Amy woke up slightly exhausted and squinted at the digital clock above her head which read 04:02 am. Matt was still cuddled around Amy, causing her to smile in contention. She gently unwrapped herself from Matt and headed to the toilet to fully relieve and took a cold shower.
25 minutes later, she came out of the bathroom dripping wet and fully awake and was about to take her hair-dryer and towel when she saw Matt already packing up clothes to the travelling bag.
"Good morning Amy, looks that you need an extra hand so I decided to pack for you. Your flight is in less than thirty minutes, so you gotta be extra fast so you do not miss it".
Amy could not help but beam her best smile yet to Matt and came closer to Matt and kissed him tenderly "Thank you for supporting me. This is my first time going on a mission, so I'm a bit scared." Amy said, with a worried look on her face.
"No honey, don't be scared at all. You are more than qualified for this. Remember the spy class you took up a year ago, and you were ranked the first out of all the rest of your mates you competed with, so yeah, you're more qualified than ever, just believe in yourself." Matt then looked into her eyes.
"Hey look at me, you've got this, you've got this. All I ask is that you should be careful out there okay?"
"Okay, I'll be thankful, thanks for the pep talk, I feel better now" Amy stroked his hair and smiled. "You know, I should be a motivational speaker one day," he said, causing Amy to laugh lightly "You should be, you know how to make a person happy, so YOU should be a motivational speaker" Amy replied.
Minutes later, Amy had packed and dressed to casuals and was ready to go. Matt grabbed the car keys from the study table and left behind Amy.
Twenty minutes later, they arrived at the airport, Amy alighted off the car and rechecked her luggage to make sure nothing was left behind.
"I'm going to miss you so much Amy," Matt said sadly.
"I'll only be gone for one week, remember that. I'll meet you right here a week after, okay sweetie pie" Amy said and moved closer to Matt and gently kissed him. Matt then kissed her back in the same fashion, before pulling out and heading towards the airport, dragging her bag behind her.
Amy placed her bag into the luggage carrier, passed through the security system, handed her a ticket, and before she knew it, she was on a plane heading to Boston.
"Good morning ladies and gentlemen, we would begin our flight from San Francisco California to Boston, Massachusetts. The hour of flight would be 5 hours and 40 minutes, please fasten your seatbelt as we would begin our ascent. Have a wonderful flight!"
Amy fastened her seatbelt tightly. She then took out her smartphone and her earpiece and played her favourite music. The plane then began moving slowly first, then sped faster and faster until the plane lifted off the ground and to the air.
Amy decided to use this opportunity to rest her eyes properly before the sleep she didn't have. 15 minutes after the plane lifted off, she began to feel drowsy until she eventually slept.
Five hours later, another announcement was made. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at Boston, Massachusetts, please fasten your seatbelts as we begin our descent"
Amy woke up from her slumber and rubbed her eyes before attempting to fasten her belt. After a light thud was felt, the aeroplane came to a final halt, prompting the passengers to alight off the plane.
Amy came out of the aeroplane and looked around. "Welcome to Boston Amy, where I would not spend my holiday chilling, but spying on a bunch of innocent people" Amy smiled wryly.
She flagged a cab and requested the driver to take her to the nearest hotel, which the driver readily obliged. A few minutes later, she arrived at a luxurious hotel called Hampton Inn Boston, the cabman then walked over his car trunk and took out the bag and handed them over to Amy, who promptly paid the driver before heading to the hotel's building.
After paying for a full week worth of staying, she was given a key to a room. So, she headed there and opened the door.
When the door opened, she was greeted by the luxurious setting of the room, but she was too focused on the job to admire the view as she dropped her bag tiredly and dropped her bag and closed her eyes.
A few minutes later, she opened her luggage and brought out a PC a tiny microphone, a mic, and a set of amplifiers. She arranged them on the table and started to connect them orderly.
"Oh, I have to rent a car!" she thought out loud. She had already planned for this anyway, so she rang the receptionist and moments later, the line got connected.
"I'm sorry for disturbing you, but if you don't mind, I just wanted to ask one question. Where do I rent a car around here?" Amy asked.
"No problem, please hold on."
Moments later, the receptionist spoke, "There are two places I could point you to, though with what I'm looking at one is closed, the other is opened now, so I'll write you the address, come downstairs and take them."
"No ma'am, calling it would suffice, I'll write it here," Amy said, and moments later, she held the address of a car rental.
She planned to rent the car tomorrow, but as for now, she wanted to familiarize herself with her new environment. So she took a walk outside the hotel and examined her surroundings.
James home is not too far from here, and taking a cab, and their residence is ten minutes away from here, Amy thought.
