduating from high school, Lisa's mother was seriously ill with liver cancer.

Her condition quickly deteriorated. And Lisa's mother asked before she died, Lisa married Bobby. She wanted Lisa not to be alone after she left. Because Lisa was the same as Bobby, the only child.

Yuana stared blankly at Bobby, she didn't know what to say. She was still digesting everything she heard. It was like hearing the story in a movie. Was that really what happened with Bobby? It didn't make any sense.

"If Lisa's mother wasn't sick, Lisa would have even chosen to run away. But she couldn't go. She just wanted to do her mother's last wish. Even though she did it with great sadness and guilt, to me, to you." Bobby continued.

"Me?" Finally, Yuana opened her mouth.

"Yeah. She asked about my girlfriend. And I talked about you to her," said Bobby. "We got married in the hospital. No party. Just married, in front of the pastor and our parents."

Yuana was flabbergasted at this part. It was really sad what happened to Bobby and Lisa.

Bobby's story continued. A few weeks after their marriage, Lisa's mother died. And the next day her father, who had been on the verge of depression since Lisa's mother was sick, went on Bobby's motorbike and had an accident that cost him, his life.

"This is all like a nightmare, Yu. Sometimes I still hope to wake up from this dream soon." Bobby looked at Yuana.

Those beautiful eyes still stared in disbelief at Bobby. She was still confused about Bobby's almost unreadable story.

"I can understand if you think all of this is just a lie. If possible, this is just a dream, I will wake up soon, then I can return to you. I can't deny, my heart is still filled with you. But Lisa is my wife now. She is alone. Only me, she has. She's now my responsibility." Bobby took a deep breath.

The truth was so bad. Never expected, never thought of. But Bobby had to face and he had to tell Yuana. The beautiful face in front of Bobby was still silent. Yes, if it was all just a dream. Of course, Yuana really wanted to be with Bobby again.

"Lisa is a little like you. She is easy to cry, regret the situation, very easy to be weak with things she has to face. With all of this, sometimes comes the fear, Yu, can I get through it all? Sorry, I, I can't fulfil my promise, our promise. We can't be together anymore." Bobby's eyes filled with tears.

Yuana's throat felt choked to hear all that. Both of them were silent. Bobby's heart really broke. Yuana was the goal of his life. He wanted to make Yuana happy. But the reality went another way. He had to help Lisa. And the first was to make himself strong.

"Bobby ..." Yuana opened her mouth. "I'm sorry ... I have a lot of bad thoughts about you. It turns out that you are actually suffering a lot, facing a life that is much more difficult than mine. Oh my God ... I don't know ... what to say." Yuan shook her head sadly.

"Until now I still miss you, Yu. Often all our memories appear. When I wake up, sometimes I still have to load, to believe, I already have a different life." Sadness came from Bobby's voice.

Yuana stepped closer to Bobby. She hugged Bobby. She couldn't stand all this anymore. Longing, disappointed, sad, and full of questions swirled in her head, filling her heart.

"I miss you too, Bob. So much..." A subtle vibration crept into Yuana's heart again.

Bobby returned Yuana's hug. Her petite body, her fragrant hair. Ah, all Bobby's feeling again. Let go of the hug of longing, both of them crying.

"Am I forgiven?" Bobby said still hugging Yuana.

"Yes, of course." Yuana let go of Bobby's arms and wiped her face full of tears.

"Thank you ..." Bobby was very relieved, finally the situation, and Yuana melted back.

Yuana looked at Bobby. "Tell me about your wife."

"Well, wife ... it's still weird I hear that." Bobby smiled. "She often asked about you. She wants you to be okay. She encouraged me to meet you. She didn't want any misunderstandings between you and me longer."

Frankly, Yuana was surprised to hear that. Yuana's smile appeared on her lips. "Thank God, you have a good wife. That's good."

"What's it like being a newlywed?" Yuana's smile hadn't disappeared.

"Nothing good. We sleep in separate rooms." Bobby shrugged his shoulders.

"What?" Yuana's eyes widened. Another surprising thing from Bobby.
