Amy packed up her documents on the table that was given by her manager to process later, looking at the time at intervals. She then shut down her computer, packed the rest of her belongings into her bag, and readjusted her makeup.
03:56 pm.
Amy left her office and took an elevator to the down floor. Not long after she left the elevator when she began hearing footsteps behind her. At first, it didn't bother her that much, but as the footsteps got louder and closer to her, she was forced to look back, and that action caused her to trip on her shoes, and all the documents she was holding fell and scattered to the floor.
"Oh, pardon me, Amy, I did not mean to scare you," Henry said as he bent down and attempted to pick her files on the floor. "No no it's fine Henry, please don't bother yourself" Amy desperately said as she collected the papers from Henry's hand.
"No, I'll bother, I tripped you unintentionally, so I'm responsible for this" he firmly held the paper preventing Amy from retrieving the files back. Amy sighed painfully. This guy again. "Well, have you thought about my proposal Amy, I should expect an answer before you leave to do your business." He whispered at Amy.
Amy did not even bother to arrange the files she was picking up. She then packed all of them all in one go and forcefully collected the ones Henry was holding. "No Henry, don't you understand what I told you yesterday? I have a boyfriend, please, stop bothering me please!"
Amy then stood up and left the building. "you're making a mistake Amy, big mistake!" Amy could hear Henry shouting from the glass door, but Amy did not react at all. She then strolled through the parking lot and walked up to her car with Matt in the driver seat.
Amy sat down exhausted. Matt then looked at Amy and stroked her hair "That guy again?"
"Yes, but that's not important. There's something I want to tell you. Please drive out of here. I don't like the way he's staring at me, it's making me uncomfortable." Amy requested, prompting Matt to step on the gas and drive out of the parking lot.
A few minutes later, Matt said "You said you wanted to tell me something, what is it" he then took a glance at Amy before focusing on the road. "Oh yeah, um… the thing is, I'm not going to be around for one week," she said, looking at Matt's face for reactions, and sure enough, there was one.
"What, wh-why?" Matt asked confused. Amy then continued "my manager gave me a mission document. I am going on a mission to Massachusetts first thing tomorrow morning".
Matt's face turned from confusion to sadness. "S-so you are not going to be by my side for a whole week, that's torture Amy" Matt muttered. Amy's heart broke, she had never seen Matt this sad before, except for the time his sister died in a tragic motorcycle accident.
"Oh honey, please don't be sad, it is killing me. I promise to come back as soon as possible after the mission, please understand" she said as she held Matt's hand tightly. Matt then smiled lightly "Alright honey, I understand. Why am I even sad, I feel stupid for feeling sad about this, I should be supporting your career."
Matt then became thoughtful. "What is the mission anyway? Is it about taking out someone?" Matt question made Amy angry "You think if this mission was to kill somebody, I would be holding it with me?"
"No, dear, that's not what I meant. What I meant was—was, I'm just saying, with the kind of people you work with, I will not be surprised if they order anyone to do that." Matt defended. "No, it's not about taking out anybody.
"Then what is the mission for?"
Amy then looked at the file in her bag, then looked at Matt, who was focused on the road. "Matt, you know we've always shared secrets about each other, and I will love to tell you about this mission. However, I can't"
Matt then glanced at Amy. "Oh, I understand. It's a company's secret" he said, with a disappointed look on his face.
"No, it's not. According to this paper, it was said to keep the mission processes confidential. Matt, please trust me when I tell you that you do not know what is inside this folder." Amy soothingly said. "Besides, they might be listening to our conversations."
Matt then sighed and smiled "Alright alright, anyway, since I'm not going to see you again, how about I own you for the night till you leave tomorrow morning, I want no side jobs at all" Matt smiled and looked at Amy. "Deal" Amy smiled back.
"Hold on, how are you even going?" Matt suddenly said. "Oh, they'd already booked a flight earlier for me." Amy said, and looked out of the window, 'very efficient bastards' she thought.
When they arrived at their home, she promptly cooked dinner for Matt and herself. Matt turned on the TV and browsed through Netflix for trending romance movies.
However, Matt then looked at Amy and kissed her by the forehead, who responded by kissing him on the lips, and just like that, they began slowly kissing each other passionately, before becoming vigorous. Then Amy stopped, breathing heavily "Let's finish this in the room".
Then they both left the sitting room to the bedroom and continued their intimacy till midnight.
