Inshal waited for a while, a long while, she and all the other demons there sat in silence. "Inshal, I hope you like what you see" Zeven spoke unexpectedly in a sharp tone of spite.
"How was I supposed to know Marlo would do that?" Inshal defended herself, she gets why he is mad but he shouldn't direct it at her.
"Huh, our new queen, of the strongest and most feared kingdom of the underworld didn't know her own husband would do something like this" Zeven laughed, he pointed at his scared eyes and hissed.
"Well damage is done, nothing I can do now" Inshal flicked her tail and she made sure he could hear it.
"Your right, damage is done, now I have to return to my kin and explain this mess" Zeven had a grin that Inshal didn't like, "now I wonder how they would feel about this" he nodded to himself.
"Are you threatening me?" Inshal raised her voice, 'he relied on Marlo as a threat, I don't'.
"I wonder were you got that idea from" he said sycasticly, "you won't always have Marlos protection little hybrid" he spat the last word.
"I don't need it" Inshal challenged, "I can hold my own and if you are willing to send your kin to a death match to try and prove me wrong go right ahead". Silence, Inshal has this dwarfed demon all figured out, 'he relies on others'.
"Why so confident?, you haven't met any of my kin" Zeven frowned, "what strength do you have to be confident to wonder blindly into a fight?".
"I would say that you will soon see but I guess I have to explain it out to you" Inshal mocked, "but do you really want to know the answer?". All the other demons in the room paid close attention, a new queen and old trustworthy adviser arguing and making threats, is a treat for them. "..." Zeven only moved his head in defeat.
"Well that's a little disappointing" Inshal leand back on the chair, "I thought we here having fun" she shrugged.
"What am I ment to say back?" Zeven basically growled, "I know when I can't win so I shouldn't bother".
"I like that" Inshal nodded slowly, "if only more would swallow their pride and admit defeat, this world would be a lot better" Inshal smiled but not softly like she has before, she made sure it was phycotic. Inshal needs the respect of the other demons, she needs them to not push her aside and think she'll just deal with it.
"I don't swallow my pride!" Zeven gritted his teeth and Inshal knew that she hit a nerve.
"Oh, but didn't you admit that you can't win?" Inshal asked.
"I know what battles I can win my pride stands strong!" Zeven slammed his hand on the chair and the other demons jumped back.
"Ok, if that's the lie you are willing to tell yourself, then you didn't swallow your pride" Inshal can sense the anger bubble up in him.
"It's not a lie!" Zeven stood up but clearly couldn't tell were she is.
"It is" Inshal said calmly, she couldn't care is he attacked, she is the obvious winner here.
"Just count yourself lucky that I can't see you or you would be long dead by now" Zeven threatened and Inshal could see that he is trying to locate her.
"Do you need a walking cane?" Inshal asked, she didn't mean it to be as harsh as it sounded.
"No!" he hollowed.
"Zeven" Marlos deep voice came from the other tent, he had a rather confused look. Inshal could only guess what is going through his mind, Inshal sitting calmly on a chair when Zeven, blind as a bat, yelling threats to his feonsay. "Marlo" Zeven lower his head and wonded slowly to the tent. Marlo gave her a look that said "you can explain latter" and gestured for them to leave. They went to Marlos tent, it was a little bit warmer in there and the blankets looked comfy and welcoming. "What was that about? all I heard was him yelling out as if you told him that his wife had died by your hands" Marlo asked in the most confused tone she had ever heard.
"He started to threaten me with his kin so I basically put him in his place, it was a lot easier then I thought" Inshal shrugged, she realised that she is out normaly calm when situations like this happen.
"I bet he's mad about his sight then" Marlo joked, "I was more worried that he doesn't respect you enough for you to handle that" he admitted.
"If any one here doesn't respect me right now, I'll make them" Inshal reinsured him, Inshal felt powerful about the subject, like making demons, of all things, bow down to her a birth right.
"Good keep that attitude, not only is it attractive, it is also a good way to make them respect you" Marlo stood behind her then pushed onto his hug bu her waist.
"You like a girl who knows how to keep demons under control?" Inshal flirted a joke and Marlo laughed a little in amusement.
"Yes" he kissed the back of her neck, "you have no idea how much it makes me want you" Marlo then gently bit her ear.
"Alright slow down" Inshal pushed away, "I'm not all that in the mood for sex" she said sitting on the chair that is with the desk.
"Alright, but I do need to train you" Inshal just noticed the wrappes on his wings and tail, "I need to go in a bit so tonight, meat me in that field that I trained you in last time" he instructed.
"Ok, so what are you doing?" Inshal asked, she still needs to find out what the blueberries do and who knows when Strongmind will come for a report.
"Kingly duties, making sure the reports of my kingdom is good and making sure that the other kingdoms don't find out about the egg" he explained, he didn't do a tone or anything just explained it.
"Sound like fun" Inshal joked, "so what am I need to do?" Inshal didn't want to be stuck with a computer all day again.
"Make a name for yourself, no afence but a lot of demons here haven't even met you, let alone your kin that awakes your arrival in the underworld" Marlo shrugged then advised.
"Your make it sound like I want to go to the underworld" Inshal said calmly but she made her voice sound like she is being serious. Inshal doesn't want to go to the underworld, feeled with sin and evil spirits.
"Well you are now queen to the most powerful kingdom there" Marlo gave her a look to let her know that this is not something to debate.
"Alright, but don't expect me to like it" Inshal didn't argue only agree, it could make her quest to get information a little easier.
"So who are the demons her?" Inshal asked knowing that Marlo wouldn't bring a bunch of no-bodys to a mission as important as Marlo makes it out to.
"My best genrals, except one, I need her there to keep things together and their best solders" Marlo answered, "in my opinion, you need them to respect you if not, good luck trying to get any other demons to respect you".
"Like I said they will respect me" Inshal siad confidently.
"Good, now I need to be going, have fun out there" Marlo kissed her then left.
Inshal left for the commens tent, it was hot in there, "so you not drunk or hangover now?" Xzaviar asked from the bar when she walked in.
"No" Inshal shook her head, 'he is gonna be a problem, or he might be easy for me get him under control' Inshal thought.
"Good, have a drink, an actual drink not just a bunch of shots" Xzaviar offered her a glass.
"Alright, but don't expect me to have 20 at a time" Inshal accepted, drinks seems to a good way to bond to demons.
"I don't, but queen? want to explain that?" Xzaviar asked, he seemed to be more calm and layed back then others.
"Well you got the answer to that question a while back" Inshal joked and took a sip of the drink. It didn't tast like pure alcohol, it was nice and she could stomach it.
"True, but I've seen this a million times, the new queen has a brilliant start, well respected and treated nicely" he took another sip, "then they loose popularity, loose respect, everything comes falling down then a random 'assassin' comes out of nowhere and kills her". He didn't have a tone or look that suggests that he is threatening her, it sounds like to her that he is just warning her.
"Well thanks for the warning, I can bet anything that any other demons wouldn't warn me and let wander in blindly" Inshal took a sip of her own drink.
"Good, you're not like the other paranoid 'queen' who just assums that I'm threatening her" Xzaviar smiled, 'yeah he is gonna be easy to get respect from, as long as I play my cards right' she thought.
