Chapter 12 - Training

After having to witness so many people getting killed in just a short period of time, Christopher began to lose his mind as it was too much for him to handle. Less than a week ago he was having the best time of his life as he enjoyed every single day that he awoke to. Now he was forced to witness such heinous crimes take place and people lose their lives and had to come to terms with the fact that he would soon be doing those same acts that he felt sick of.

"Why do you kill?" Christopher asked which caught Jelal off guard. It wasn't because of the question itself but the way Christopher asked it. He usually had a tremble in his time whenever he spoke to Jelal in general which got even more evident when he was speaking about villainous activities however this time, there was nothing like that in Christopher's voice. It was plain normal as if he was getting adjusted to the ways of villains.

"He's evolving much sooner than I thought. I guess I can start to mould him now. The sooner I start with this process, the better," Jelal thought to himself before replying to Christopher to answer the question that Christopher sought the answer to.

"Well, there are many reasons for a person to kill another. Money, power, fame, all those things could cause someone to become a murderer. You see when someone is so focused on one of those things, they can get addicted to them. To the point where even murder would be worth the sacrifice is it meant that they could achieve those goals. That's how we work and especially me. I work for money so if someone places a bounty on someone, I'll take the job and get paid for it. Others might have other motivations as everyone has their own reasons for killing. However there's a single group of people which expand out of this and break the boundaries of being sane. Those are the people who kill for no reason. They aren't motivated by anything and kill for absolutely no reason. Their blades don't hesitate for even a single second as they have no reason to. They've become obsessed with the taste of blood on their blades. Those are what we would call demons," said Jelal, which seemed to have piqued Christopher's interest.

"Oh so do you know anyone like that?" Christopher asked Jelal as he wanted to know more about those who kill for no reason. The true definition of pure evil.

"Well not right now but I did know someone like that in the past," said Jelal as a sudden look of disappointment took over his face.

"Well that's not really important right now. What you should be focusing on is getting stronger. I mean you want to get revenge on the world of heroes don't you?" Jelal asked as he tried to motivate Christopher. Although it didn't work and Christopher still sought to learn more about the invincible monsters of the villain world, he needed to be grateful for Jelal as he was helping him quite a lot even though it didn't make sense why.

"Sure, I would love to learn on how I could gain more power so please teach me," Christopher replied as he tried to sound as sincere as possible.

"That's more like it. Now, the best way for you to start gaining power is to train. That should be common knowledge for you," said Jelal to which Christopher gave a simple nod and replied.

"So like running and doing push ups?" Christopher asked as he thought that was what Jelal was referring to when he said train. However that couldn't have been further from the truth.

"No no, that's not what I meant. I mean it's a bit close but not quite. Follow me," said Jelal as he led Christopher to a staircase which led downwards to most likely a basement type facility. After going down a couple floors, Christopher wanted to ask how many more floors there were as it didn't make sense for a mansion with only 4 floors to have at least 10 floors below it. Nevertheless, Christopher chose to stay quiet and followed Jelal until they reached a stop to which Jelal opened the door that led to that floor and entered it.

Inside of the floor was an empty space with something that looked like a small house inside it.

"What is that thing?" Christopher asked to which Jelal simply gave a gentle smile and walked over to the house.

"How about you see for yourself," said Jelal as he opened the door to the house and welcomed Christopher inside as if Jelal was going to enter right after. However, right before Christopher stepped in, Jelal gave him one strong push and closed the door quickly.

"Wha-" Christopher tried to ask but was quickly stopped as his entire body fell to the ground at the force of at least 10000 elephants. Christopher felt his ribs clearly shatter and tried to yell from the agonising pain but even that was impossible as the pain made it hard for him to even breathe.

"What is this? I feel like I'm being held down by whole trucks. I can't even get up," said Christopher in his head as he finally realised where he was. The gravity inside the house was much stronger than in the outside world which meant that it was the work of someone's ability to which Jelal had used on Christopher.

"Why would Jelal put me here though? I mean if this is his way of training me I guess I could be thankful but this is a bit too much. I can't even move at all," said Christopher as he continued to struggle to even breathe.

"What a shame. He must be thinking that he's going through hell right now. I guess only time will tell. After all, once a person has been pushed past the point of desperation is when their true colours finally start to show. So Christopher, show me what you're made of," said Jelal as he stood outside the house that Christopher was in.
