Inshal woke up, she was not in Marlos tent but a different one. A cup of water sat next to her, it only had a sip left. 'What happened?' Inshal asked herself, her head hurt and the last thing she could remember is testing a few drinks with Zeven. Inshal stood up and went out side, it was the middle of the night and most of the noise is coming from the commen tent. She saw Darkin at the egg, he was pacing and constantly touching it.
"Father" she called out but her throat didn't sound right.
"Inshal you're no longer drunk?" Darkin tilted his head in a wired way.
"No, never doing that again" Inshal grabbed hold of her head, it didn't hurt too much but it did ach.
"You sure, don't drink as much as you did yesterday then you'll like it, we need to work on your alcohol tolerance" Darkin unloaded a lot at once.
"No, never doing that again" Inshal repeated herself, "they tasted nice but I had one weak one and I got dizzy".
"We need to work on that" Darkin repeated himself, "hey so Zeven is basically dead now" he mentioned.
"What?" Inshal could only assume that she killed him, he was the one who she was drinking with.
"Yeah, Marlo didn't like the fact that he was the only who got you that drunk so he's dead" Darkin smiled and laughed a little, "I've always hated him".
"Oh, I thought that I killed when drunk, but what was I like?" Inshal asked not being able to remember anything.
"Well let's just say you vomited a rainbow, had a horrible headache and curled into a ball in my tent craving ice water" Darkin listed and gave her look. "Please we need to work on that" he narrowed his eyes.
"Oh, well so were is Marlo now?" Inshal wasn't sure is Darkin was told about her new relationship with Marlo.
"Of to be by his side already?" Darkin joked with a smile bit there is something else but she decided to ignore it.
"You were told?" Inshal asked with her own smile.
"Well you tried to tell me, failed miserably and I had to go to Marlo because that's all that I got out of your mumbling" Darkin explained and Inshal got a little embarrassed, her head ached and she can't remember much of being drunk. "Marlo is in the commen tent, the firepit I just installed is beautiful" Darkin answered her first question and he went back to his duties.
Inshal went to the commen tent, inside it was as if it was on fire and most of the demons sat as close to the deep coulered fire as possible. "Inshal, over here!" Marlo called out to her and Inshals ears rang. Inshal sat next to Marlo who was right in front of the fire, Marlo pushed her into a hug and he wrapped his tail around hers again. "So I heard that father now knows" Inshal mentioned.
"Yeah everyone knows now" Marlo kissed the top of her head, between her horns.
"And now Zeven is dead" Inshal continued, Marlo laughed and hugged her in closer.
"No not dead, his eyes are dead but he is still thinking" Marlo laughed and explained himself.
"So what else did I miss?, I can't remember much" Inshal asked trying to look up.
"Not much, Zevens punishment is the only thing worth mentioning, so how's your hangover?" Marlo asked gently petting her head.
"Alright, a little headache and I want to sleep, why is it so hot in here? I'm sweating" Inshal asked panting.
"This is hot to you? you sure you don't want to sit in the fire and warm up?" Marlo sounded confused.
"I would hate that, I'm warm enough here" Inshal embrace Marlos hug a bit more, she might be hot but she was tired and would prefer to cuddle up and sleep.
"We can head back to my tent and sleep, won't be as warm but it would be quieter" Marlo suggested, Inshal shook her head then rested her snout on his neck.
"I'm good here, I think you want to stay here even more" Inshal then moved into a more comfortable position.
"Alright, but I don't mind if you want to go back to my tent" Marlo then layed down to get both of them comfortable. Inshal soon drifted of in Marlos arms, she may not love him the way he loves her but she still craves security when she sleeps. Back in the hevens Inshal would get that security from the soft and fluffy clouds and when she was a child from her mother.
Inshal felt the soft motion of Marlo breathing when she woke up, he was sound asleep still in the commen tent. This time more covers and less demons, Kelli was there it looked as if she just got in. "Morning, queen" she bowed and Inshal nodded back, in a respectful way but she kept her superiority in place.
"What time is it?" Inshal asked quietly as to not wake Marlo who could barly be seen due to all the blankets.
"6, would you like a drink?" Kelli offered setting up the bar.
"No, I'm good" Inshak shook her head then laued back down, she wasn't tired anymore but she didn't feel like being awake.
It didn't take long for Marlo to wake up, "morning, sleep well?" he asked petting her back.
"Yes you?" Inshal smiled then kissed him, she has always been good with acting so being Marlos wife should be easy for her.
"Yes, oh Kelli you're here already, don't mind passing a drink?" Marlo asked standing up, Inshal followed him, she didn't want any drinks but she would like to spend time with him. Who knows what kind of information she can get put of him just by talking to him.
"So what exactly is that orb?" Inshal asked, she needs him to believe that she had no idea about what it is. He stared quite for a moment and Kelli gave an odd expression. "It's an egg" he said slowly, "a dragons egg, it can hold so much power and under our control we won't have to worry about any conflict with other kingdoms in the underworld and with the angels". Marlo sounded as if the more he talked the easier it was to tell her.
"Oh, you're incubating it? but wouldn't it freeze out there?" Inshal doesn't understand what his plan is here.
"No, it's ready to hatch, has been for thousands of years, but it needs a powerful energy, a power like from an angel or one of us. It needs to be woken up by a something with similar power, problem is my power is to weak for it".
That part shocked Inshal, Marlo is made out to her as this all powerful, ancient demon but 'too weak' it sounded impossible for something like that to happen. "So what kind of power does it need?" Inshal asked, Marlo kept quite then he pointed with his eyes at her horns. 'Does he mean my power?, the lighting is that what it needs?' Inshal asked herself. "Only time will tell" he then said, Inshal began to think. 'Does he want to try my power? is that why father wanted my power to surface? is that why Marlos first interaction was to find out my power?'.
Inshal flicked her tail, "let's go on a flight, I have some free time now" Marlo put his drink down and went to the door. Inshal followed, he could give her answers if they're alone. They flew towards the forest, it was cold out in the early morning and Inshal could tell that Marlo didn't like it. "You could awaken it if you train hard enough, but it might not work so the question is do you want to reveal your cursed power to the demons who don't understand?" Marlo explained straight up.
"Cursed? how is it cursed?" Inshal felt a little afended about that.
"It's holy lightning, on a demon, I don't think I have to explain any further" Marlo said with a look Inshal couldn't truly identify.
"So like my blood then?" Inshal asked in a tone that explained how she felt, it's not cursed it's just mixed.
"I guess if you want to put it that way" Marlo stopped, "we should head back, it's too cold for my wings". Inshal could see cold sores forming at the joint and some scales disscoler, his large and twisted horns didn't look so great either. Inshal nodded and they headed back, "you alright? you don't seem to be flying right" Inshal observed.
"No I should get that checked" Marlo sounded as if every wing flap hurt, individually.
Once they got back, the first place Inshal took him was the healer tent. It had a few other demons with the same cold sores on there wings and tail. "Angily you back there?" Marlo called and it brought some bad memories for her.
"Yes, Marlo you have cold sores" she sounded concerned and called to the back. Inshal had to stay in the recovery/waiting tent. She heard someone walk out of the back tent that held all the medicines and equipment, it was Zeven. His eyes were covered in deep slashes, stitches had to hold his eye lids together and the once bright and coulerfull eyes are now grey and lifeless. Inshal didn't dare speak, she knew that Marlo did it because of what he did to her but she can't help but listen to her halo. It told her this is too harsh of a punishment for what he actually did, her halo has an instinct of some sort to tell the true farness and what punishment is right for the crime.
Inshal knows that he didn't do a crime bad enough to lose his sight for ever.
