Chapter 25 - Real Speed

"Damn you Jelal! I'll make you pay for this torture! You'll regret making me go through all of this!" Christopher yelled out so that he could let out the anger that was inside of him. He couldn't take the training anymore.

"Come on Christopher, listen to yourself. Stop complaining and get a Thai job. You've reached 2 minutes already. You can do this. Just give it everything you've got. Surpass all your limits," said Christopher to himself as he tried to encourage himself before starting a new lap down to the bottom of the mountain and then up.

"Okay Christopher, you can do this. Now go!" said Jelal as he began the counter to see how long it would take Christopher this time to complete a full journey. He wanted Christopher to do his best but after so many trails of trying to go from 2 minutes to just a single minute, he began to pity him as it looked like Christopher had reached his limit and was ready to collapse yet Jelal remembered the promise he made to Christopher's father so he kept going on which the training which could have only been described as hell.

"My body, why does it feel so weak? Am I about to die? I mean what else could I have expected after pushing myself so hard. Well I guess this is the end," said Christopher to himself as he began to get ready to close his eyes and accept defeat. However right before his eyelids completely closed, a sudden change took place. It was as if he had been completely revived. Christopher felt better than ever as his eyes opened wide while his body was filled with energy.

"What if this feeling? I feel like I can run across the entire world in just a second. Where is all this power coming from? Wait, I've heard of this. Something called a runner's high or something along those lines. Wait, let me see if this will work," said Christopher to himself as he took one final deep breath in an pushed his legs down on the ground so hard that once he was ready to use it to push himself forward, a large pile of dirt flew in the opposite direction of him due to how much pressure he was placed on the ground.

As Christopher continued to run on the mountain, he could feel himself moving alongside the wind itself. Everything just felt perfect. It was like nothing could get in his way. He had achieved perfection.

In what seemed to be only several seconds, Christopher ran like lightning down to the bottom of the mountain then just as fast when he went back up.

After only another couple of seconds, Christopher had made it back up the mountain.

"I'm back," said Christopher with his eyes wide open like he was ready to do another lap but he wanted to hear how fast he had managed to complete the journey.

"Oh hey Christopher, did you forget something? I guess I'll have to restart the timer," said Jelal in a casual tone as he had completely dismissed the idea that Christopher would have any chance at completing the journey in that amount of time.

"No, I didn't forget anything. I wanna hear how fast I was?" said Christopher to which Jelal just gave a confused look before giving him a reply.

"That was just under 9 seconds but it's not like it matters. You didn't even complete the journey so we're going to have to redo it," Jelal replied in a rather casual tone.

"9 seconds?! Really?! I've gotten that fast?" said Christopher with his face lit up from joy.

"Like I said though, it's not like it matters, you didn't complete the journey so it's invalid," Jelal replied as he was getting sick of saying the same thing over and over again.

"But you're mistaken Jelal, I did in fact complete the journey. I don't know what happened to me but right as I started running, it was like I was completely reborn. I felt all my energy return to my body. I feel like I can completely rule the world now," said Christopher as he tried to explain the sudden change in speed to Jelal but even for the number 2 villain, it was impossible for him to comprehend it.

"You know it's okay if you wanna give up right? You've already trained plenty. How about a meal for me for all the hard work and we can redo this tomorrow," said Jelal as he had felt bad that his student had been so starved that he resorted to lying just for a meal. Although the lie was pretty bad as it was impossible for anyone of Christopher's calibre to achieve such a time.

"But I'm not lying-" Christopher tried to explain as he wanted Jelal to believe him but he was cut off once again as Jelal's brain could not comprehend the idea that someone like Christopher could achieve such a speed. However, right before even Jelal could talk, something happened.

In just a matter of a second, a large boulder was thrown on top of Jelal and he was knocked down on the ground while the boulder sat on top of him.

"What the hell was that?!" Jelal asked as he tried to get up from the ground while still struggling due to him being hit when he wasn't expecting it.

"Long time no see, Jelal," said a voice which seemed to shock Jelal but he seemed to get ready to use his full power.

"Hello, number 3 villain, William," said Jelal as he was preparing to give everything he had as he saw the person who came as a real threat. The number 3 villain was a tall yet chubby man with a full belly and wore a white tang too which had long jean shorts as he carried a large double sided war hammer.

"So Jelal, are you ready to die-,"William began to speak but was cut short as he saw something which resembled a flash of lightning.

"Don't move," said Christopher while still in the air due to how fast he moved all while Jelal watched as he finally accepted that Christopher wasn't lying.
