Jeremy parked the car by the roadside. The duo got down from the car. Jeremy opened the booth of the car and Hailey brought everything out. He helped her carry some things.
"Thank you Jeremy!" She appreciated him as he helped her.
"You're welcome!" He replied. The grasslands were close to a lake. The lake flowed from the city to its outskirts. They walked down and stopped when they were close to the lake. Jeremy and Hailey set up the picnic ground. They sat down quietly. Hailey looked around admiring the scenario.
"What a lovely sight! Don't you think Jeremy?" She asked expecting an answer from him.
"Yes it's very beautiful!" He admitted. Hailey continued admiring the natural view. The place was really quiet and free from all the hustles and bustles of the city.
"Uhm Hailey, we came here to have picnic and not to admire the place!" He stated reminding her of their reason for being there.
"Oh yeah! You're right!" She exclaimed.
"Let's eat Hailey!" He said to her. He picked up a plate to serve Hailey but she held his hand preventing him from doing anything.
"What's wrong Hailey?" He asked.
"Nothing Jeremy. I just want to do this myself!" She answered.
"Why?" He asked looking at her suspiciously.
"I have my reasons!" She simply answered. Jeremy let out a sigh and gave up because there was no point in stopping her because she wouldn't give in.
"Fine!" He said handing the plate over to her.
"Thank you!" She said with a smile. She collected the plate and started serving the meal.
"You know Jeremy, you've always been the one serving me so I decided you should have a turn." She said to him.
"Really?"
"Yes Jeremy and I'm also giving you a special treat!!" She stated placing the meal in front of him. Jeremy looked at the young lady beaming smiles before him.
"What's she up to?" He asked himself searching her face for answers. He picked up the spoon giving a suspicious look at her.
"Come on, eat up!!" She said to him. He dropped the spoon.
"Argh! Okay Hailey what are you up to?" He asked. He could no longer hide his curiosity.
"Seriously Jeremy!" She stated. She picked up the spoon and filled it up.
"Here eat!" She stretched the spoon to his mouth. Jeremy turned his face to avoid her.
"I'm not a kid Hailey. I can eat by myself!" He said.
"Uh fine! I know you can eat by yourself but this is the treat I was talking about earlier!!" She explained. What! He couldn't believe it. How could she want to feed him like a little kid. This was unexpected and unbelievable!
"No Hailey! I won't let you do that!" He stated.
"Please Jeremy. Don't say no!!" She pleaded. Jeremy got tired of her pleas and gave in. Hailey fed him like a little kid.
"Hailey you know you're the kid here and I should be the one feeding you!" He said
"Do you want to feed me?" She asked and he nodded.
"I want to also have a turn!" He said and Hailey agreed. When she was done, Jeremy returned the favour. The duo enjoyed each other's company eating that way.
"I guess the picnic idea wasn't so bad after all!" He thought to himself as he fed her.
