Chapter 18 - The Return Of The Demon

After hearing what Christopher had said, Jelal felt quite satisfied in his work as it meant that even though he had harmed Christopher, it still meant that Christopher was on his side, or at least for the time being.

While walking back to the mansion since the two wanted to taste some time to enjoy the outdoors due to them being inside the mansion for quite some time, Jelal got a sudden idea which might have made Christopher happy.

"Hey Christopher, would you want to test out your powers against someone who's not as crazy strong as I am?" Jelal asked Christopher to which he got curious and began to wonder what Jelal was planning as he still couldn't trust him again after the last time he did. The last time Christopher trusted Jelal, he ended up getting locked inside a basement for several days with no food or water. So it would make sense why Christopher would stay cautious of Jelal.

"Come on, I'm not trying to set you up. I'm serious this time. Would you want to test out your abilities on some weaker people to see how far you've come?" Jelal asked as he tried to convince Christopher that he wouldn't harm him and was only doing what was best for him.

"Well I mean I guess I can't trust him but even if I don't, I'd he really wanted to, he could force me to go back to the gravity chamber. So I guess since he's asking me to go along with him, that must mean that he's actually not lying and is trying to do something nice for me. On the other hand, he could have forced me the last time as well but instead he chose to lead me there of my own free will. I guess either way I lose. There's no point in arguing," Christopher thought to himself before nodding in agreement.

"Great! Trust me, you won't regret it," said Jelal as he began to activate his ice ability to allow him to take flight while Christopher also did the same.

"Trust you? I nearly died because of you. It'll be a long time before I can trust you again," said Christopher in his head as he followed Jelal as that was his only choice.

After flying for some time, the two arrived in a somewhat familiar alleyway.

"Wait, haven't we been here before?" Christopher asked as he tried to remember when he saw the place as it looked too familiar.

"This is the alleyway where you lost two of your fingers," said Jelal to which Christopher remembered that the place he was at was the same one he had two of his fingers sliced off with no warning. Hearing this, his hand reacted by creating fingers out of the flames not only on the fingers he had lost that day but also the one that Jelal cut off.

"Damn, I only have 2 real fingers on this hand left. If things keep going like this, I'll have to create an entire body of fire just to have a functional body.

"So what exactly are we doing here?" said Christopher as he wanted to know why Jelal had brought him back to the alleyway as there was no reason for it. Jelal had already taken care of the teenagers who cut off Christopher's fingers so he couldn't even get revenge if he wanted to.

"Well, you see those kids were just armatures, watch," said Jelal as two large groups began to slowly surround the area. All while Jelal and Christopher watched from the rooftop of a building.

"It looks like they're about to fight. Did something happen between them?" Christopher asked as he tried to figure out what would take place.

"No Christopher, they're not about to fight. That's far from the truth. You see, all of them are here to kill and nothing else. It's going to be a bloodbath," said Jelal, which made Christopher sick to his stomach. He had barely managed to handle the mental stress of etching a single person dying but now he would have to witness many people die all at once.

"How disgusting, I can't even watch this," said Christopher as he tried to turn his head away.

"What do you mean watch? You're not watching this. You're going to be killing all of them. Take on all of them at once and kill them all," said Jelal in a confident tone which made Christopher think that he was hearing things.

"Don't worry, you'll get used to it," said Jelal and before Christopher could even react, he pushed him off the roof top and forced him to land right in the middle of the battle field.

"Huh? Who's this kid? How dare you interrupt our battle?" one of the leaders of a gang said in a rather angry tone as what Christopher had done was very disrespectful to the event that would take place.

"Damn you Jelal, I was right not to trust you. I'll never believe a single word you say. Although I should be more worried about what's about to happen to me right now," said Christopher as he tried to think of a way to hide his identity as if they found out that he was the son of the number two hero in the world, they would either run away or try to kill him as fast as possible. Either way, he would have to hide his identity to make sure he could avoid both situations.

As such, he created a mask of fire to cover his face so that his identity could be hidden and began to slowly raise his head.

"Please forgive me. I accidentally fell from the rooftop of a building. I'll leave quickly so that you can do your business," said Christopher as he tried to leave the area without getting involved with them.

"Huh? Who said you were allowed to leave?" said the other gang leader before appearing right in-front of Christopher and punching him in the jaw which just the impact alone caused smoke to go everywhere.

"No way! He just used his finishing move on just some simpleton!" the gang leader's underlings said with a surprised face as they couldn't believe that he used something like that just because someone disrespected him.

"How annoying, now I have to do something about you," said Christopher as if he had switched personalities to the menacing monster that Jelal first saw when he opened the door of the gravity chamber.
