Chapter 22 - Old times

The two sisters continued their chitchat.

"You never told you were getting married!" Hailey let out a sigh.

"I'm sorry Stace, it's not that I deliberately didn't want to tell you. Dad made me not to!"

"Why?"

"He said he didn't want you bothering yourself to leave the training ground to attend it!" She explained.

"But you should have at least told me you had a boyfriend you intended marry!"

"I never did Stace!"

"Wait, I don't get explain!"

"I shouldn't be telling you this but you're my sister and I trust you. I never dated Jeremy. Dad and his friend arranged the marriage!" She stated.

"What! So Hailey was married by an arrangement! How could dad have done that!" She thought to herself.

"But why did you accept it?"

"It's complicated. I can't explain everything here and now okay!" She said tapping her sister on the back. Stace was shocked beyond measures. She couldn't believe dad could do such! That was why neither of them told her about it. She felt bad for Hailey, being in a marriage that she barely knew the guy.

"But, are you happy about it?"

"Yes, I'm happy about it. Jeremy's a nice guy. He's even nicer than I thought. I may not know much about him but he is calmand really nice. He doesn't treat me anyhow!* She assured her worried sister but she wouldn't budge.

"Okay fine but if he ever does anything to hurt you, just put a call across to me and I'll deal with him. No one messes with my big sister."

"Thanks dear!" They hugged each other.

While the girls grew up, everyone knew Hailey as the calm and shy type but Stacey was the opposite. She was very outspoken and didn't shut away from anything. Roberts was always summoned at their school because her. She was always angered easily..

When she got teased in school by her mates, it always ended in a fight or detention. She didn't have many friends because of her temper. Hee behaviour often made Roberts think she wasn't of his blood. He wasn't troublesome. No one dared hurt Hailey because of Stacey

There was a day when Noah, a classmate of Hailey's bullied her (Hailey). When Stace heard of it, she dealt with Noah. She humiliated him in front of everyone during school break. Although she got detention for that, she wasn't bothered. Noah got what he deserved and that was what mattered to her.

Over the years, she had learnt to stay calm but she couldn't manage her anger. She could punch anyone if she was angry. The only person she listened to was Hailey. That was why she considered her as her sister and best friend. They were very close.

Hailey decided to take her mind off what they had discussed.

"Let's play a game!" She showed her the play station 4 underneath the television shelf.

"Cool! Just like old times!" She giggled.

"Yeah, just like old times!" The two ladies enjoyed playing Mortal Kombat. Stace never lost when it came to this game.

"I dare you Stace! You can't defeat me!" Hailey stated and she laughed sardonically.

"You know it! I'll always defeat you!" She said with pride.

"We'll see about that!" She laughed. The two sisters played the game like pros. They had enjoyed the game since they were kids. But luck was not on Hailey's side and Stace defeated her. They played the game over and over again. Stace was always the victor.

"I told you I'd win!"

*Fine! You won!!" She chattered in victory, teasing Hailey.
