Chapter 1 - History (Part 1)

100 years ago, there was a legendary man that was known throughout the world as the Samurai Detective. He was a man that fought against an organisation so great the rest of the world grovelled before them. No one knew why this organisation was so powerful all they knew is that they could not be defeated. The Samurai Detective was recognised by those outside the organisation as the strongest man in the world.

He wielded two blades called the Sun and Moon blades also known as Aubade and Rondure, respectively. The moon blade was created by the blacksmith's pupil who was challenged by his master and the Sun blade was given to the blacksmith by an almighty being. With these two blades the Samurai detective was seen as unbeatable by followers and a nuisance by his foes. But before that lets go to the beginning.

The detective started his life in a middle class family, his father was a doctor and worked in the hospital in the middle of town. His mother was a local singer, so she would be at home with him for more time then his father was. The detective also had a grandfather on his father's side. He was once known as the best in the world for his martial art's ability.

When it was his 6th birthday his grandfather asked the detective's father a question, "Can your son train at my school?" The detective's father looked a little shocked at the question but then regathered himself, "Sorry, what did you say?" "I was asking if you would let your son train at my martial arts school." The detective's father turned his father and said, "Why should I let him train there? I wasn't able to spend time with my mother because you made me train so much."

The detective's grandfather had trained his son so that he could take over his martial arts school, but he decided to decline because he became interesting in medicine and wanted to find a way to cure the uncurable diseases of the world. He became passionate about medicine after his mother died (Detective's Grandmother). He wanted to make sure no one would have to suffer the way he did.

The detective's grandfather's face saddened at the words of his son, "I am sorry that I kept you training for so long." "What do you mean sorry?" "If I had known that she was going to die I would also have stayed with her more too!" The detective's father stepped back, with tears in his eyes and an upset face, "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I was only thinking of myself and didn't realise you had suffered as well." "Me too. I'm sorry I said all those things and kept you from your mother for so long." The detective's grandfather stepped forward and have a warm embrace to his son.

"You can come in now. I know you are there." The Detective's grandfather said. When the detective walked in his father was still wiping his eyes with a tissue. His grandfather was looking at him in surprise. He thought to himself, 'How was he able to keep so quiet and hide his presence like that. If I wasn't as good as I am I wouldn't have noticed. I definitely have to train him because he will become something great.' The detective's grandfather grinned.

His father turned to his son and said, "Your grandfather wants to know if you will join his martial arts school. You don't ha.." Before his father could finish speaking the detective responded "Yes, yes please. I want to do all the cool moves you can do grandad."

The detective had been listening in on the conversation from behind the door and had made up his mind immediately. The detective was smiling and laughing while looking like his grandfather, who had a big smile on his face. His dad responded, "Well I guess that decides it. All we got to do is persuade your mother now." Everyone's faces went pale at the thought of it.

After the detective left the room, the detective's father spoke with his father, and they came to an agreement that his son could train as long as the detective's grandfather would let the detective follow his dreams if he wanted to become something else. He agreed even though he wanted his grandchild to carry his legacy on for him. The detective was ecstatic as he wanted to do all the cool moves he saw his grandfather do. He went and told his friends next door about it.

After a month of convincing the detective's mother to let her son train, he started training at his grandfather's martial arts school. When the detective arrived, he was the smallest person there, as all the students were older then 13 and had been training for up to 8 years at the school.

The detective's grandfather made a rule that students had to be over 13 as he did not want to have any children getting hurt on his watch. This could ruin his reputation, so he made younger students train their bodies until they were 13 so that they would be strong enough to compete in the school environment.

When the detective arrived at the school the students welcomed him, but as in the rest of society there were some glares towards the detective as he was the only child that was allowed on the school premises whereas the rest of them would have been kicked out for being too young. The detective's grandfather felt the glares towards him and his grandson but chose to ignore them.

He stepped in front of everyone and spoke, "This is my grandson, he will be joining everyone here for the next couple years. I want everyone to help him and welcome him in with kindness as I did with all of you." There were some murmurs after he said that, but he cleared his throat and continued, "I am hoping to make an excellent martial artist out of him like I have been doing with you. Cain could you step forward please."

Cain was a well built boy about 6 foot 2 and aged 17. He looked very intimidating to the detective but then gave a smile, bent down and said, "Welcome to the school, I hope you become a great martial artist." He the stepped back upright and faced the detective's grandfather who said, "I would like you to help him the most because you are our best student here." Cain smiled and bowed, "As you wish."
