"You see Christopher, the ranking system of heroes isn't actually rigged. Well that's to a certain extent. The ranking which each hero receives is actually pretty accurate. So if someone gets first place and another gets second place, that's their rightful position. It's the actual part where it's uttered is the amount of points they collected. You know that heroes receive a certain amount of points for each good deed they do. The harder the task they accomplish, the more points they receive. However, as I mentioned before, heroes are actually quite lazy so they don't earn that many points during the year except the top 5 heroes which earn a great amount more points than the rest of the heroes and even those points are altered. However this only starts to be a serious issue when it comes to the points that the average hero earns. That being much less than they should have earned yet they are presented to have earned more than they actually did so that the regular civilians of this world including other heroes think of them as actual helpful members of society and that their world is safe because of them," Jelal began to explain to Christopher.
"I'm tired of this. I'm going to have to take a little break from this. Please give me a moment to think about what I've just learned," said Christopher as he went completely quiet as he needed to think for a little. All while this went on, the group flew to their next destination. That being a tiny alleyway which seemed to have a group of teenagers in them as they counted what seemed like too much cash for them to have.
"This is our next target, Christopher, I advise you to stay back once again as things will be getting quite messy again," said Jelal as he stepped up to the group of teenagers as he planned to confront them. However something unexpected happened as Jelal felt a tap on his back.
"Hey, do you mind if I take care of this instead?" Christopher asked with a rather exhausted facial expression as if he was completely done with the world and all he wanted to do was wreck havoc for quite some time. Jelal didn't understand what brought about this sudden change in Christopher but he was going to support him either way.
"Sure, go right ahead. I have to warn you though, these kids play dirty so be careful. If you need help just ask us, if you don't ask for help, not a single one of us will come to your aid. Without any further ado, go right ahead," said Jelal as he gave a little push on Christopher to give him a bit of momentum before he had his first ever battle.
"What are you looking at kid?" one of the rather taller teenagers said as he walked up to meet Christopher's gaze. The teenager that stepped up was a bit taller than Christopher and as such chose to look down on him.
Without wasting even so much as even a second, Christopher covered his hand in fire quickly before attempting to punch the teenager that stood in his path. However things didn't go as he had planned and they took a very bad turn when before he could even look down, he heard the sound of a quick slash which was followed by the sound of two things dropped on the ground and the sound of a liquid pouring on the ground.

When Christopher looked down at the group, he instantly felt sick to see that his fingers had been cut off. Well more specifically his middle and ring finger and now he was left with only 2 fingers in his right hand.
What followed this realisation was the most agonised pain he could ever describe. However before Christopher could tell any longer, Jelal appeared behind him. Not to help him in the battle but to inform him of something.
"Keep your voice down or you'll get us all caught," said Jelal as he whispered to Christopher's ear before going back to watch from a distance. I'm that moment, Christopher made a second realisation.
"I was mistaken. Hero society might be corrupt but so is the society which is governed by villains. I should've expected something like this. I mean why would they care if I had my fingers cut off. As long as I can be made of use to them, that's all they care about. In their eyes, I'm nothing but a tool," Christopher thought to himself as he continued to shit his mouth but felt that agonising pain while blood continued to pour out of his hands.
"Although that may be true, it's still better than being treated like a mere object. In the world of villains, they actually care if you're of use or not. In the words of heroes, they don't care who you are or what you can do. As long as you are outranked by someone, you are nothing but a tool to them. It doesn't matter if you're useful or not. They have the full right to do anything to you and you can't do anything about it. That's what's truly terrifying about the world of heroes. Although it's not like a villain , society doesn't have many flaws as well. All I know is that I can't expect things to be handed to me any longer. I can't keep on waiting for everything to go how I want it to. I have to do this. It's my only choice," said Christopher with a new will you fight. He planned on giving his new battle against the group of thugs everything he had.
At that moment, Christopher's entire body began to heat up as his body felt warmer and warmer. Although at first he assumed it was because of the adrenaline rush, that was not the truth. He could feel as his fire wrapped around his sliced off fingers and burned the cut so that the bleeding would stop before forming 2 fingers out of flames and attaching to the fingers that were cut off.
"I feel like I'm melting…"
