Chapter 16 - Absolute Zero

Christopher as well as Jelal were standing in an empty field which they had gone to so that they could conduct their battle. This decision was made by Jelal himself as he already knew that for some odd reason Christopher had managed to accumulate far too much strength in such a short period of time. That meant that he would be more difficult to deal with than anyone else. This was the reason that Jelal requested to move the battle elsewhere just in case things got out of hand which they would very soon.

However even after going off somewhere else, Jelal wanted to talk things out but on the other hand, Christopher didn't even want to say a single word. After all, it would only make sense that Christopher would be clearly upset since Jelal had trapped him inside that house with no food or water for what seemed like an eternity. Even so, through sheer sheer will power, Christopher not only survived those harsh days inside the house and while being under such gravitational pressure just so that he would get the opportunity to get his revenge. By this point, Christopher had completely forgotten about Crimson and was now purely targeting Jelal. He had even subconsciously redirected his hate for Crimson onto Jelal which meant that Jelal would have to face the punches that should have been directed at Crimson for what he did to Christopher's mom. Even so, it wasn't like Jelal had any plans of losing. It didn't matter if Christopher had grown in strength over the past couple days, Jelal still had many more years of training and experience under his belt. No amount of talent would be able to surpass that in just a couple of days.

"Oh so that's how you like to fight?" Jelal asked once Christopher had landed the very first punch of the battle to which Jelal simply said there and took the punch while fruiting his teeth as he was now ready to fight back. As the seconds passed, Jelal's will to fight back began to decrease at an ever increasing rate. For a single second Jelal lost all control of himself as he began to prepare a counter punch and right as his fist came ever closer to Christopher's face, time seemed to have begun to slow down to which Christopher seemed to have been frozen in time as well.

"Dammit, why did I have to get so reckless. Just after he'd managed to impress me so much. At the rate he was going, he could have become the next villain king. Even so, there's not much I can do right now. My hand is moving far too fast for me to even slow it down. Even if I were to slow it down it would still hit him and most likely kill him. How disappointing. I might as well show him some dignity and finish this off with everything I have," said Jelal as he placed even more effort into his punch right before it hit Christopher.

Even though it seemed like Christopher was just moments away from being killed, something spectacular took place which even Jelal noticed when this happened. It was a single movement in Christopher's eyes when his pupils' locked in to Jelal's eyes and stared back at him. Seeing this, Jelal came to a sudden realisation. That being that Christopher was much stronger than he initially anticipated.

Jelal had thought that Christopher had grown by a lot but he could have never imagined that it was to this extent. After all it wouldn't make sense for a mere teenager who had barely started taking his training seriously would be able to react to a punch by someone as experienced as Jelal. Even so, that's exactly what took place.

Seeing the punch that was coming towards him, Christopher used his manga to slow down its movements by wrapping it around Jelal's hand. Next, Christopher took a deep breath in before firing a new layer of a fire which blocked off Jelal's viewing area which meant that Christopher would have the advantage in the battle even if it was for a mere moment.

"Now!" said Christopher while he was still mid air before his eyes locked down at the ground as he realised where he needed to strike to do the most amount of damage to Jelal.

Before the fire he let out could die down, Christopher went down back to the ground before pushing himself using a mere single step but that single step was just enough for him to reach behind Jelal before covering his hand in a ball of magma and preparing to use it to punch a hole right through Jelal's chest which started from the back and appeared from the front.

"Now, die!" Christopher yelled out as it was finally time for him to shine. All his hard work would finally pay off and he would be able to kill Jelal.

"Calm down kid. There's no need for you to get so loud. Plus you need to be brushing your teeth more often, your breath stinks," said Jelal as he grabbed Christopher by the wrist and forced him to stop making the manga out of nothing by simply breaking Christopher's wrist as it was the quickest method of doing so.

Without even having to exert that much effort, Jelal was able to move so quickly that Christopher hadn't seen him move from the position he was previously in, which was in front of Christopher and then appearing beside Christopher.

"Damn you! You think I trained all those hours just to lose to you?! I'll make you pay! I'll make you pay Jelal!" Christopher yelled out as he began to summon piles upon piles of his magma which began to surround Jelal and Christopher himself as it began to swallow the two of them at the same time.

"I see, so you've gotten used to using your new ability and you want to show it off? How interesting. Although it's unfortunate that I'm much stronger than you. Even though you're a direct counter to me, you'll still lose this battle," said Jelal in a rather confident tone and then letting out a cold sigh.

"Absolute zero."
